A beautiful model ! I worked on the railway all my life and its still a surprise to me the power in steam . I noticed you are carrying the head code of a class 5 express freight . Can you please tell me , do you have some sort of fail safe, if the radio link was to lost for any reason ?
Well built locomotive! I haven't seen many radio controlled live steam locos larger than 2 1/2" before this! Looks very realistic. If there is no driver on a riding car, how is the hand pump run? Does the driver just walk up to the tender and run the pump when stationary, as needed? And what is it fired on?
Hi +GDS1953, this isn't one of my engines but a close friends, he used the RC from his plane using 2.4ghz and added one servo to the regulator and one to the whistle, unfortunately the engines has two injectors (axle pump has been removed which for normal running I’m in favour of removing) which will be a little fiddle to add RC conversion to, so currently water and coal has to be added manual after each lap.

Still your friend has proved it can be done and what a great sight his engine makes hauling a rake of wagons...certainly got me thinking again!
That is bloody good!!! Is it coal fired and are the injectors worked from the controller or are they manual? Can you control the reverser from the controller too? And notch up?

I love classic locomotive trains, they have a certain dignified majesty. Newer diesels and electric, while they're practical, they simply miss that.
Looks amazing! I get that it is fun to operate a loco while sitting behind it, but this looks so convincing without the driver sat behind it.

I see what you mean! Although personally, I prefer to see them as very small narrow gauge locomotives :P
