I don’t want to be that guy that debunks this, because it’s really cool and fascinating, but can you confirm this is his IEM mix? Cos he’s not onstage for these cues. Sounds like it’s just a feed to the ghouls for their bows, and it’s what they’re hearing rather than Tobias. I’d love to be proven wrong though. Either way it’s cool!
Of course! I wouldn't label it if I wasn't mostly sure - I'm about 99.5% sure that it is! I have an entire setlist worth of the same IEM and the dead giveaways (to me, at least) are the fact that his vocals are the highest in the mix, the click track seems to add up, and the count-in for some songs' lyrics (even when the backup vocals aren't on) are audible; cueing him to sing. There are also count-ins for some songs in general, such as Square Hammer, Mummy Dust, and Mary On A Cross I hope this answers your question! :)
Uisce, you know just as well as I that there is normally only one click track with cues, and it’s just a matter of how much you have it mixed into your personal monitors. Could very well be his mix still.
Thank you for these In-Ear vids. I don't really know how stuff on the stage works so I find them really interesting and fascinating. I saw them at a festival last summer, Tons of Rock, so I got to see them set up the stage which I also found very interesting. I really hope you share more of these videos, all. 😉😁
Ugh this is one of my favorite songs and def my fav from Impera, the ghoulettes sound SOSO good 😭 Also, I never thought about how they timed the spotlight moments during this song, this is an eye opener wow!!
I have the entire setlist with only Tobias' IEM and a few songs have cues, it's very interesting to hear and I may share more with you all sometime - potentially even full songs.
Do you have sodos in-ear mix by any chance? I met him a few years ago and asked him about his mix and he told me that it's very unique because he has nearly only click and his guitar. Can you confirm or even share it? your uploads help me find all little nuances of a song. Thanks for that!
Hey! Thank you! I might have his IEM mix from the same show, but if not I'll probably throw together a remake as I know a lot of stuff about his mix, his playing, etc. which I can put towards the latter if I was to do it. I met him in 2022 and from what I remember he said pretty much the exact same thing except the drums are a little higher, lead vocals, and rhythm guitar is also a little higher. I also have a basic grasp of other's IEM mixes; Laura's is also pretty unique.
