  • Thorncliffe Park in Toronto has a history that few know about. It was a planned neighbourhood built primarily in the 1960s and currently known as 'Canada's Arrival City'. It is a high density neighbourhood with approximately 50 countries represented in the largest elementary and kindergarten schools in North America but prior to development there was a great deal of other activity.     A wonderful example of many cultures living together in an area planned for success with residential, small business and corporate ventures. Thorncliffe is a proud residential community sharing in harmony.

    The shopping centre shown @5:59 while correct for the time period is of Humbertown Shopping Centre in Etobicoke. The image @ 6:03 is correctly showing Thorncliffe Marketplace as it was then known.

    seems like thorncliffe was more progressive, and equally dense ine the past too.
