  • Two overall World Cup crystal globes, six World Cup discipline titles, six Olympic medals, five World Championship medals, 33 World Cup wins, and a whole lot of fun along the way. The career of Bode Miller was many things, but boring definitely wasn't one of them. Brash and controversial at times, Miller's approach to the sport of ski racing was a much needed breath of fresh air for fans around the world so used to the machine-like precision of the juggernauts of the sport during the 1990s and early 2000s.
In episode six of The American Downhiller presented by POC, Miller and his family, teammates, and coaches open up about just what made him the most successful male U.S. ski racer of all time.

To win in all four events is remarkable to say the least. He is a living legend. They should have held a Nationally Televised Parade to celebrate his storied career. May I add they should have held one for Lindsey Vonn also! To have Americans compete and beat the Europeans in Alpine Ski Racing events doesn't happen often! He is an inspiration to athletes world wide.

Bode pushed the limits in ski racing. I mostly liked him in the downhill and did it the Bode Miller way. I also grew up skiing Cannon Mountain and love skiing there with all different conditions from snow one day to sometimes blue ice the next which makes it challenging and that makes awesome skiers and racers. Proud to have him from my home state NH.

Grew up and raced back there. The ever changing conditions taught you how to adapt to whatever the condition threw at you. I could always tell where a slier was from - the East or the West - by how well they handled going from powder to blue boilerplate every few seconds.
