Glad someone else agrees with that. They wanted Eric Buell to make bikes their way. If they would have gave him full creative support Buell would still be Harley Davidson's super sport brand. I could only imagine what he would have done with the Livewire.
Always had the same opinion. They were badass when they first came out. I've always loved v twin sport bikes, I was in love with the rc-51, Ducati, Buell back in the day. You just can't beat their sound. Harley would have been unstoppable if they'd embraced Buell from the start. I still really want one, never had the chance to get one yet. I had a 96 fat boy when I was young, and when Buell came out with their bikes, I was like holy shit this is my dream bike. A fast harley.
If buell had put a conventional front brake on the XB12r race bike at the Daytona 200, McWilliams would have lapped the field and won handily, but as it was the crew couldn’t change the front wheel without a almost lap each time. I venture that if they’d won that race Harley’s (and potential buyers) opinions of their sport bike would’ve been different Buells are quick and torquey and had tons of innovationsthat got the center of gravity pretty low, like oil in the swing arm, fuel in the frame, exhaust and suspension completely under the bike. Buell is an amazing thinker in terms of performance and function, his EBR bikes were pretty amazing too. But perception of American sport motorcycles is pretty narrow minded and short sighted.
2:14 I'm from Wisconsin and honestly this depiction of us is mostly true. My stepdads family gatherings literally sound exactly like this, cheese curds and all.
Harley Davidson, the only motorcycle company who builds a modern bike with a liquid cooled engine and high HP numbers to appeal to “younger” riders and then prices it at 15-20k!!! Which immediately gets a 2-3k markup at the stealership! Great Harley! You built a motorcycle that young guys would love to have! They just have absolutely no way in hell of paying for it, so……never mind 🤷🏻♂️.
your kind of right i thought they were pretty expensive but it seems to only be the big twins that are really expensive went into the Harley shop to get oil and looked over a 2019 sportster 883 with about 5 delivery miles and sticker price was only 8k, and to me that does not seem to bad. however when i looked at the big twins i was like holy s**t. but to say all of them are the price of a car is inaccurate. the 1200 was just under 10k as well. i have no desire to buy a big twin as they are way to heavy for me. i own a 74 sportster 1000 xlch that has had a lot of motor work. bike weighs about 370lbs without me on it.

I like the way that Honda opened their Goldwing factory in the USA to beat the import tariffs as , for a very long time, that's where they were all made. Hardly Davidson has become the clothing company that makes motorcycles. Hardly Davidson the only company where you buy a motorcycle then spend just a much ,if not more, to get it to go properly. Also Marlon Brando rode a Triumph in that movie.

Perfect video. The pacing is incredible and the material is made impressive.
YES FINALLY. Not a Harley guy, but as a biker, I finally feel represented on this channel.
To be fair it IS a car channel
Harley guys don`t watch youtube, only fox...Harley`s a bike for the old ass silver haired trump cucks .
They need to do more motorcycles
Hyabusa story
@@jacoblake1524 why? They aren't a bike channel
if Harley would have embraced Buell - they would've been relevant to a younger crowd long ago.... but they didn't.
Yep I love the buells learned to ride on my dad's years ago. Gotta Suzuki SV now. Love the twins.
The xr750 could very easily be made to evolve into a street bike and dual sport, scramblr look is badass now
Glad someone else agrees with that.
I venture that if they’d won that race Harley’s (and potential buyers) opinions of their sport bike would’ve been different
Buells are quick and torquey and had tons of innovationsthat got the center of gravity pretty low, like oil in the swing arm, fuel in the frame, exhaust and suspension completely under the bike.
Not entirely I also live here I can understand the pack thing but the stereotypical accent that’s a bit much
@@bloodmoonentertainment5362 I dont know, it's just a very slight exaggeration lol. Depends where in WI you're from
Lol
My coworker is from Wisconsin. He says “oh yeah, you betcha” a lot and I finally realized it after watching this
Harley Davidson, the only motorcycle company who builds a modern bike with a liquid cooled engine and high HP numbers to appeal to “younger” riders and then prices it at 15-20k!!! Which immediately gets a 2-3k markup at the stealership! Great Harley! You built a motorcycle that young guys would love to have! They just have absolutely no way in hell of paying for it, so……never mind 🤷🏻♂️.
Others: Nooo, you can't just big block everything
'Murica: Haha displacement go brapbrap
Love this man haha 😂
Lol🐱
Some guy in Merica : what if we put the fastest production car v8 on a bike
Give us an up to speed on Yamaha, KTM and BMW! Plz
KTM! I had a 65cc KTM dirt bike
Mini Cooper Nation my first bike will be a 125cc KTM
yamaha is the best,
first to ever put 5 valves per cylinder
"Woodstock happened! *_Supposedly..."_*
That made me laugh harder than I should.
RonanNotRyan Yeah, that was the best joke of this episode.
The Wisconsin accent and references were spot on. Love it!
Up to Speed with: Husqvarna - Ducati - KTM - Kawasaki

Derrick Hansen International as a company too.
@@DUMPZILLA180 I like it
Harley: We want to appeal to younger buyers!
Also Harley: Lets price our motorcycles so that only boomers can afford them.
For real. How many young people can buy a motorcycle the price of a car?
your kind of right i thought they were pretty expensive but it seems to only be the big twins that are really expensive went into the Harley shop to get oil and looked over a 2019 sportster 883 with about 5 delivery miles and sticker price was only 8k, and to me that does not seem to bad. however when i looked at the big twins i was like holy s**t. but to say all of them are the price of a car is inaccurate. the 1200 was just under 10k as well. i have no desire to buy a big twin as they are way to heavy for me. i own a 74 sportster 1000 xlch that has had a lot of motor work. bike weighs about 370lbs without me on it.
Harley Davidson will fail. Bankruptcy will become their friend
@@Rob_Nasty like they said harley davidson has been through worse they will pull through that is why they are making three new bikes.
Not really true, they do have some models that cost $7K at least but I do agree that they are not the Harleys that you are thinking about.
Being from Wisconsin…. That impersonation was spot on😂😂
This is the best show on public access cable! I especially liked the "supposedly" Moon Landing/Woodstock joke.
What about Yamaha next? Their engines are just out of this world

I know this may sound silly, but can you do Vespa next? :)
Love this vids though.
Wasn't expecting this.... I like it.

I've only ridden on my Uncles Harley with him. I'm not a motorcycle guy but I am a history guy. Our Harley Dealership in town was forced to close down by 2/28/2021, because they aren't on the Interstate. They have been a Harley Dealer for over 60yrs and still run by the same family. Makes me wonder what GM and Chrysler will do to my family Dealership. We have been a GM and Chrysler store sine 1907 or 114 years still run by the same family. The manufacturers don't care.
Hells yeah....Indian or Triumph has to be next. Start with the old, work up to the new. 🤟🤟
Indian is the best
"We've never done a motorcycle before so let us know if we fuckes up!" We all know you guys neeeever mess things up. Y'all are too great for that.
They missed some cool and uncool shit from H-D's history:
· They once bought an Italian company for like 4 years. The Italians knew how to do MotoGp-style bikes so H-D gave them money and ended up becoming effectively a two-time 250GP champion.
Only American company to ever do that.
· Many years later, mainly due to Erik Buell, H-D tried to make a pure sportbike out of their XR750. The result? The more than questionable VR1000. It never won an AMA Superbike race.
· Erik Buell ended up making its own company (Buell), making sports and naked bikes with H-D engines, it failed but had some cool-looking bikes.
· H-D used to have a single-brand cup as a sideshow to AMA Superbike with their XR1200 muscle bike. They delivered some nice racing.
I'm not a H-D fan, I don't like the brand and 90% of its products, and I still know some important stuff they didn't mention. Also, they never mentioned the XR1200 muscle bike, which is the most "normal" bike from them.
Tell Jeremiah he needs "Mo POWAA BABY!!!"
And to have a "Lighting!" Speed recovery lol

Im 26 and I love the sporster, specially the 1200 custom
Ya man! I bought a forty eight! I'm really enjoying it! Just a solid get up and go kinda bike! I started on a rebel 500 and then I wanted something a lil more, but not one of those huge bikes! Sportster is a great all arounder!

Hmm. No mention of Buell. Great bikes and it’s shame Harley abandoned the brand.
Thanks for the videos. Incredibly entertaining and informative. cheers!
Buell may end up being its own video. This one was already 25 minutes long lol
That's a little misleading. Harley gave Buell to Erik Buell and still let them use their engines. Buell just could not sell enough bikes to keep up. He is still in the game with Electric bikes. If bikes dont sell Harley is not going to keep supporting them
Yes, more please!
Also, your next video should be arguably the best production bike ever built: Honda CB750
Or about the cbx1000 with its heavenly sounding 6 cylinder engine
