I've been doing bonsai for 17years. I have been telling people for a long time use weed trees and shrubs for bonsai. Their success as weeds in your area will go well for your success in their cultivation. Believe it or not I have never cultivated Morus Sp. I am long overdue for using these trees for bonsai.

Mulberry trees are very princessy and don’t like being disturbed to much. I’m surprised it survived this. Not sure how you could bonsai a mulberry but good luck!

That’s so strange, maybe is my climate here in Australia, I’ve always been told not to mess with their roots. Maybe they where miss informed. It’s 5 years later now so I can safely say that it’s definitely better to work on them when dormant. I was obviously working on them while still active.

Hi to all Ma-Ke bonsai fans. Hoping for some help from the more experienced bonsai growers. I bought one of these trees & it was gorgeous, loads of little leaves that all fell off after repotting! It did grow more shoots, none were where the old leaves were but more towards the tips of the branches. Twice, I've let them grow & grow & then trimmed back a little, leaving new growth. I've also pruned the much larger leaves & both times all the smaller leaves left behind have turned yellow & died while continuing to grow new, much larger leaves. I know this is a moisture loving tree so I weighed it after I repotted while dry & again after watering, now I water it after half the added water has gone, if that makes sense. Any advice would be great.

Yes. I understand it. But on a video the tree overgrown leaves, and as I know - mulberry vegetation begins later. Are you repot this tree in late May? :)
