What can you recommend for RA?
I’m sorry I’m not very well-versed in rheumatoid arthritis, but hopefully somebody else can chime it.

Could you please share the link to your planter tower that you have your strawberries in with me? Thank you!

The best homemade mosquito spray is 10 drops each of essential oils, orange, grapefruit and lemon in a pint of witch hazel. Smells amazing and works awesome.
Thank you for sharing
Great video, thank you! I also have been researching & learning about herbal medicine & homeopathy. As a retired RN I became very disappointed in our allopathic system a few years ago, and I was sure there had to be a better way than using pharmaceuticals for every little thing. Greetings from Leesburg FL! Love your channel.
It is disappointing to see the progression of our healthcare. I’m much more into prevention and whole body health care these days.
Homeopathy is the way forward. I treat my cat with remedies since wasting so much money on vets and not getting an answer or cure, so i researched, did a course, got the remedies and the cat is so much better health now, only small cough once a day. From hardly being able to breathe at all, it's a miracle
That’s amazing! But if you use a remedy that is not treating “like with like,” it is not homeopathy and instead- traditional medicine.
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homeopathy
Homeopathy is a medical practice which seriously dilutes any medicine. It likely does not work! It is common to call home remedies homeopathy. But it is a misnomer!
That’s amazing 😻

This sounds like my cat! What did you use?
Are the teabags cotton? Would love to see a video on your tea mixtures.
Yes they are. I really need to do a tea video. I love tea so much
@@HomegrownFloridaZ9a That would be very nice.
I really like your video! 🍃very informative!
Just a suggestion..if you rub or use a mortar & pestle ..volatile oils release..giving more potentcy to your tincs etc..
Great tip! Thanks
Love your video! Idea: use a measuring cup with a spout to heat and pour the lip balms.
That would have been so much easier, lol. Thanks
I enjoyed this video. Thanks for sharing! I live up in northern Canada, near Whitehorse Yukon. I love to forage for wild plants just outside our home. I have infused Arnica flowers & Dandelions mixed with some store bought Comfrey. I made a great pain relief salve & it works great! We have lots of wild strawberries, raspberries, blueberries & saskatoons too. So much that we can pick for free! The wild roses will be great for facial recipes, red clover for teas. Natural is the best way to go ❤
That’s awesome. One day I want learn about wild foraging. That sounds so fun
@HomegrownFloridaZ9a it is lots of fun! Up here the air & water is so clean. In our community we don't have any spraying of chemicals. I love it!
@@renamaemcdonald2075we plan on traveling up there to Canada in our RV. I’ll have to make a stop near you. It sounds beautiful
@HomegrownFloridaZ9a it is! We actually live in Atlin, BC. It's just south of the Yukon border. Lots of gorgeous mountains right on Atlin Lake
I love making my own medicine and body products. Im growing borage this year so will research this more. A tincture made with liquor has a indef shelf if stored correctly is what I have heard. I have been making my cold n flu tincture for 12yrs which is elderberry tincture 9 times out of 10 it knocks out the cold. I make lemon balm infused oil to make my lip balm since I suffer from cold sores. Look forward to more videos.
That’s great to know. This is my first time using actual alcohol so that’s good to know.
Lemongrass is phenomenal for all kinds of mosquitoes and areas flying insect repellent. It does not send your pollinators away, which is a big pro if you using it in gardening.
I can’t wait to try it. Fingers crossed
LOVE this video! We have so much in common! former IT PM, holistic wellness & I realized 30 yrs ago I don’t have a good relationship with alcohol. I switched about 7 years to natural holistic wellness, including organic food & products and haven’t been ill. I also love sharing what a difference it’s made to my health. I love making DIY natural. My goal this year was to make medicinal tinctures & teas! Your video will help me get started! I have ashwagandha, calendula, roselle, ginger, thyme, oregano, lemon balm in my garden. Not enough tho so need tips to grow an abundance. I also thought if I dried the flowers (ashwagandha I believe I harvest roots in fall) I have to use dehydrator? I heard you don’t want to dry out to avoid mold? And pls tell me how to use roselle I have some fruit on the plant, I believe after it flowers u can use? I’m so looking forward to your upcoming videos and learning more 😁. Thank u so much for sharing this info!
Some flowers/roots/herbs don’t air dried well but some do so it’s kind of hit or miss. All the flowers in the video I air dried but herbs and roots I normally dehydrate to avoid molding. For the roselle, once the flower drops off, wait 1-2 weeks to harvest the calyx (base). Peel the outside off and lay it out to dry. It’s so good in tea and deserts. So good
I find this very interesting. I'm going to try growing a few of these to start making my own tinctures. I would love for you to do more of these. Thanks again, love all your videos.
You got it!

Can you spell the flower she used for the lotion bars? I’ve never heard of it. Sounds like calingia, but it looks like calendula.
@@ginger4himyou got it right. It’s calendula
Beautiful video.

Just found your channel and love it, we are very similar! Also in Florida, what part of Florida are you from? I am in Weeki wachee 😊
I’m in Spring Hill so right down the road from you 🤗
I love strawberry leaf tea! Didn't know it's good for female ❤
Lots of great nutrition too 💚
I use fresh plants for tinctures?
That’s even better. I already had these dried for other recipes.
I just learn to make cold infusions with the highly scented here's like Chamomile for ice tea ❤
That sounds lovely.
@@HomegrownFloridaZ9a and I love that the nutrients are whole from no heat

I have always heard that you should use fresh flowers/plants, not dried, when making tinctures. but you said you dry yours. Just curious.
Mine were air dried so that’s usually better than dehydrated. It also reduces the possibility of mold because fresh has more water content. It’s a trade off between maximum nutrition versus reducing the possibility of mold. I live in a very humid climate so limiting the moisture is more important than a small amount of nutrient loss for me. Either way works though.
If you were doing an oil infusion I know that you need to use dried. But using alcohol, alcohol is a water-based so there is no chance of mold. The alcohol already has a water content and the alcohol will keep it from spoiling.
@@JaneMills14true but the added water in the fresh herbs can impact your alcohol to water content which can impact its ability to store or its level of potency. But you can totally do fresh if you prefer. I’ve done both ways and didn’t really notice a difference in the results.
Could you heat the bees wax and butter separately to lessen the chances of the damaging the effects of the calendula?
That’s a great idea and yes, that would be best.
Is she actually using calendula? I was trying to figure out what she was using, she says a g and sounds like calingia.
@@ginger4himit’s calendula. My southern accent was shining through
@@HomegrownFloridaZ9a thank you, I searched and searched, I even said it exactly like you, but it wasn’t finding anything. It was the g sound that threw me off! Thanks so much! I love calendula. I made a great salve with it and a few other flowers that has completely caused my grand son’s eczema to go away. We use it to treat bug bites and scrapped knees and sun burns.
@@ginger4himI absolutely love it for dry skin and bug bites. It’s such an underrated flower 💚
So what setting are you using on the crock pot for those 3 hours? You just said to set it in the pot.
It’s low. My mini crockpot only has the low setting.
U r about to make me get really busy around this camp. Why did I open up this barrel of snakes? Lol
@@meanpopsimogreensimmons5959😂😂😂 I know exactly what you mean
Recently transplanted from GA/FL East Coast to N£ 0K. Am having such a hard time sourcing a good grade of Comfrey. Knew plenty back home, but medicinal medicines here, is almost non existent. Which is strange, being there are so many American Indian tribes around???
N0 0N£ local, sells, or knows anyone that sells/carries Comfrey plants! Most look @me as though I’m crazy, when asked. And, of course, there’s N0 local ‘herbal’ store, besides the ever abundant, MaryJane and the sparse stores that carry prepackaged products.
Lemongrass, Lavender, Clove, Tea Tree oil, Lemon Balm, Geranium, and a few others make a great ‘NaturaI Mosquito oil/spray. Plantain (long leaf or broad leaf) infused in olive oil, w/a bit of beeswax, maxes a great sting, burn, bug bite salve.
That’s interesting. What about seeds? Can you source those?
We have so much comfrey here in my yard/garden in the texoma area. I've made several medicinal for my health. Good hear lot more people are getting into healing themselves. Happy herbing.
Perma Pastures Farm sells!!
❤❤❤
Why need to use butter ?
You can make it without but then it’s more like a salve and not lotion.
Keep your measurements equal and split your Shea with Kokum your bar will be harder
I’ll try that. Thanks!
Herbal medicine and homeopathy are NOT the same thing. Homeopathy is based on a system.
Thanks for the clarification 💚
Who exactly invented this as st least 6 people claim that honour 😅😂😮
I’m not sure who invented it but I get my recipes from several different blogs and then adjust them to my preferences. Was there a specific recipe from the video that you are interested in?
