I am glaz main and the clutches that I can pull off are insane, he is (imo) one of the best ops rn, and is extremely powerful when you know when to wait and when to push, what angles to hold where people might be, and the right time to smoke or change weapons. I personally use the PMM, cuz its really good
I’ve realized the fraging capability of glaz in the past few weeks, I love playing him in ranked because your teammates judge you on your pick right away, but once I get 2-3 kills I don’t hear them complaining anymore
Yeah Glaz is really fun right now. He may not be as strong as he used to be but he is still good
Glaz was also one of the few operators where running suppressor was actually worth it before the buff.
I think he’s pretty underrated pick right now. Three speed nades with a pocket smg, with a Gonne-6 and smokes as options. Plus the suppressor buff really helped him out as he was one of the few operators that really benefitted from it before the change. Been having a lot of fun with him recently.
He’s rated right where he needs to be, in a game of mostly close range gun fights, with firerate being one of the most important gun stats, having a Dmr/sniper can really put one at a disadvantage
@@cordova2593 exactly. He's only "necessary" on Plane, and he's only really strong on open maps like Oregon, House or Clubhouse. Anywhere else feels like hardmode.
Since year 1 I've wished for Glaz to get a VSS as an option. The recent SMG was a cool addition and fits the role a VSS would have but would have been cooler to have a new weapon that fit the full auto role while still technically being a 'sniper' maybe scope on made it single shot or something but every game with the VSS/VAL I have to use it such a cool looking and sounding weapon.
That would strip him of his sniper feeling if they just gave him an assault rifle with a thermal. It just sounds like you played too much MW and wanted it in siege.
VSS is a DMR, you're thinking of the AS VAL.

As/val is a FULL AUTO ar with an integrated suppressor
if you want to judge someone about guns, maybe learn some of the guns beforehand
@@insomniagobrrr5542 They're literally the same gun. The VSS is an AS Val with a fixed stock and a sniper scope mounted on it.

I just started watching your videos and I gotta say, it's really nice to see this type of content on siege, I think you might be the only one that makes this type of videos. Your videos have a good pacing and interesting. You exactly know what you're talking about because I saw too many TH-camrs whom had no idea what they were talking about and just have a black and white point of view
Yeah these type of story videos are only really made by the scoreesports but I am trying my best to seperate myself from their stuff. I honestly got the inspiration to do these videos from a tf2 content creator his name is @listertf2. He makes top tier videos that are like hours long and it inspired me to do it in siege. Their just isn't as much history to siege and its operators

Yeah I did one on Blackbeard, Ying, Lion, Alibi, and Ela already. But I definitely plan on doing more in the future

Glaz is actually still amazing. I've been playing him on attack like an ol' reliable kinda like Rook. I just grab the defuser and smokes and then if I get the chance, I plant with my smokes thrown out, and my friend, as Ying, is watching my back and throwing out their candelas and/or smokes and then I watch the smokes cause if somebody's gonna try and sneak through they can't see me but I can see them and this happens a surprising amount. Like people walk through smokes a surprising amount when I'm Glaz. Also I've seen people playing Glaz a lot more recently and likely for the exact same reasons. The high damage DMR that is very spammable with a thermal sight and the Bearing-9. You just have to know when to plant, but otherwise, there isn't much the defenders can do. Sure Warden exists but he also has to stand still to see through smoke, and because Glaz is already looking through, Warden always dies from Glaz, so Warden is obsolete here. This exact reason is why Warden should be like old Glaz where he can run around as much as he wants and be able to see through the smoke. It would be an amazing counter for Glaz's resurgence and make Warden useful
i still remember phantom sight most fondly. even though it was a bad season. i love warden and the seasonal skins were my favorite. i was probably playing my best back then too

very underrated pick in my opinion, can destroy hard utility and is really useful for soft walls and hatches too with his DMR, and I think he really could work in this swing heavy meta, as he can sit back and play off defenders swings, but can also push in and be a great entry frag option for your team.

I feel like giving him a 1.5x scope would be an interesting change for him. Allowing him to hold super long sightlines when his flipsight is up (like other dmr operators can with the 3x scope) and when his flipsight is down he has a really solid close/midrange scope

Alright, from probably one of the only Glaz mains in siege, I respect that you made a video for him.
Glaz is especially an underrated character, since barely anyone ever picks Warden, and there isn’t too much counters to a two tapping, 15 round sniper.
as a glaz main I agree he is heavily underrated and now he has quite a versatile loadout. But he still is situational knowing that he lacks a good amount of support and his fragging potential isn’t too good compared to say ace. But he’s definitely okay, I’d give him C
Glaz really could use his full potential when they changed smoke granades in a way that you can't see at all through them

a dedicated glaz main here. even when he was at his low i never betrayed my boy. and after the recent buffs i am still in love with him. i am also the kind of player who runs twitch with 417 but with the hipfire nerfed a little i am now sad as i now have to run red laser or simply go always while ADS'ing

I play glaz on most maps and main both Glaz and Sledge.
Glaz with smokes used to be the play but Frags and SMG make him beefy...
Underated pick and he really can pull mad weight, especially a 3 speed now

I really like these history videos of yours. You keep it very objective without putting any personal bias into it and it is very well researched featuring many changes that I have even forgotten now. I like the pacing of the video as well as the editing showing off the points you are currently talking about.

always been a fan of glaz, its just stupid that he has an option for frag grenades he should only have smokes. Its just a lazy way for ubi to give ops frag grenades that dont get played
Yeah I agree. They do the same thing with gonne-6 and emp impacts. I feel like now they use those gadgets as ways to buff operators without having to fix the problems at their core
@@BMP so true man cant word it better. they need to realize that maybe, sometimes they have to make the bad ops better and make them fun to play, that a fps doesnt suffer from fast gameplay and so
Yeah the Ubisoft balancing team have been missing a lot lately. I'm hoping they can turn it around in Year 8. But considering they are reworking frost idk if that'll happen
If I recall correctly; Glaz’s update actually happened during “Operation: Health” where the seasons were paused for 3-5 months before releasing Operation: Orchid.
^ they were fixing a lot with the game during Operation: Health and I remember Glaz’s update being their 2nd patch that season along the roadmap.
It made Glaz’s pickrate insane at first, literally Ash level when he was able to walk w/o losing thermal.
Nicely put together video. However, it is incredibly bold to claim Warden has had an influence on this game when he released
The only thing glaz lacks is a zoomed scope while not using the thermal sight, being able to use a 1.5x and 2x with him would be very fun
I remember playing the OG glaz maybe he was bad and had one of the worst gadet in the game but he still was my favourite operator it was so fun to play him and these headshots

I don't even think he necessarily needs a rework. He is kind of fine where he is right now. He just isn't as strong as he used to be cause he actually has counters

I literally just use him to push servers on Bank. He's one of those operators that you just pocket strat. More of a novelty but when he works he works.
No one really feels broken anymore, unlike OG Ash or Jäger.

Ash mains would really enjoy glaz tbh. His dmr can 3 shot barricades and it can be suppressed. Pair it up with the bearing 9 and frags, he’s theoretically a goated entry fragger

I've played Glaz since Blood Orchid, and I've seen everything since that season. I mained him since I started then, Operation Phantom Sight was his worst ever nerf and I felt it instantly. But the minor adjustments until Shadow Legacy really made him better, and honestly people do sleep on him. I rarely see anyone play him aside from myself, and even then I'm forced to play Kali because Thatcher is banned every game I play. But when all the team roles are fulfilled then I can pick glaz safely
Yeah Glaz really is slept on after all the buffs they gave him like being a 3 speed, having a gonne-6, and nades. Plus his scope is a lot better now

I am a dedicated glaz main and have been for years and I completely agree that he is a good entry Fragger. I don't even care about the smoke grenades, I only care for the thermal making it easier to see players. I can get way more kills with the bearing 9 and frags and plus I can fish with the 3 speed. I have climbed pretty easily up to mid to high plat using him. haven't played in about a year but the last time I got ranked (y7s2) I got high plat 2 and I only played about 30 or so games. plus I'm pretty iconic in my friend group for being the CEO of triple kills, quads and aces in most rounds. I'd consistently get 10+ kills per game from him
I think you missed the very short buff glaz got when his rifle would literally shoot so damn fast you could spam shots faster than pistols

I use glaz on chalet windows, if I want to rush plant or I use him on bank and watch my teammates backs, whenever I use him other people just love to swoop in and take him on round 2 to copy me, guess I make him look fun 😎

A fragging operator is someone that fills the job of playing aggressive. They typically take gunfights for their team early on in the round

Whatchu mean man I’ll run suppressed on his marksman rifle, use it to break down barricades and run into sight with the bearing 9. Insta 2-3 kills guaranteed if you have somewhat decent aim.

The nerf on Glaz's scope to this day still makes no sense and I absolutely hate it. Not for gameplay reasons but simply because of how stupid the change was. We have heat vision scopes in real life... we have had them for a long time. So why don't they exist in game? Why does Glaz need to stand still to use his heat vision? It makes no sense in practically any regard. Glaz wasn't even OP anyway, half the people that use him can't even aim.
You definitely didn't play when the smoke meta was a thing. It was so frustrating to hear a smoke go out and then die to a 3 speed that had perfect vision through said smoke. Your best chance was to run or to throw a c4 and hope you'd kill him. Also using real life stuff to make an argument about a balance change in a video game is dumb

Coastline is such a bad map it’s literally tdm they need to rework the map I can’t roam on it because there are too many angels to hold. You either get shot from skylight or wall banged.

Frags aren’t worth using on glaz anyway

unfortunately for console players, we still have terrible hit reg, to the point cav's pistol only registers 2/5 shots fired, DMRs register damage too late, and knifing is the most unorthodox and useless thing to resort to, also his recoil on the 5x scope is hard to control on joysticks so its much more difficult to land those pixel counters. Ive also noticed when opponents are highlighted, it doesnt always include their hit box, so you may be shooting at a yellow doc with the rick headgear, or a ponytail on Azami, but neither will register. i find that to be awful especially when at range you dont see details like that, so you mag-dump something that is impossible to hit.
TL:DR, he wont be good in console, and i play glaz more than all my friends, and the reason is because console has shit hit reg and cosmetics fuck with your thermals.
I just don’t think he’s a good operator because he has no team benefits other than frags, would rather take sledge or Flores for utility clear/ frags

I love playing glaz slap a silencer on that Marksman rifle and it's great since the enemies can't even shoot you back since they don't know where in the smoke you're shooting from and even warden really ain't that big of a problem for glaz considering glaz is most likely already staring trough his sight trough the smoke meaning if warden put his glasses up the glaz can shoot him way faster since you know the glaz is already staring down that site line with the smoke grenade on it
