For catching chips from the dust collector you could get an IBC and cut the top off. They are usually at least 275 gallon capacity, so it should last a little while.
Nathan, I have to say again, you really have a beautiful location. Watching the clouds passing, @12:49 , even though speeded up, was absolutely breath taking. 😁✌🖖
Both are conifers. Red Cedar have cones that bear seeds, and are trees that can grow large…. As in the NW. junipers are Staley bark and grow more like a bush and have a berry seed as opposed to a cone. Here in Oregon we associate juniper as occurring in the high deserts of the west. It has a smell that definitely different than cedar. In Brookings Oregon the red cedar is extremely aerobatic, and highly sought after.
Excellent point that black walnut MUST be kept from a compost pile. The tannins in black walnut king vegetables and flowers. You don’t miss much, Mr. Nathan.
You certainly keep your viewers well informed on what you are doing Nathan & watching you work on the mill is a treat. Thanks for sharing & cheers, Don from South Australia.
put a elbow on the pilpe down to a IBC container then when full tip out, you will need to cut top out makes easy to empty, when filling cut a slot to out lid to go over pipe this will prevent to much from escapeing
Thanks for sharing with us Nathan, looks better around there already and you have your cedar out and ready to mill. Stay safe and keep up the good work and fun you have around the farm. Fred.
Always fun to watch you play with your big toys. A suggestion for your wood chips. Modify another of the big plastic boxes in the metal cage with a port on top for the dust and chips, and a top-hinged door to be able to dump them out where you need it (using Mr. Kato with forks).
Looks to me like someone needs to build an equipment shed; lots of money in attachments sitting out in the weather. Also if I'll holdca fence staple, it's big enough for a fence post according to my late Daddy
put a tote down under the sawdust duct, maybe up on a platform to protect the electrical conduit, and get the tote up closer to the outflow of the sawdust duct
I scored two uprooted wind blown Cedar's this weekend. Unfortunately, for me, the butt section has a large amount of insect damage along with a few bird holes. But, the price was right. Just time and effort.
Nathan, just a thought/question. The smaller cedar as I see you use mostly steel fence posts, how about laying them perpendicular to stack your logs on to get them up off the ground? Less rot less insects- Tyler
As long as you don't get that Kato dirty you can probably get most of your money back. Armorall on those rubber track spruce them right up. And RainX on the glass will keep the dust from gathering. Oh, and the company use a long (hard) A in that name.
Your chain bar seems to be pinched in the log you are cutting, occurs regularly. This happens to me frequently as well, a consequence of cutting too quickly, not using the wedges or Not using the loader to suspend the log up in the air. When this happens to a pro like yourself, I don't feel as self conscious about my own shortcut. 🇺🇸🗽💯🙈👌
It seems that all of you Sawyers keep your logs on the ground. Why don't you put them on stickers or something to keep them off the wet, moist ground? I've always wandered.
I am confused why not take the log around the back of the kiln to the other side.... Where is the property line??? Every thing looks mowed at the same time so it looks the same... Working in the dark... Mr. Sun is working against you!!!!
Winter hoodies are now in stock: ://farmfocused.com/otw-axe-tree-log-hoodie/
Fyi: Nathan Naturesown place is me Ritch. I don't know why TH-cam is showing me as my old name from back in the early 2000s.
Just wanted to repeat how much I appreciate the time and effort you put into the videos. Excellent job, oh! And the sawing isn't too shabby either!😉
Awesome, thank you!

Love your channel! I really like your music editing choice at the end of this video. Super Cool! Thanks

Some beautiful cloud shots in today's video.
Thanks 🙏
Maybe build an open catch bay a little wider than the loader bucket and turn your exhaust duct down into it. (Just box over or shield the power cable)
You certainly keep your viewers well informed on what you are doing Nathan & watching you work on the mill is a treat. Thanks for sharing & cheers, Don from South Australia.
Nathan , from the look of those cedar “fence posts “ you have the beginning of a nice sawdust bin .
Beautiful Fall weather, encouraging to get things done. The track loader seems to be one of your best investments.
It sure is!
Beautiful sunset time lapse! Another great video, thanks for sharing it with us.
Quite the change in background music. I don’t dislike it, it’s just so different. 😊
yeah thought I would try something new
Join your red quick coupler covers together it keeps the dirt out of them
Love your time lapse footage. You have some beautiful property!
Thank you very much!
One of the sharpest chainsaws on TH-cam.

I just love how you keep your chain saw blades so sharp!
Oh how I'd love those cedar slabs to make a board fence with! Love the videos!
Dad was in a big rush today. 😊
Mr Kato, the little engine that could
👍👍👍

Thanks, you too!
NATHAN THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME FOR OUR ENJOYMENT.

You took a good bite out of that cedar order in very short order Nathan. Have fun at the birthday party and don't eat too much cake.
thanks John,
Eat as much cake as you like , you earned it.
@@recceeboy1237 Good point!
Mr Kato doing you proud. Must remind you of the Green Hornet's sidekick.
Smellin good today Nathan
You can use them to keep the logs off the ground
If you ever come back to the KATO dealership, please let me know. Would love come and say HI.
Enjoy these well composed videos. Nice job.
Agreed. Like them also..
Glad you like them!
Install 45 deg angle fittings on your flexible hydraulic hoses. They work like pistol grips when connecting the hoses to the stationary lines.
space. the final short delayed frontier.
The Green Hornet.... 🙂@2:27
😂
We got some beautiful sunsets out here lately, don't we?👍
Sticks his foot in the sawdust and says "that's about a foot deep!" Very punny lol
Did you know that Kato link to your videos on youtube from their CL35 product page?
Awesome
Bluetti. Love ur channel.
Lots of nice cedar logs
Yes sir
And don't you love the smell of freshly sawn cedar?!
Thanks for the video Nathan. May GOD bless
My pleasure!
How about an IBC tote with the top cut off to catch your chips. Maybe a side or two cut off with screen on them to relieve the air pressure.
Always interesting
I sure hope you charged Dad for that board !! 😂😂😂😂
lol he always leaves before I give him the bill,
You have not mentioned lately how much you like that skid steer!
ill do that soon lol

Great idea!
Pretty mod music there, Nathan! Lol.
Small shops around me use a metal trailer like your dump trailer with a cover and a hole for the pipe
Interesting

Yes 👍
Us Southern folks call cedar, cedar, but google calls it cedar and juniper....I'll keep calling it cedar. Way I figure, google aint always right.
I scored two uprooted wind blown Cedar's this weekend. Unfortunately, for me, the butt section has a large amount of insect damage along with a few bird holes. But, the price was right. Just time and effort.
It happens
Nathan, just a thought/question. The smaller cedar as I see you use mostly steel fence posts, how about laying them perpendicular to stack your logs on to get them up off the ground? Less rot less insects- Tyler
Maybe
I thought you were going to put siding on the chicken coop
Did you get a new camera? Video quality is very good.
Can the grapple grab the end of the log to drag it lengthwise through the gap between the buildings?
Nathan, how often have you had to
sharpen/replace your bark scoring blade? 😁✌🖖
Never
😊😊😊😊😊😊

Much better with the zip up hoodies spot this time. Been practicing? ;)
MM77 Approved 👍🏼👍🏼
Confirmed
Another good on Nathan, no cats today?
Hiding
👍
Is there a fragrance when cutting cedar?
Nathan - I'm curious - what are those yellow berries/fruits that are growing through that cedar log pile?
Good ? Lol weeds probably
🙏🙏..loving the "Big Boy toys"!
...what you do for a living, I would do as a hobby. Lord J.C. got me on a different path. 🙏🙏
Very nice
Thanks
Is that a Joe Maine Silver Tip 7 on that mill?
👋🏻
Do you ever have a termite problem?
I do not but I treat for them
Use those wood chips in your wife's garden to keep moisture in it?
Dady ask for à lot… Hope he makes e good soup in compensation…😜or is just good company…
Did you forget the party? 🤔
I was late
It seems that all of you Sawyers keep your logs on the ground. Why don't you put them on stickers or something to keep them off the wet, moist ground?
I've always wandered.
Cut boards to length, not logs
And waste fuel and blade life in sawing lengths not ordered? Not wise

Don’t tie up your dump trailer.
True
KATO looks like a dog with a bone in its mouth!
Agreed 👍
Really good dog, though! Takes it where you want it, then drops it on command! @@OutoftheWoods0623
If it makes you happy, I get annoyed when you call Cedar "Juniper". You know, in case you care
What size hat do you wear?
