Burning the kitchen down is nigh impossible in the Sims 4 and if you remove the pool ladder they just clamber up over the side. Sims 4 < any other Sims game
I would argue that grilled cheese is one of the most iconic Sims dishes.
I'm not sure about later versions, but in Sims2 it's possible to get Grilled Cheese as your sim's aspiration. All the wants they roll are things like "make grilled cheese", "eat grilled cheese", "talk about grilled cheese". They even gain the ability to paint pictures of grilled cheese. For funsies, I once created a witch with the grilled cheese aspiration and gave her a house on a beach lot. She was a sand witch. 😄
@@bumblebee560 , there's actually a grilled cheese aspiration in the Sims 4, but you have to eat a whole lot of grilled cheese in quick succession to reveal it.

Wait, is the sim in this video made in the character customisation in the game? I thought it was a new one made by the Sims dev team for this sponsorship. Either babish looks more generic than I realised for the sim customisation is better than I thought. You can probably tell I don't play sims, I think the last time I played was on the ps2.
@@lisahenry20 I definitely believe he could be made on the Sims, especially with all of the stuff packs. The apron is a normal item, black pants are abundant, and he's bald with a generic (but nice) beard. Wouldn't be surprised if the dev team helped with the face though.

You need to unlock the mysteries of the recipe from Sims 3: Goopy Carbonara: a dish whose main ingredient is ONION, something not used in a traditional carbonara recipe.

The salting-and-compressing technique also makes for a killer cucumber sandwich. I do that plus make an herbed cream cheese and use nice bread (I last made it with a super tasty rosemary bread) and it makes them absolutely delicious.
The Sims special is just setting his oven on fire then taking a shower.
And forgetting the baby for 10 days in the yard.
Whilst everyone else stays inside the burning house screaming, instead of escaping.

This probably goes without saying, but not only is Babish a great chef, but it’s also his ability to create fictional dishes and make them a reality, that makes him so iconic! He’s truly one of the stand out channels on TH-cam.

I found the ending incredibly inaccurate, as no Sim eats that quickly. Everyone knows Sims take at least 10 minutes in between bites!

I used to make Sims burritos based on what ya had to throw in the food processor in the Sims 2 for a burrito-
they were just grilled steak, grilled onion, and chunky avocado wrapped in a tortilla. it was BOMB

Ah the Sims where I can live out the insane fantasy of just being able to buy healthy food. No really getting a house where I live was easier then getting stuff Babish uses for cooking.
Baked Alaska is my favorite, my parents used to get me one for my birthday every year ! In France we call it Omelette norvégienne (norwegian omelet) 🥚
As an American, that's both really cool and pretty confusing. I've never seen Baked Alaska in my life, and I also have no clue why you guys call it the Norwegian Omelet. Maybe it's because of the eggs involved in making the merengue, as well as the fact that it tends to be very cold?

When my family makes eggplant parm we always fried the eggplant. It gives it a different texture and adds more flavor( if you add seasoning to the bread crumbs or flour

Today I learned that "Napoleon" is how Andrew pronounces "Neapolitan."
My grandpa did the same thing. I didn’t know it was actually pronounced the way it’s spelled until after he passed. Which I find strange bc Andrew is from New York and my grandpa was from the Deep South so i don’t think it’s a regional thing.
That’s how everyone I know and ever met pronounces it

4:55 that's because in the original italian recipe, you don't bread the aubergines, you just slice and deep fry them. That type of aubergines are called "melanzane alla tunisina" in Italy, and It Is a different recipe and count as an appetizer, very tasty, expecially if you put Mint in the bread crumbs

The Sims Mac & Chee is something everyone can make. This recipe is probably really delicious, but I'm pretty sure they use "The Blue Box" in game. (They did in Sims 2 & 3, anyway.)

How I wish I had had this tutorial the first time I attempted Baked Alaska. Looks terrific, Mr. Babish!
Fun fact: In Polish version of Sims 2 mac & cheese somehow got translated as cheeseburger and as "hamburger with cheese" in 3, confusing us all by having sims eat cheeseburgers from a bowl
maybe who ever translated it got the "mac" in mac & cheese confused with the "mac" sound in McDonalds hamburgers. thats the only thing I can think of that makes sense.

I mean, I've seen people add hamburger meat (ground beef) to mac and cheese, that's an actual dish... but I'm not sure that's what they were going for. And I wouldn't call it "hamburger with cheese." Maybe "hamburger mac."

If The Sims 4 sponsored him, they should at least give him a Simlish dictionary.
Although there are specific Simlish words like "Sul Sul" for "hello" and "goodbye", Similsh isn't a made up language that has a dictionary. It's completely nonsensical as explained by them. Not every sentence is the same, it's very contextual and relies more on sounds and intonation than actual words.
