Nigel Anthony's very good - and something of a veteran of BBC radio productions... Ironically, though he had a TV career too I'm really not sure I'd recognise him until he spoke...
Very good! Well written - compelling, but I wonder (like one of the other comments) why people kept the picture? Is that part of its curse?! Thank you for posting 😊
Susan Hill's ghost story reveals the background to a mysterious depiction of masked revellers at the Venice Carnival which hangs in the college rooms of a Cambridge professor. Read by Nigel Anthony
Very nice summary without giving away the PLOT, something with which takes a finesse when giving more than a sentence of summary. I remember my film professor raising “holy hell” at the lack the capabilities of students being able to complete a 5 paragraph essay this way. I think of this when I see film trailers basically show the whole film and other film trailers that plant a seed of desire to understand the “plant” as it were. Anyway, your comment reminded me of this. Cheers!
Does it really matter to the story, I think not; it’s superfluous non-sense, distracting one from the substance within. It takes more to invest in the engagement of contextual relation to what is of pertinent value, than to have a cheap cheep at the descriptive details. I guess, sadly, that’s about the kind of time given to such an intricately developed story about a painting these days; now, if the story was on the character’s physical motivations or relative emotional context then one might think this a very intriguing comment to explore based on the text and might uncover some knowledge & wisdom behind the art of a character.
Iv seen wonderful tv & film adaptations Yet I enjoyed this radio version so much Ty for sharing this classic

I’d be happy to have you explain it if you’re willing…

Chillingly reminiscent of my experiences while trying to get rid of a signed Trump coffee mug I'd bought from a goodwill shop for 50c.
You could have got Biden for 10c !
Did you ever get rid of it? I’d be interested to hear that story it sounds amusing
I also want a story.
He's in your head 24 hours a day haunting you. I bet you suffer from ED because of him 😂
@@2msvalkyrie529no one with any sense would pay that unless you'd run out of toilet paper
Why do these knuckleheads keep the picture? Jeez. Anyway, thank you for posting these programs!
Exactly! I am like..... Just burn the damn picture already!

" Cambridge bachelors "..? Hmm. A euphemism ?
