    The Idea that Dave Friedman thinks that his "lunchbox amp" is anything like a "pink taco" Is all you need to know.

    MT-15 is still the best value/sounding lbx out there. Great video! 🤘🏻😎🤘🏻

    All 3 are amazing amps, each one with their own voicings, but when in comes to small ENGLs, I think the Fireball 25 is a better choice than the Ironball (and yes, I'm probably biased as I have one XD). The FB25 has two 6L6 valves (so it has more headroom), a better more musical clean channel (at least in my opinion) and the Lead channel is powerfull and full, but unlike the FB100, the lows are more controlled and the gain more manageable. But the MT15 for the price is amazing.

    Yeah, the MT15 sounded the best. I still prefer the ENGL Fireball 25 over all these other LBX heads, but it costs more.
    I think I read somewhere the MT15 is actually putting-out around 27 watts. Someone measured it on an amp dyno.

      yeah! Wish they would make a lunchbox version of the Savage ENGL.

    I have had my Ironball for a while and it is still one of my favorite luncbbox amp as it has amazing saturation and gain for a tiny amp.

    I wish you also had the mesa boogie badlander 25 in there for comparison.

    Well done, Jarrod.....The MT15 holds up amazingly well after all this time. The Friedman is sorta its own sound. I don't think it's better or worse than the other two, but in mind is simply a different kind of amp. The Engl and MT15 seem more comparable. Depends on the sound you are looking for ......lots of guitarists have made careers out of Friedman (I think). Cheers bud...The Chicago Todd

    All sound great, the PRS held its own against the ENGL, fairly similar voicing. I’d pick the Friedman for rock, stoner, or doom stuff (out of the 3). I own an MT15 and I love it, always happy to see it Go head to head with amps 2-4 times it’s price 🤘🏼

      @TONEWARSgearshow  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Agreed. The Friedman is good for classic rock and doom. Pretty pricey though, especially considering it's only 1 channel.

      It's my favorite one. I grabbed it by accident haha. I was to lazy to go back upstairs and get the red one. It ended up working out good. I love the tuning (1/2 step down. )

    I need to try the ENGL in person, but I'm not hearing anything to pull me away from my MT15. The PT definitely is the odd man out with its Marshall like mid voicing.
    Three days to go until I order my 50 watt Stealth.

    Ironball for me, that thing sounds savage!!

  • @jaykafcas4342

    It’s the 6L6’s coupled with those MONSTER transformers.
    It’s almost not a fair contest.

    I see you sold your Fireball man and you kept the Savage! In the video the Friedman is the best sounding. What you think?

    • @TONEWARSgearshow
      @TONEWARSgearshow  ปีที่แล้ว

      I still have the Fireball. It's just not on my shelf.
      It'll be up for sale soon though.
      Out of the 3 amps in the video, the MT15 sounds the best IMHO

    Nice shootout J. The pink taco is more suited for classic rock, not modern high gain like these others. The more appropriate Friedman amp in this shootout would be the Jake E Lee or new Steve stevens amp but Friedman doesn’t offer lunchbox versions of those so moot point.

    • @TONEWARSgearshow
      @TONEWARSgearshow  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'd love to try the SS and Jake models. I realize that the pink taco was more of a classic rock amp but I know people wanted a comparison with it so I figured I would do it.
      I'm so grateful that motor city guitar allowed me to do these demos with the amplifiers.

    Got a question , i play a helix through power cab and have a few tube combos but looking for a half stack type set up and dont realy think i need a monster 100 watt and im Looking at some of these 20 to 50 watt style amps , i like 5150 sound but what would you recommend in this field of awesome amps , between say ironball or friedman jj , what do you think is a good quality metal type sounding amp that can carry its weight with practicing with band over drums n all for say between $1500 and $2000 , any suggestions its so hard to really get a solid feel over listening to video reviews

      I'd pick the Ironball over the Friedman. The MT15 is really the best value in the LBX category. 2 great channels, and it'll keep up with a drummer
