Just goes to show, it's not all in the power when building a quick car. It's all in the optimum setup and looks like this guy has nailed it pretty good. PS. I laughed at the end with the brakes. We have 2 BF utes in the family and the front brakes always warp and have problems. Also that hard falcon brake pedals they are known for makes them a pain for daily driving.

@@strider5119 lol stock for stock the lsa destroys the barra. So for a barra to be quick it needs to be modded up, to make 400rwkw+ itlk cost you $12-$15k minimum lol. So yes a lsa is same price as a barra turbo maybe but barras are crap stock. So go chuck money into it to make it somewhat quick, do the same to the lsa and boom, it blows the doors off any barra. You pay the same amount on money for a barra or lsa, whether that's stock for both or modifying both, the lsa wins. Also not to mention that let's just say the barra is cheaper, well rest of the car still shits itself. You'll have to get a built box, motor, tailshaft and few other bits so that right there will cost another $20k+ easy lol. You don't need to touch anything in a hsv or the latest ssv, just mod the engine and you're good to go. Sick of seeing people thinking barras are cheap when they're not. If you going to spend that much money just buy a better car lol

Should've mentioned how much the donor car/driveline cost, kinda important if anyone wanted to compare the build and it's cost. Even before covid and being crashed, the Typhoon driveline for BF series gotta be worth alot, especially considering the rods/turbo/trans. The factory BTR transmissions are crap.
What do you want to compare the build cost to? This whole car and combo cost me less than buying a standard xr6 turbo. But I'm only trying to show that anyone with an xr6 turbo can go decent times with a simple set-up. A good tuner is the key to get the most out of a simple package.
@@shannonr8355 the wrecked typhoon was a bit over $5k. Kept the driveline and sold the rest of the parts off the car and made 90% of my money back. It wasn't free but definitely owes nothing close to the cost of buying a stock bf xr6 turbo

I love the whole sleeper look, no in the day the car that got me into Ford's was the sapphire cosworths which for me is the ultimate sleeper, but u Oz lads have it good cos the barra engine is beautiful, I am not really a big V8 fan bcoz coming frm UK it's always 4-6 pots really so anything Ford is my cuppa tea. @@Fletch889 Haha 😂 Yes. I am trying to get a 12.2xxx with my ISF. Bloody frustrating. Removing the rear mufflers and running this Saturday. I really hope to get there. Maybe do basic weight reduction. Empty the boot and floor mats etc.
@@Barrapotter removing the interior wouldn't give me anything decent. I'd be better off dropping the exhaust at the dump pipe and it will pick up a few pounds of boost but I don't want to cheat haha

I think the mph thing is just tyres and driver, I have a 410kw g6e, I've only been to the strip once and I ran a 12.2 at 120mph but my 60ft was 2.1, the car is a lot more capable but with the tyre i had a 245/40-18 chinese ad08 clone and my lack of practice launching cars I was really struggling to get off the line, the 12.2 was just start in 2nd and throttle it for the first 60 foot before shifting to 3rd and flooring it, no brake boosting or antilag
hey if ya want to fix ya stock brakes so no shudder in the wheel pull off ya brake master cylinder and screw in the adjustment on the power booster shaft as far as you can so it pulls the caliper pistons back that little bit more so the pads don't rub on the discs... makes the world of difference
For a daily driver what more can you ask for if you can get a 10 fantastic but it's good to know your not gunna push it to far and break it bcos it's a Badass ride🤘👍

lol i have a 2005 ba with a bf xr6 turbo motor with stock na gearbox and diff and it just for fun and skids not into drags and i paid 7300 for my ba with 125.000km 2 months ago And im on 98 and not even tuned lol
@@Adrian-vd4te I probably did get chopped by it. I can't recall it but I've been chopped by lots of stuff. The cars not that fast by any means. 390kw on 98 with a stock gt3582 is awesome man. I must be doing something wrong if I can't make that using e85.

Does the 3.2 ratio difference make it faster than the stock 2.73? This could be why it's so fast.

The single cam engines are now making a comeback since the barra has become expensive. They are capable and can have a camshaft swap in 15 minutes.
