I've been using the older blue Orbit with the hydrant handle on top for years and LOVE it!! ½" and ¾" fittings, huge flow, good control and surprising power from a standard hose gun👌👌👌
Perfect timing for this video because I'm looking for a new hose sprayer. I currently have a thumb control sprayer, but when the thumb control is set to full on, I have to remove my grip from the sprayer in order to reach the thumb lever to adjust the water flow and that is a pain. It looks like that Orbit unit is the way to go. Keep up the great work Keav!
Keav, I bought the Orbit and it is amazing! I can't believe the amount of water flow and it's so much better than anything else I've ever used. Thanks for recommending it. @@CarsWithKeav
@@JoelSc14 I personally like the shower setting. It seems to give the most water flow. But if you like higher pressure, one of the other settings would be better.
Keav, thanks for doing this review. The Orbit is great, bought one last week. I've got probably 6 or 7 nozzles of this style. The Orbit is excellent, feels heavy duty in comparison and has GREAT water flow. I'm loving it so far!
I hadn't thought about the nozzle and the impact on the flow with a garden hose prior to watching this video. Gave me something to think about and definitely consider to upgrade. Great content.
Thanks, I usually use the Gilmore ones like you had because of that center flow that gives a good final rinse. Its shower is pretty weak. I only have 58psi water pressure in my house but I ordered that Orbit to see if it gives me a nice upgrade
The Gilmour has the best center pattern I have seen. I just don’t use that pattern much usually stick to the shower. We all like our different pattern types that’s for sure just based on the responses today. Some like the cone pattern as well.
Thanks. I have a fairly large property and the challenge has been to find hose connectors/accessories that do not reduce flow rate. Nobody talks about the inner bore of the piece - some are as small as a 1/4" while others can be 3/8 making a huge difference if you have them before a 400ft hose.
Yeah at that length pressure and flow drop becomes an issue. Correct not all inner diameters are created equal. You need good inner diameter hoses as well at that length.
I’ve been using a regular non adjustable squeeze type for washing my car. Goes from fan to jet depending on how hard you squeeze. The orbit looks promising though
They work well my only problem with squeeze ones is sometimes you get hand fatigue having to squeeze for so long. Of course have not found the perfect sprayer yet for the garden hose. They all have some type of flaw.
The fireman one I have you won’t find. It has a separate flow control from the twist part. There are lots of fireman type nozzles on Amazon you looking for a specific kind?
It is quite good and only 50ppm so very soft water. A benefit of being in a rural area where there are not tons of people. Bad thing is the pressure can get quite crazy and blow my pipes. I have to have pressure regulators on the house lines.
Have you tried the Home Depot Husky ones? The Husky Fireman Nozzle Lever one caught my attention. How does it compare to those? Also Orbits higher end Solterra that’s sold at Lowe’s how does those compare to that Orbit?
The one thing about the fireman type nozzles is they require lots of water flow to function properly. If you have lower pressure it just trickles out and barely sprays. Especially if you are using over 100 ft of hose the pressure drop off really hits. When I water my yard which I used to do with a fireman nozzle at 100 ft no problem, but when I decided to add another 100 ft the nozzle barely functions enough. These type of nozzle in the video will at least still have some type of decent spray pattern at lower pressure.
Where was it leaking? At the hose connection? Maybe a bad gasket? Just wondering to see if I can replicate the issue or not. Let us know how the replacement works.
Good Video overall BUT I look for solid recommendations. All I got was recommendations for 4 "I Like". Could you please at least RANK your 4 choices? What you would buy in a minute (1) what you would by as 2nd alternate - and then 3 and 4 for last choices above all other offered nozzles out there. Thanks. (This should come at the end of the video for good summary, personally.
Thx for the feedback. It’s hard to please everybody I get people that get mad if I don’t suggest their favorite and fight me in the comments so I tried to just give the info and let the viewer decide. I suggest the Orbit all day over the rest and they are all a way behind it.

@@CarsWithKeavExcellent. I was going to pull the trigger on one today but, I'll wait until you do your testing. Thank you for testing all these different products. WE, THE CONSUMER, could not do this ourselves, individually. So, thank you, again.👍👏
I think I asked on one of your other videos' you had a garden hose attachment which was the nuts, I wish you could say what one that was, (you where testing battery operated foamers)
Hey brother-man.. great video. I'm just a regular guy that wants to wash his own vehicles from time to time. My problem is low water pressure coming out of the hose. Will the Orbit improve my felt or perceived water pressure. Right now I'm using a $5 Walmart nozzle. Thanks for any advice.
It will not improve how the hose performs under low pressure. It is just utilizing all the water it can so if you have more pressure it’s going to do way better and achieve numbers others can’t. Actually a sprayer that limits flow might help with low pressure better.
There’s 100ft from my garden hose spout to where I wash my car. Should I get a 3/4 hose instead of a 5/8 for that length or does that not matter for pressure & GPM? I ordered the Orbit btw!
If going over 50ft I would always go with a 3/4 hose. I’m the garage the 5/8 is good, but in the yard outside I run 200 foot of 3/4 hose. Orbit is such a great sprayer best value out there.
I use the orbit on shower I just dial back the flow to 2.5 GPM. If you mean the pressure washer I don’t run DI through it usually only for the final rinse.
Final Cut Pro Voice Isolation at 50% during edit and a Rode Mic Pro make a good combo. It is an echo chamber in here. The Swisstrax help as well and I keep the curtain on the side open which helps with some of the echo as well.
Except the Orbit allows full flow and doesn’t restrict. That’s a big deal for me. Have not had them long enough to know long term durability yet, but many in the comments have had the Orbit for very long periods of time and it does well. The other ones I have not heard from others yet. They should do well which is why I picked metal ones. The plastic pattern switching part would be the weak point over time.
@@JeepJL Well, I already figured it out, but you got to store your water so you can pump it at a much higher GPM. I think even a good gravity feed would do well.
