You are one of my favorite podcasters! I was so excited when your episode popped up. Your Wool Women are stunning. I'm so glad you are feeling better and have found your wooly rhythm again. I also love this time of year and have come to think of it as my Womb Time with Mother Earth. I am sending healing energy your way. Happy knitting 💚🧶🩷
Womb Time with Mother Earth 🌍❤️ I truly have the most beautiful souls watching my podcast. Thank you for your deeply touching message, I'm so grateful for your being here. Sending best wishes to you during this mystical and liminal time. It is a precious season indeed.
i am so excited I just found you. As my husband is suffering cancer for 6 years, I am looking for ways to give myself joy. I am a knitter and spinner and loved all your words. I will look forward to chatting with you and watching your journey in this world. Such joy you bring.
I am so happy to find a knitter that feels the same grief I feel. You have a soothing voice and graceful way about you. Thank you for sharing your comforting ways.
The jumper looks lovely and I love the brushed dresses on the wool women. Thank you for podcasting with joy. It’s always nice to see someone enjoying themselves while doing something they love ❤
You're so kind, thank you for saying that! It makes me feel truly satisfied know that the joy that lives in these moments comes through to those who are watching and spending time with me across the inter-waves 🙏🏾❤️
You’re so eloquent and a joy to listen to. You were definitely a Viking woman in your past life. It shines through your presence. Fantastic how you were reincarnated into such different circumstances, yet the Viking woman is present.
Wow wow! That is the most amazing thing to hear! And, may I say, you're not the first to have said this. I've always felt the most incredible and inexplicable connection to the far northern places of the western eurasian continent. Magical indeed, these journeys we go on. ✨✨🙏🏾
I discovered the magic of spinning and knitting this year, after some very painful times. It has been a salvation of sorts. So I connected a lot with your words in this podcast. I am glad things are getting better for you and that you have found your creative voice again. The wool women personify that, without a doubt.
Oh that is so true! It's really is a magical quality of these ancient crafts, that we can heal so deeply from such grief through the seemingly most simple motions of knitting and spinning. Thank you for your kind words 🥰🙏🏽
So good to see you again, Daki! Beautiful sweater! And I absolutely LOVE your little women...you put so much love, thought and care into making them. I am also an immigrant mother living in the US and have experienced holding on to my children so much that it almost broke me. You are right, the reason is lack of support from what you know and feel safe within. Can relate so much to what you were saing about the freedom and joy of being yourself again! Continue healing and loving youself and enjoy the magic of winter! Ewa❤🧶🎶
Oh I feel your heart song and the resonance with my own, so deeply through your words today. Thank you, thank you. You know not how much the connection and recognition means to me. We feel so alone in these situations when we're in the thick of it. But we forget...that there's someone else who's walked a similar path and known the same heartaches. We are not alone in any of this. ❤️
Your jumper is so incredibly beautiful. I LOVE your wool women, so amazing. So glad that you've created something, that has brought back the magical nature of wool. And that these lovely women are a reflection of you and your grandmother. I do miss my Nan, she was so loving and made me feel important and loved.
Oh I hear you! She passes through my mind and heart all the time. Daily. Thank you so much for all your kind words, and for making time to stop by for me today ✨🙏🏽
So happy to hear you're feeling better! I absolutely adore those dolls that you made. I too have embraced of letting go and acceptance. I turned 53 this year and my hair has been slowly but surely changed color/texture. I made the decision to step away from the norm and to embrace the change and not dye my hair. I truly think that there is so much beauty in aging women.
Yes!! Much power to you! There is no liberation greater than the one we give ourselves, when we choose to accept and love ourselves through all the phases of this precious life. Thank you for stopping by and sharing. I'm watching my hair texture become something I never imagined it would be. Allowing and allowing. ❤️✨
I am soo happy that you are feeling better! And also, that I get to see you again after such a long time. Thank you for sharing your time with us. It truky was a treat!
I love your podcast. Living in the far west of Ireland, I love getting these glimpses into other beautiful lives. Sorry that life has been tough. Wishing you well.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart. It's such a lovely feeling knowing that beautiful people like you are connecting to me from across the world ❤️✨
It is wonderful that you are here with us sharing your story and passion to fiber. l love watching and listening to you. The calmness in your voice is very soothing. You are my inspiration, one of the people truly make me think what type of maker/designer in craft world I want to be. You are so right about sharing the joy. Let's the joy be our guide when possible of course. Massive hug from Ireland :-)
You're so sweet Anna, thank you from the bottom of my heart 🥰 It means to much to me that these little videos give you some joy and comfort in the viewing. Joy is definitely the leading light for me, now and forever. Massive hugs back to you! ❤️
Welcome back to my screen, dear Daki!!! It's a joy to see you and hear your voice again. Whenever you post a video, I am grateful. Please don't push yourself or rush back if you aren't ready. Keep this momentum concentrating on joy first. You are a gift to all of us, your voice ensuring us that we are all part of one, glorious world...but sometimes we are hurting and that is part of the journey. Thanks to you, we know we're not alone. Every joy and Blessing in this season of light. Hugs from Canada.
I wish I could put into words how reading your message made me feel. the sense of belonging, the welcome and the celebration.... What can I say, other than Thank You, from the bottom of my heart ❤️🥰🙏🏽✨✨
It’s so wonderful seeing you filled with joy and good health! You were just the ticket to bring me comfort today. You jumper is magnificent and glowing on you. Take care dear Daki, and all the best to you and your beautiful family this season. Lisa 🥰
Hello lovely Lisa! 🥰 So pleased as always when you drop by the podcast! I'm so relieved to be on the other side of all the muck of this past year, health issues included. Without the muck there's no lotus. 🪷 Is what we say on my little mother Island. I'm so blooming ready to center joy and Life again! Sending so much love and bestest wishes your way ❤️❤️✨
It is such a joy to hear from you again! I’m so glad you are on the mend and were able to overcome your health struggles. I appreciate you coming back with another episode full of beauty, wisdom and authenticity. I felt very touched by the way you hold space for both grief and magical joy at the same time. It must feel liberating to reclaim delight in your art expression when your heart feels so heavy with the weight of injustice and hardship. It resonated with me so much, as I’m trying to find my way to my artistic authenticity. Your woolen matriarchs hold so much beauty and made me think of all the wise women i was surrounded with in my childhood back home. I really hope to hear for you again soon. Your words are a balm to the soul and your intentionality with fiber art is very inspiring. 🧡
Meryeme, it is truly a joy and a humbling honour to be witnessed in this way. To read your words and to come into that sudden but uplifting realization that someone has 'seen' you and 'recognised' you... it's the ultimate joy. It makes me feel so connected to you. I am so grateful for your presence here and grateful for every moment of resonance you felt while watching this episode. 🙏🏽❤️🙏🏽✨
Your sweater turned out beautifully! It's always nice to see you again in this space. I hope the new season is one of much more light and ease for you.
How lovely to see you again! My knitting and crochet always helps me to feel better. The rhythm is calming and brings you back to yourself. Amongst other things I am crocheting a cotton granny square jacket for the summer, next year. I am looking forward to your next and hope you continue to regain your strength 🧶
A granny square jacket is definitely something I want to make as well! They always look so fabulous and comfy! Thank you so much for stopping by the podcast today 🙏🏽
Hello Daky, wonderfull to see you again and share the joy for our wooly passion! Especially love your woolwomen - they are magical. Warm greetings for you and your family
Thank you for stopping by again! It means so much to me when I see faces who've stuck around despite my long gaps in releasing videos. I'm so grateful 🥰🙏🏽
This is my first time watching your podcast, and I must say that it absolutely resonates with me; one of your viewers commented about feeling like a stranger in her own land. After everything that has happened, it went straight to my heart, that is exactly how I feel and how you are , whatever happened in the last year, you have picked yourself up and found the joy again and pass it around and share it with all of us. How wonderful! I am a great Jacob sheep lover myself! I have a friend who has a flock and I have made so far three blankets knitted from it. Everybody in our household wants a Jacob blanket whenever they feel the beginning of a cold, they sit by the fire and most of the time they feel better. I’m subscribing right now, thank you.❤
Wow! What a fantastic message! Thank you for these beautiful, generous and kind words to me, and for making time for me and my podcast. We all have to pick ourselves up and just shine the brighter with joy, dont' you think? Now is the time for it. I hear about Jacob wool. Such pure magic! A blanket made of Jacob...swoon!...I can only dream of something that precious! Hopefully someday. 🥰🙏🏾
Thank you so much for showing your beautiful Wool Fairies. I looked on TH-cam as you suggested and made one tonight. I am a spinner, too, so I used fiber I had. I made her hair out of very curly white mohair locks. I try to knit Christmas things every year but this year I think it will be Wool Fairies. I'm so glad you are feeling better and you are back to recording. I look forward to hearing about Helen. I love processing fleece so I know how much work it was to clean Helen. It's exciting!
Oh what a wonderful message this is! Thank you so very much! And you made a wool woman! They are such a joyful woolly make. I hope your festive season will be filled with these beauties. Thank you so much for watching and for making me feel so uplifted by your words. 🥰✨
So happy to se you again and it really sparkels around you, that energy that finally has come back to you. So happy for you. The sweater you are wearing is so beautiful. I absolutely adore it and find myself pondering about how I can make it for myself and how it can look as beautiful as yours. I have som Nutiden in a beige brown color and a very light beige pink that might do. So eager to start a new projekt. Thanks for all the inspiration you share. I love the way you express it all and it's so soothing to hear your voice. Looking forward so seeing you soon again, or whenever you will come back. Wishing you a joyful and beautiful festive season 🥰
Sounds like the Nutiden you have will be perfect for the Floresta! It really is a very well written pattern, and I encourage you to give it a go. The colour work portion just requires paying a bit of extra attention, that's all. The rest of the jumper is very straightforward. 🙏🏽✨
Hi! I found your podcast recently and subscribed. I absolutely LOVE you and your content. Your opening statements really touched me. I don’t know your backstory, but i have been living in a living hell in grief since my husband passed away after a very sudden illness April, 2023. Ive been knitting and crocheting for years. He absolutely loved watching me knit and was my #1 fan. He bought me a spinning wheel for my birthday in 2021. It sat because i was afraid to use it. After he passed away, my eldest daughter bought me a spinning class for Mother’s Day. I absolutely love to spin and has helped me so much in my grief. He would have loved to know that! I took a brief hiatus from knitting after he passed because it was too hard. I am now knitting again with joy. Every second of the day I mourn him but people like you, my family and a few close friends help me so much. I am blessed richly today watching your podcast. Thank you. I will pray for you in whatever hardships you are going through. Im Cindy near Detroit. ❤
Dear Cindy, I am touched deeply by your heartfelt message. What a journey to have been on these past couple of years. I can hear the grief palpably in your words and I send my warmest wishes and prayers for your continued healing and protection. Wool, knitting, spinning...these incredible acts that continue to ground and heal and connect us to everything that came before us and all that is yet to come. What a blessing indeed. Take good care of yourself Cindy and keep spinning. Your highest good is being served with all you are going through. ❤️✨
This is my first time watching, and discovering your podcast is such a gift! All is beautiful!!! I am in love with your Floresta. Thank you for sharing your joy and love of knitting. Looking forward to watching all your past and future videos. Thank you for sharing your beautiful spirit!
lovely podcast, again 😀 I had missed you and hoped that you come back. I am so glad because now you are sparkling so much joy 🤩 I love your voice, your ideas and your knittings 🧶 plus you are so beautiful. I am an old lady (66) with a grown up daughter and when she was born, I was so overwhelmed with the responsibility for this helpless baby that I almost forgot to care and love myself. But luckily, my own mother (long dead now) told me then, that I can only properly care for her, if before that, I care for myself. I understood, just like you said in this podcast, that caring and loving oneself is the key to give so much more to our beloved ones. It is the chain that connects us all, women of this earth ❤️💕 take care and be lovingly greeted from 🇨🇭
I agree so deeply! It does connect us all, the mothering that mirrors the mothering the planet does for us all each day. Your words are full of resonance. Thank you so much for making time to leave such a beautiful message. It goes straight to the heart. I've missed this community and chatter and am so happy to be back with this episode. 🥰🙏🏾
Dear Daki! ❤ Here you are again...Finally!!! I missed you so much! So I am really happy you continuing your Podcasts!!! With you! I found my love to unspun yarn( Nutiden) ! And got already a big collection of different colours . So inspired when you show your finished Objekts of this special wool! Looking forward to your nett Podcasts......Lots of love from Germany
Oh what a beautiful message to read here today ❤️ thank you so much for stopping by again, and I've missed doing this so much too!! I hope you have the best winter of knitting with your Nutiden!
I have wondered about you and your family. So glad to see you back. During this time of extreme worry and sadness, I am knitting more than ever to bring me comfort. Keep your gratitude and joy. We can get through this.
Yes we can and yes we will! 🥰✨ Thank you for thinking of me, I wish I could show you how much it means to be. Thank you for being here with me for a moment today 🙏🏽
I have found your channel a few weeks ago and I enjoy your podcast very much - regardless of how often you post another episode. I find your podcast very inspiring and yet also very soothing. I wish you and your family a lovely, healing festive season.
Welcome warmly to the channel! And thank you for saying that. I'm so happy you're enjoying the videos here. Wishing you a wonderful and bright festive season as well! ❤️✨
It’s a lovely day to be with you, as always. Seeing your glimmer as your dance returns is a joy. Jacob is my favorite fleece, its handspun becoming the strongest and most gentle and magical creative endeavors. You might create socks or a wrap or afghan or pillow or any garment. One can always change one’s mind as the wool speaks. Namast.
So glad to see that you are back! And so happy that you see many good people and things in your life. Your projects are very wooly and very you. And this is what our making should be: authentic. Woul you agree? I love your wooly women! Wool is softening the loudness in the world, isn´t it? I am working on gifts for friends. Thit is making me happy right now and fills up my energy level after crazy days at work. Whishing you a lovely time coming in the next weeks! Greetings from Hamburg, Germany. Helga 🧶
I'm so happy to hear that gift making is filling you up these days. Giving truly is the most energizing activity in the world. And you put that so well: wool softens the loudness. Thank you so much for your sweet words and for coming back to watch the episode. ❤️
Hello, you showed up in my feed today, how lovely. Enjoyed your podcast while knitting a sock and making soup stock from the turkey carcass. I too am looking to reestablish my equilibrium from the events of the year that have left me feeling like a stranger in my own land, and out of sync with the world. I can’t control or change the direction of travel that has been chosen by my fellow travelers but I can sure control the company I keep, my attitude towards others and my own feelings going forward.Finding joy in the creation of beautiful things both practical and symbolic like Wooly Women as they’re women of fiber ( pun intended 😊) and inspiration, reminders of our strength as females who can spin, knit, and weave their own way through the world. It was the talent and cunning of Penelope that saved Odysseus his kingdom after all.
Out of sync with the human world yes, but eternally and even more deeply connected to the Planet and all She gives us with every beat of our fragile hearts. Your words went right through to me tonight as I read them. Resonance. Strong and honest. Welcome fellow traveller, and thank you for making your voice heard. I am so grateful for your presence here. May we all find the joy and may we amplify it to all around us. 🙏🏾✨
Hello from Canada☺️. I have just discovered your channel and I’m looking so forward to watching all your past videos. You seem like such a lovely person and what a beautiful studio you are filming from. Take care, I hope next year brings you peace and joy💖
Hello there from a very chilly Poland 🇵🇱. I just came upon your vlog for the first time today, and I am so happy I did. I absolutely loved it and will be going back to watch previous ones. I grew up in South Africa and when I heard your accent it sounded very similar at first but then sounded more English (where I was born) You are such a pleasure to listen to and look forward to future episodes. Warm wishes your way 🤗
Such a sweet message! Hello all the way over the waters and lands! Welcome warmly to my channel and hope you'll enjoy my videos and ramblings here. ✨🙏🏽
It was lovely to catch up with you, Daki. I tend to use my handspun in colour work quite a bit, which is great for smaller skeins. I'm looking forward to your spinning episode.
I’m so happy to see you podcasting again! I’m sorry that this year has been so rough. It has been for many of us, it’s true. But sharing in your joy is a gift❤
So thrilled to see you, Daki!! Thanks for the shout out, I knew you would create magic with that Nutiden!! The sweater is so beautiful!!! So good to see you back and I hope that everything has settled down for you and your family. The studio is so warm and inviting and cozy. Much love to you and your family!❤❤❤❤
Thank you lovely Nanette! So lovely to have you stop by the studio with me. Sending you the biggest hugs across the web-waves, and wishing you a happy start to the festive season. ❤️✨✨
This was such a comfy and reassuring podcast... as you said, the world has been going through a lot for the passed few months and bringing joy instead of hardships is what we all should be striving for. I especially needed that reminder ♥
This is the first podcast of yours that I have seen. How wonderful you are! I love all of your projects and your positivity. I’m subscribing and looking forward to watching more. I’m also from the PNW, but in Canada. I can relate to the dark, rainy forest!
I am so glad to see you back! I loved all your finished pieces. The sweater is stunning. You inspired me to consider making myself some Ravenclaw socks. If you have MAX the streaming channel, there is a Harry Potter baking competition!
ooooh I had NO idea! I dont subscribe currently but might have to change that. 🥰 Thank you so much for coming back to watch and I really hope you'll get around to some Ravenclaw socks. Must get those notes written up.
I’m here again 😂 Just finished watching the latter part of the podcast and as someone new to the mothering journey, I’m so inspired and motivated by you! We’re still in the early stages and I can’t wait to be able to get back to feeling like my old self again!
You'll get there, I promise!! Please take the best care of yourself in this time. this is the time to do it. You'll reap the rewards later, tenfold, if you're willing to be patient with yourself and with the time it takes to return to yourself after the most exhausting phase of mothering. The early stages. 🥰✨
Oh Daki…..❤❤❤…you are glowing! Your sweater is gorgeous and the fit is perfection. I enjoyed this podcast so much and as a knitter, crocheter, weaver and spinner I am proud to be a wool woman with you and your community. Enjoy this next season and we will see you the next time.
So glad to see you back.. I've also just returned to podcasting after 10 months and I found it so hard..Looking forward to the next one. The mid winter mittens are going to be lovely.
Hi there!! I'm so happy you've come back to watch this episode. Thank you for taking time for me and the podcast today! Yes, first podcast after ages is a bit of a ride!
I was so glad to see you again and that you are feeling better. I have many health issues so I certainly understand. I look forward to your blog mas, whatever way you choose. Take care and Happy Holidays ❤
Such a kind message, and I thank you for it. It's always amazing and humbling to me that people like you stop by and take time out of their day to leave me such kind messages. 🙏🏽✨
Hello, Daki! You just came up on my list today. I was admiring g your sweater before I read your title. I’ve been knitting with Plutolopi yarn and Lettilopi yarn. I’m looking at some other natural fiber(undyed) yarns in British wools. I also love sewing my own clothes; not everything. I prefer natural fibers such as linen, wool, & cotton.
Thank you so much for making time for your message and for watching the podcast today! And welcome to the channel! I love Icelandic wool so much as well 🥰✨
I have only just discovered your podcast, and I'm delighted. I really love the sweater you are wearing. Your soothing voice and wise words are a great accompaniment to a spell of knitting. 🥰
Oh my goodness. Where to begin? This was a wonderful episode Daki. It was a real pleasure to watch, it looked so cozy and welcoming in your studio. The jumper is amazing and looks lovely on you. I’ve added it to my Ravelry favourites but I don’t know if my colourwork or patience is up to it! The beautiful felted ladies were magical. So full of character and charm. And that basket full of wool, you were absolutely right. My first thought was wow that looks big enough and squishy enough to dive right into! 😂 such an inspiring episode all round. I loved it! ❤❤ Ps - oh yes and you mentioned me! 🥰🥰. Thank you, you are so kind!
Oh Sandra, how sweet of you to stop by the podcast!! 🥰 You have so much going on with vlogmas this time of year. I'm honoured you chose to spend a bit of time with me. Thank you for your kind words and support as always. And I'm absolutely sure you'd be able to pull off the Floresta! ❤️❤️🙏🏽
Dear Daki, tonight I sat down with a nice cup of tea and watched your podcast whilst knitting on a sock. It’s lovely to see that your healthy and happy. I love the woollen dolls you’ve created. Strangely enough they reminded me of a myth which has been told by generations in the province Drenthe (NL). The myth is about the ‘witte wieven’, patches of mist that floated over the moors. Centuries ago people thought that the ‘witte wieven ‘ were old women with long grey hair that floated over the moors. They believed that they were apparitions of deceased women or living old women (dressed in white) who help people with wise advice or predictions. One myth tells a beautiful positive story: The myth about the ‘witte wief’ on the Ekelenberg, a hill near the village Zuidwolde, is very positive. She often sat there spinning with her spinning wheel and that is why they called her 't Spinwiefien. A woman who seemed barren once went to the hill to beg for help. The third night she did this, she saw the Spinwiefien who nodded to her. Nine months later she had a beautiful son. This white lady was often seen on the hill after her death... You were telling with so much love about the wise women with grey hair in your life. I thought you might like this myth about the women in white from my region ❤ in the Netherlands. Thank you for the podcast.
Oh so heart-stoppingly beautiful!! Thank you so very much for this sharing. I read the story of the witte wieven as if you were right here telling it to me. It came so alive to me. I hope so much some day to be able to witness the places where these stories lived and breathed in. So much so beacause of my longing to know more of my husband's homeland and what he swam in as he was growing up. Thank you for bringing some of the magic of these Wool Women home to me, and thank you so much for watching the podcast again. ✨❤️🥰
You are so very Regal. Did you have footage of your felting the flowers on that beautiful jumper? What an interesting technique to enhance colorwork. Your "Wool women" are amazing. I really felt a connection to them, I will look into it. So happy you shared. Will check your IG for pictures of them. Thank you for a great podcast. You were missed.
That is so sweet of you to say! I missed being here too. I didn't record the needle felting I did on the jumper no. But it is really very simple. Maybe I'll do it again on another jumper and I can record it for the podcast. 🙏🏽🥰
Hi Daki! Lovely to sit down and craft with you this afternoon. Your words resonated so much today. This has been a very difficult year for my family as well. Both of my in-laws passed away within 3 months of each other - my FIL was in hospice for cancer and then my MIL has a heart attack a few short months later. The stress of dealing with everything from will probate to the sale of their house has taken its toll. Now that we are coming out of it, I am looking forward to a year of quiet and stress free making. We are starting with a trip to the sunny warmth of Key West and then back to cozy up for the rest of the winter here in Massachusetts. I also look forward to spinning up some of my fiber stash this winter! So glad that you are feeling better now! ❤❤
Oh dear Lisa! My heart goes out to you and your husband ❤️ It all comes hard and fast when it does, isn't that right? One of my teachers used to always say that when trials seem to follow hot on the heels one after another, it's usually a sign that the Universe knows that we're capable of handling more than we allow ourselves to. And that our evolution calls for us to go through certain kinds of fires... because we're ready for it. I had a dear friend who had to go through all the will drama for their recently passed parent as well, and heard how draining it can be. Please take such good care of yourself now and see that your highest good was served by all you had to go through. ❤️❤️🪷🥰
I'm so glad to see you here again! Remember that you are an example for your daughters of how to care for yourself and care for your family from the overflowing of your own self love and joy. ❤❤❤❤❤
❤❤oh! So happy to see your lovely video on my feed! You have definitely brought me joy today😊. Love your sweater and just all your fiber enthusiasm resonates with me so well! I am very happy that you are feeling well now. Fiber is my medicine and has helped me navigate new health challenges and paradigms😉. You have sparked some new ideas.... especially the wool women! I think I will pay homage to my ancestor angels that live through me in fiber art traditions and new ideas. What a wonderful inspiration! Thank you! I have missed you and enjoy your videos very much🐑🦄❤ Looking forward to more fiber and light! ...also...I have a cabinet of handspun that needs projects, I will be back for sure😂.
We do need to tackle all that handspun 😄 thank you for your heartwarming message and your kind words to me today. I sooo hope you'll make some wool women of your own and feel those ancestral heart tugs. They are magical to make and behold! ✨
Hello Pretty Woman! Haven't seen you in so long. Have I've been missing you lately? I've been searching for your podcast. Doesn't matter because I've connected. How was your Thanksgiving? How has your family been doing? I hope your joy keeps generating through the airways. I hear the struggle you have endured even though I know not what from. I can only tell you this that woman are a strong breed and you will endure those turbulent waters just as I and other woman. I call them adventure trips and how we run, walk and hike through them. Podcast when you can, do what you can one step at a time. Much prosperity from the hear. Ms. Jo
Hellooo! And thank you, thank you for your absolutely sweet message! I've missed talking to all of you as well and I'm so happy to be back with an episode. My family has been through the ringer, but we are all the more uplifted and joyful and clear minded for it. Life is full of gifts, even when it appears not to be. ❤️❤️
I am crocheting a poncho with various thicknesses and breeds of hand spun yarns. I find it very forgiving and gives the piece a lot of personality perhaps you could start this way and sometimes one thing leads to another
I'm letting my hair age naturally. It's surprising how very much white is in there all of a sudden. lol Mine is a cool white that sparkles in the sunshine, but it isn't salt and pepper. Redheads just sort of...fade. When I was a teen I decided that women really came into their own once they hit 40. They knew who they were and where they wanted to be. They might not have known how they were going to get there, but they knew. I'm so glad it turned out that I was right. :D I love your wool ladies. Jacob is my favorite smell in fleeces followed by Romney. I can't be the only one who can tell the difference between breeds based on smell, can I? As for mixing and matching hand spun, I have the same issue and I think I've decided I'm going to weave it. I may use a hand spun as the warp, but more likely I'll be using a commercial yarn for the warp and just using the hand spun for the weft. Too many women forget the saying that you can't pour from an empty pitcher. I'm not saying that we should be selfish, but we need to remember that we have needs, too. I also realize that it is very hard to do when there are little ones depending upon us. Those of us who are elder, need to remember, empathize with, and support those younger women who are going through it right now. Not in an "I know better and you need to..." way, but in whatever way is most helpful. It's better for everyone, including the children. I'm glad you are feeling better and that you are once again finding your joy. I thought about participating in the MAL, but then remembered that I don't like knitting socks. lol Maybe instead I'll take a page from your book and clean that Wensleydale fleece that has been eyeing me balefully for a year now. I'll have running water within the next month, so it will be a much easier job than it would have been. I think that's why I've been putting it off. If we don't see you beforehand, the happiest of holiday seasons to you and yours.
40s. It's where it's at. You're so right. As always, I feel the most familiar recognition in your words. I just turned 40 this year, and it's been my most pivotal year yet. Such earthquakes. Such evolutions. I cannot begin to express through language. I wish so much that the older ecosystems of women supporting one another at and through different phases of life was still alive and intact. You do need a village of women. I hope you'll get around to that fleece. It tool me long enough, but once I did...oh my. What satisfaction! Thank you again for stopping by and for your wise and familiar words to me. I'm sending the brightest wishes of comfort and happiness through the holidays for you and your loved ones. ✨❤️
I am so glad that the TH-cam algorithm has shown me you’re channel ❤ you have such a beautiful radiant welcoming aura surrounding you and I have absolutely enjoyed watching you and listening to you talk passionately about fibre crafting 🧶 your wool women are a beautiful creation and you’re so talented Also I must say your son has an incredibly beautiful name ❤
Welcome! And so happy to have you here! He is as beautiful as his name...and utterly exhausting as well 😅 thank you so much for spending time with my podcast today!
Such kind words, thank you! I'm glad for the connection you feel. Hang in there. It's always darkest before the dawn. ✨✨
Thank you for this! So lovely and comforting.
The wool women are lovely. What a wonderful way to bless your home.
It feels that way, exactly 🥰 like a wooly blessing for this space that brings so much joy. Thank you!
Beautiful from start to finish . Let your Light shine ….. it made me smile.
I'm so glad it brought you a little joy! ✨ 🙏🏽🥰
What a gorgeous sweater! Waving to you in midwinter dark across the water on Whidbey Island. I love your insights and wisdom around collective grief.
Really missed you. Podcast when you can I will be here. Your videos bring a lot of peace and joy.
Your words warm my heart, thank you so much. There was nervousness coming back after so long! I'm so happy to be podcasting again.
The wool women wow. So lovely. And your jumper looks stunning on you. ❤
Thank you!🙏🏾
Your jumper is so incredibly beautiful.
It’s wonderful to see you again and your wool women are just lovely.
Lovely to see you drop by again! Thank you so much 🥰🙏🏽
So happy to hear you're feeling better!
Ahh that's so sweet! I'm so happy to be back and it's so good to reconnect with all of you!🥰

I'm delighted to see your spark back! I agree that there is no better way to be joyful than to connect with beautiful wool.
It's the truth! Thank you Ann, for stopping by to say Hi ✨🥰

So happy to see your beautiful face again Daki, your podcasts always give me so much joy and comfort 💖
And yes, more joy, wool and whimsy, yes please ✨
Your sweater turned out beautifully! It's always nice to see you again in this space. I hope the new season is one of much more light and ease for you.
Helloooo Friend! Lovely to have you drop by as always. 🥰 Thank you, and Sending you bright and beautiful blessings for this season as well. Xx
Thank you so much for sharing joy and positive energie! ❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much for making time for me today! 🥰✨
I too was so excited to see you again!
That's so lovely! Thank you for stopping by again!
Your sweater is so gorgeous!!
@ thank you, very much ♥️
This is my first time watching, and discovering your podcast is such a gift! All is beautiful!!! I am in love with your Floresta. Thank you for sharing your joy and love of knitting. Looking forward to watching all your past and future videos. Thank you for sharing your beautiful spirit!
I am so happy you've found the podcast! Thank you for being here and for your super sweet words to me. I truly appreciate it! 🥰🙏🏾
lovely podcast, again 😀
I had missed you and hoped that you come back. I am so glad because now you are sparkling so much joy 🤩
I love your voice, your ideas and your knittings 🧶 plus you are so beautiful.
It is the chain that connects us all, women of this earth ❤️💕
take care and be lovingly greeted from 🇨🇭
I agree so deeply! It does connect us all, the mothering that mirrors the mothering the planet does for us all each day. Your words are full of resonance. Thank you so much for making time to leave such a beautiful message. It goes straight to the heart. I've missed this community and chatter and am so happy to be back with this episode. 🥰🙏🏾
Enjoyed your podcast! Watching while knitting a sock for my husband. Cozy indeed! Cheers ☕️
Thank you so much!
My first time here and I feel right at home. I loved Neah Bay and that whole area. ❤
A warm welcome to you, and thank you for making time for this episode 🙏🏽✨
Dear Daki! ❤ Here you are again...Finally!!! I missed you so much! So I am really happy you continuing your Podcasts!!! With you! I found my love to unspun yarn( Nutiden) !
It is so wonderful to see you again and I am praising God your health is on the mend and you are feeling so much better!

@@woolandtheforest You're very welcome! :)
Namast.
Beautiful message as always dear soul 🥰✨ Words singing straight to my heart. I'm so grateful to have you here. Thank you for this connection. 🙏🏽
The wool women you made are just STUNNINGLY beautiful! ♡ Thank you for sharing and telling your stories of inspiration.
They do bring me so much joy. I can just watch them float around for ages. Thank you so much for watching and leaving me a message today! ✨🥰
Hello again . Thank you so kindly for sharing your lovely work.
Thank you for making time to watch!🙏🏾
Your sweater came out beautifully! 💖🙌😺
Oh I do humbly agree! It's my favourite so far! 🙏🏽
Your my favorite podcaster too. ❤
Wow!!! That is the most amazing thing to say. I am humbled! 🥰🙏🏾✨
That's a great idea! Thank you!
Daki welcome back. You were very much missed. What a beautiful podcast. Thank you for your kind and wise words.
I'm so happy to be back! And thank you for stopping by and spending a bit of time with me today.xx

I'm so glad to hear it! We all reminding and all I'm doing is spreading the love and awareness of something we all know deep within us. ✨🥰
I am so glad you popped up on my feed today! What a lovely podcast! Hello from Quebec, Canada!
Welcome to the channel and thank you for making time for my podcast today!
I’m a new viewer and so excited to have found you! Your preferences are much like mine, and I’m a spinner, too. Thanks for your content!
Welcome warmly to the channel! 🥰🙏🏽
This is the first podcast of yours that I have seen. How wonderful you are! I love all of your projects and your positivity. I’m subscribing and looking forward to watching more. I’m also from the PNW, but in Canada. I can relate to the dark, rainy forest!
Thank you so much for your sweet message! and welcome warmly to the channel!
@ thank you for the kind words ❤️❤️❤️
Oh Daki…..❤❤❤…you are glowing!
Your sweater is gorgeous and the fit is perfection. I enjoyed this podcast so much and as a knitter, crocheter, weaver and spinner I am proud to be a wool woman with you and your community. Enjoy this next season and we will see you the next time.
Ahhh your words go straight to my heart, thank you so much 🥰✨ sending best wishes to you and yours for this coming season!

So many thoughts and feelings just in watching the first few minutes my friend, just had to stop and say so ❤ Now back to watching and listening ...
Love you dearest Cary, and love knowing you're spending some cozy time with me❤️✨
Hello, Daki!
I love Icelandic wool so much as well 🥰✨
Hello, just found you on TH-cam. What a wonderful podcast! Your felted dolls are magical 😊
Welcome to the channel! And thank you for making time for my video today 🙏🏾
I loooove your episodes. I feel the power you send across the sky and the sea! Thank you! Lots of love from Lisbon 🥰 ❤❤❤❤😊
That is so so sweet!! Thank you for your kind words that mean so much 🥰✨
I have only just discovered your podcast, and I'm delighted. I really love the sweater you are wearing. Your soothing voice and wise words are a great accompaniment to a spell of knitting. 🥰
Oh thank you! That is so so kind! I'm glad you're here 🙏🏾
Oh my goodness. I loved it! ❤❤
Ps - oh yes and you mentioned me!
Greetings from N. Alberta Canada. Loved your video and was quietly spinning up some wool to make a pair of leg warmers.
oh how lovely! Legwarmers from handspun sounds like the coziest thing!
They believed that they were apparitions of deceased women or
living old women (dressed in white) who help people with wise advice or predictions. One myth tells a beautiful positive story:
The myth about the ‘witte wief’ on the Ekelenberg, a hill near the village Zuidwolde, is very positive.
I thought you might like this myth about the women in white from
my region ❤ in the Netherlands.
❤ I can't say more. All the best to you with greetings from Germany
I feel the love 🥰 thank you so so much!
Thanks❤

Thank you! I have missed you and enjoy your videos very much🐑🦄❤
Looking forward to more fiber and light! ...also...I have a cabinet of handspun that needs projects, I will be back for sure😂.
I find it very forgiving and gives the piece a lot of personality perhaps you could start this way and sometimes one thing leads to another
That's a great idea! I'll definitely tuck that one away, thank you for sharing. 🙏🏽
