I love Yamaha guitars . When the new Pacs were released i was thrilled..I have a 1990 721 snd a new revstar .my 721 is amazing. But ive been wanting a 611 for the hardtail and p90...also ...i have the Seymour Duncans first version Aph slash alnico 2 humbuckers in a les paul and love them. Truly a great pickup for me ....this video made me want this 611 more. Rockin playin man.. great job..
Thanks mate! I always wanted a Revstar, never had a chance to have it, but who knows. :) I no longer have this 611 and I'm not happy about that fact. It was an awesome guitar.
A P90 in the neck and humbucker in the bridge is a great combination. I want a 3 pickup semi-hollow with a P90 in the neck, a Joe Barden in the middle and a humbucker in the bridge. That's my dream axe.
They are when you get a good one. Worldwide demand has put such pressure on production that Yamaha product NOW coming out of their Indonesian factory can be very hit or miss. Been there a few times since 2017, as have others. From experience with the acquisition of 7 new Indonesian produced Yamaha guitars in the 5 year period between then and 2022, I've formed the conclusion there is no QC at Yamaha's Indonesia plant other than batch spot checks, if even those, and that everything produced is boxed and sent to regional distributors where the customer gets to be their QC.
@@theblytonian3906 thanks for the reply. Sad to hear that, both of mine are Japanese. I was thinking of getting one of the Mid range revstars,, maybe I need to check where they are manufactured. Thanks for the advice.
Hey guys, just saw these comments - I usually play Yamaha's acoustics, but this 611 totally got me back then. Anyways - whatever I bought that had Yamaha logo was awesome. Everything worked as a pitch. From studio monitors, mixers, guitars, pianos, hell even bikes. :) @@zarifam1635
Hey there, Earle. Yeah, the discussion went too far and I can understand your confusion. :) Anyways, these pickups are not the same as the stock ones, but the stock ones (the set that the guitar comes with out of the factory) are pretty similar. They're also Seymour Duncan and they differ a bit in character, and not in quality, so you can consider that these are the factory ones as they're pretty much the same. :) Hope I managed to clear the air for you. @@mandastudio6377 Hi Filiman, thanks for your reply. To my ears, the replacement pickups sound fatter & rounder than the original ones when I compare your tone to other 611 demos I have seen. By the way, great guitar playing
@@earledaniels4539 If I may say - I've tried both and to my ears they sound pretty similar. Those pickups (on this demo) are even a bit harsher (more hi-mid and treble). It's just that I play that way and I love to keep my sound bottom high and tight. Usually people tend to make some kind of middlish-trebleish sound and I like to keep it rounder and fatter, as you noticed. Plus, on everything, people record guitar in various ways, some of them are good, some of them are not... Some of them are not so good in mixing the guitars, etc. There are many things in the process that you should honor when making the comparison. I would love if I had a chance to record both sets on the same equipment. Again, I can really confirm and say the both sets soubd awesome and that the difference is not so big. After all, it all comes down to the way you play your guitar. :) If you right hand is punchy, fat-pickin' etc the sound will be, too. :) Cheers!
@@earledaniels4539 no, they are not. They sound way bitier and more aggressive (more on a treble side) Original ones to me sound better. They are less refined and sharp probably but definitely warmer and fuller.

Very nice, but it should be made clear to n00bs that this is NOT a stock PAC611HFM with pickups as supplied OOTB from Yamaha but a customised pickup config.

Anyone know if it's possible to add the tremolo after?

Nope. :) Its a Hot p-90 Neck pickup. :)
