What a fantastic series, I loved every second of it. Bingewatched the whole two seasons last weekend (again). Great epic dramatic role of mister Grammer. Love love love him.
Oh yeah. I strongly dislike House of cards - it has no subtlety and it's so pretentious and that faux-Southern accent hurts the ears. This show has what you want - well-written epic and subtle and smart and intense. Almost like Deadwood in a way - that sometimes Shakespearean yet everyday speech simultaneousl. brilliant stuff.
this brilliant show was cancelled :( Reality shows are cheap to make and have huge ratings. Bottom line: our world is getting dumber. Just look at the shows that get the biggest ratings all over the world
A victim of the adage" too good for television." Kelsey Grammer was simply outstanding in this drama depicting the rough and tumble world of Chicago politics. Excellent writing that was simply too much for the general public to wrap their arms around. After all, there are no sounds of bodily functions, no animation, few if any trying to stave off being voted off the island. No, just a glimpse of what really happens in a top notch drama that should still be on the air. Fine writing and very good acting. Shame on Showtime for killing a series that should be winning awards. This CBS owned network also killed off Brotherhood, another great series filmed entirely on location in Providence, RI. Yeah, after all, these shows cannot compete with Big Bang theory or the Simpsons. Grow up America, and at the same time, wake up!!!
As cliché as it probably is to bring this other show up, the similarities between what Boss was setting out to do and what Breaking Bad accomplished are scarily similar. Ignore the similarities between the actors, their character's health, the show's direction, that sort of stuff....but the scope of it all. Breaking Bad and Boss wanted to be Modern Tragedies. Breaking Bad got the chance to prove it, Boss, sadly, was cut short (c'mon Netflix, someone else like it, pick this up again!).
Great series, too bad it got cancelled... Nobody really heard about it I guess. Speaking for myself I just happened to stumble across it by accident really, a full year and a half after the last episode...
please directors and editors from Starz I want to see Boss 3 cuz I want to see more sexual seduction of course only on the show I'm not saying this for kids to see after 9 when it starts at 10 all kids from 18 down go to sleep. I'm saying this in respect for the channel.
The acting is GREAT! The meaty Dialog in concert with the cinematography styles are just to chewy and tantalizing to look away from. It's like, This Great Buffet, you've eaten yourself full, but you want more. ...(sigh) ...
Certain lead and exit shots never made sense. Hannah Wares "American" accent was terrible. The screenplay was so predictable and cliche. Absolutely no character development. Extended sex scenes that had no reason to be. Ridiculous fixes on reality. Boss had it's moments of success and entertainment, but all we have here is a meal with no meat or veggies, just a chocolate covered dessert that leaves you with stomach pains. (Or an erection)

THIS is what acting is all about. Kelsey Grammer is at his best. The series is groundbreaking. The depth , the scale, the humanity are all epic.
Major respect to Kelsey Grammer.
I agree. It's bloody brilliant, needs more publicity in my opinion.
Long live Kelsey Grammer ! An artist with uppercase A.
incredibly amazing tv show, simply in the top 5 tv shows!
OMG!!!!!!!! THIS SERIES IS FIRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
House of Cards can't touch Boss.
Hel yea!

This was so great until Peter Travers started talking.
