    Great video (+ your fist scrubber video). Learned a lot and has me rethinking my scrubber system.

    I just got the reef octopus brand skimmer lid for this and there’s no holes in the lid and it’s setup for this. Pretty nice.

    Thank you for sharing! This video is exactly what I was looking for for a Co2 scrubber! Just ordered a bunch of the items.

    Loved the video and the details along with the links to purchase the necessary materials. How would I configure if I only run 1 Scubber? I think I figured it out, just would like to confirm...also with running only 1 Scrubber do I need to run 2 hoses out of the Skimmer lid or will 1 hose be sufficient? Thank you

    Where I live it’s a more damp climate in ny. I had to add a second chamber before the media chamber to catch condensation before over soaking the media

      WOW, I have the opposite problem here, when I don't recirculate. Now that I am recirculating the media chamber does pool water at the bottom and I will need to drain. Haven't had to switch media yet, but hoping I can drain when that is needed instead, other wise I will need to do what you did. Do you need to do this for a regular scrubber or recirculating one?

    hi, did you connect your BRS scrubber out port to the skimmer? The scrubber have two ports labeled,, the in and out port. I am confuse as to which port goes to the skimmer? Please advise. Thanks.

    Greetings friend, could you help me with something about the selenoid? I installed the same one that you have but I notice that it gets hot, is that normal or is there a problem, your help would be very helpful. Thank you for your time.

    Are the brass fittings reef safe ? I would think those fittings being brass is not good for the reef seeing there’s copper in that metal.

    How hot does that solenoid get when it's open for a while? Not sure it's made for this kind of use.

    • @jamescampise6590
      @jamescampise6590 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I ordered the solenoid and the coil gets very very hot after 5-8 minutes of continuously being open. For this alone I’m not sold on adding it to my sump just yet. I don’t care how high the ph goes I’d rather not burn my house down

  • @jtisle506
    @jtisle506 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Quick question. Does the Skimmer line raise when switching to the soleniod because of the ability for more air to be drawn in? The skimmer must have decreased air pull through all that tubing and C02 reactor? Let me know I am currently trying to set a c02 scrubber up.

    • @reefingainteasy3754
      @reefingainteasy3754  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi JT, that is a great question, something I didn't even think about. I ran some test and to my surprise, no. Which is really counter intuitive, been scratching my head as to why not, and here is some reasoning as to maybe why. First the air leaving the skimmer does come out with some pressure, so perhaps I just got lucky and the length of the tubes and everything for my system is just right to where the extra amount of force the skimmer needs to suck air in is matched by the extra pressure created by the air being pushed out. If this is the case, then it will really depend on your specific set up and length of tubes. Another theory is the pump is powerful enough to get the air it needs, or the difference is so little I can't even notice it. Or maybe its a combo of both of these things. Hope that helps.

    How did you manage to connect the wiring between the solenoid valve and the electrical cord?

    • @reefingainteasy3754
      @reefingainteasy3754  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It takes 120V so just used a regular lamp cord with two wires and connected the two wires. I plugged the lamp into my apex to control on off

    How often do you change out media before and after

    • @reefingainteasy3754
      @reefingainteasy3754  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have only had to change it once and it lasted 5 weeks. But I live in CO and there was the largest fire ever hear really close to my house that lasted that whole time, which stripped the air of oxygen, so I pretty sure this second round of media is going to last much much longer I installed in Sept 29th and changed the media Nov. 5th and the 2nd batch its still going strong and looking good today.

    • @reefingainteasy3754
      @reefingainteasy3754  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      1st time with wild fire stripping oxygen from air next to my house 37 days. Second time with normal conditions 74 days!!... My PH dropped to 8.16 at night, I let it go a couple days and it still gets to 8.3 during the day but dropped to 8.13 last night, and I going to change today so 74 days till first big drop at night I changing today which is 76 day..... Huge money saver!... I learning a lot about Alk consumption relative to my PH and finding some stuff I was not expecting need to do some more test but will be making a video on that eventually.
