    Dry healing is the best in terms of letting the ink settle more into your skin. I dry healed for 24 hours when I got mine.

    Staying hydrated is so important for skin healing. I religiously drink pints of green tea and drink lots of water on a daily basis. I drank more in the build up to tattoo day and post tattoo. All good for me with wet healing mixed with a bit of dry healing but always covering at bed time with a layer of moisturizer. I wash and moisturize at least 3 times per day.

    I know some artists do prefer dry healing, however biologically speaking, for skin to heal in wet (moist) conditions are way better, because in that "wet" condition, the cells migrate faster and spawn way faster, witch leads to less scaring, better skin condition, faster wound healing. The cells create skin way faster. Scabs are not safe results for our skin. Yes, they do form, but after the scabs, you can get a skin/tissue scaring, the wound will heal slower and can cause parmanent damage. I was consulting to medical specialists and they do that in medical healings - use the moist healing.

      Great info!
      One of the reasons we started Sorry Mom was to provide the tattoo industry a safe option that made the healing process safer and faster. We respect people that advocate for dry healing, but based on data provided from different medical research, we stand by the fact that wet healing is the better alternative 🙂

    What product would you recommend to put on a new tattoo to keep it moisturised. I’ve been using palmers cocoa butter ointment

    • @cl0ver875
      @cl0ver875 หลายเดือนก่อน

      palmers is good, if it’s the unscented option. i’d also recommend bepanthen tattoo if you can, it’s a bit thicker than cocoa butter so it’s going to dry in slower and moisturise for a bit longer. really depends on the size and style of your tattoo though, using both together is usually my go-to, cocoa butter after the shower, than bepanthen when re-applying and washing just the tattoo

    Hey bro i did wet healing, did the 3 washes a day followed by hustle butter. During the peeling phase the darkest areas were far more itchy than the rest. Noticed those same spots are now scarred. My first tattoo did the same on the black lines. So the areas are raised a lil few years later. Im afraid itll do the same for this current tattoo

    • @SorryMomTattoo
      @SorryMomTattoo  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yo bro. The darkest area could potentially be a bit "overworked" which has caused more trauma on your skin in these areas. If they healed up "too light" I would definitely go book a touch-up with the artist. He/she is most likely happy to do it free of charge if the tattoo is fairly new.

    • @SorryMomTattoo

      Lets Hope, that it turns out great anyways! You might still be able to start moisturizing it now? For your next tattoo i would 1. recommend you to purchase a tattoo balm before getting tattooed, or make sure u can purchase it at the tattoo stuido 2. research your artist before getting tattooed. An artist recommending you not to do propper aftercare often isnt the best and i would question hes professiolism.

      You must wash it. Otherwise bacteria builds. This is why researching prior to getting a tattoo is so important. There is much contradictory information. It's important to find the balance. I totally believe in wet healing but allowing the new tattoo periods of airing, without moisturizer and then with a thin layer of moisturizer (after 3 days) but always covering at bed time, with the moisturizer (for first two weeks at the very least).

    I have had two major infections from tatoo's, the main thing is, wash it with antibacterial soap, I stress do not let it dry, depending were it is, use vasoline, wrap it up with cling film and take off wash and repeat. Everyones skin is different, trying to find the right balance is hard, if you feel the tight cracking dry sensation, then wet heal it. If your ok on day three of dry healing then carry on, hope this helps.
