- I only made a short to introduce my 2016 Bonneville T120 - which replaced my BMW R1200GS - so here is a combination of a proper introduction of the bike to this channel, and some of my thoughts after owning it for close to a year.

Triumph's are Rideable. I've put 135K km on my 2017 T 100. They look great too.
really enjoyed your style of presenting the bike. thanks for the insight
Glad you enjoyed it!
Ok it's not a Superduke...but rather nice nevertheless.
It's 43 years since I had a Unit engine T120 😁 Those satin finish engine cases are lush.
It is a surprise the OE wheels are not tubeless and Triumph are still cheaping out on front calipers.
There are various Kaoko and Atlas style "cruise control" type friction locks that work really well and honestly? the lack of electronic complication is welcome.
I hear you re the lack of electronic complications, but these already have all of those complications in place and all it really needs is the button to activate it.
I'm aware of the friction style/throttle lock cruise controls, had them on the GS and several other motorcycles. For some reason, I just never gelled with them.
I have that seat on my Speed Twin and I have to agree it’s fantastic, have you tried the Dart fly screen, it takes enough of the wind pressure off your chest to stop fatigue but still allows enough airflow to keep you cool and looks good, The Triumph twins do make great touring bikes
Thanks! I've not tried a Dart fly screen, but it's one of the screens I'm considering.
yes - i also have a dart marlin on my T120 and it works fine for me. best regards from vienna.
Good looking bike! Do you know what brand / model of windshield that is?
Thank you! I think it's a National Cycle F-15 screen, although so far I've not found anything that suggests they were actually available for the 2016 onwards ones. All I can find is info that they were available for the ones up to 2015. That said, it does say "F-15" on one of the mounts.
My 2016 bonnie T120 has the original Triumph cruise fitted so can be done.
Thanks for letting me know. My understanding is that there are some differences on the really early T120s, but I haven't checked if mine falls into that category.
@@garagemoneypit If your headlight has DRL, then you need triumph number A9638253 or A9638179, if without DRL you need A9638178.
A beautiful bike. I only wish Triumph had made the wheels tubeless. Do you miss the BMW R1200GS?
Thank you. While I haven't done the conversion myself, my bike has been converted to tubeless tires and my understanding is that it's not that hard to do.
Do I miss the GS? Actually, not that much. I don't generally ride off road other than the occasional unpaved road around here, so I don't need a GS and the Triumph does pretty much all I need from a bike and is as comfortable to me as the GS.
That said, I do like BMWs but I think if I get another oilhead BMW, I'm probably looking at a 1150RT or 1200RT instead.
I just bought a T100. Should have it in a couple of weeks. I am curious about you suspension. Are you happy with the Olins? What is the model? Did you change the front suspension as well??
I bought the bike with the upgraded suspension already in place and yes, the front forks also have upgraded inserts.
I do like the suspension on this bike a lot, but I've never ridden a stock T120 so I can't really compare.
Has the gearbox/gear selector problem ever been sorted out on the bonneville models?
That's something on my list of things to check. I'm not sure if there is an upgraded part available, but my understanding is that it's at least not that hard an issue to address if it happens. Well, at least if you've got breakdown cover and can get the bike home...
Get some bar end mirror’s 👍
With all due respect, there hard cases, especially the top box looks just awful on such a beautiful machine like Bonneville...
…somebody needs to go to gym 😂
top box looks like you stole it from grannys scooter
Granny has it on her scooter because they're practical :).
@@garagemoneypit true true true theyre practical . . . i got one but hated the look of it on my Scrambler, got a saddlebag which isnt as practical but works for me . . . cheers for the vid and reply 🙂
Show triumph t120 pls , not your face😂
