    Him, Tim Thomas, Rasheed Wallace and Josh Smith all had so much potential to be all-time greats. These guys were unstoppable on nba live in the 2000's

      Thomas Nygren I disagree miles upside was higher. Williams never dropped 47 either. Miles suffered injuries that killed his career.

    • @Liam-ex4mf
      @Liam-ex4mf 4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      @@martindominguez1518 career high doesnt mean much, cory brewer has scored 51 in his career. in modern nba you need to be able to shoot unless you are a strong, athletic with handles like zion/giannis/simmons. miles was athletic but built like a stick and couldnt shoot 16% 3 point shooter and 59% ft shooter

    • @martindominguez1518
      @martindominguez1518 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Thomas Nygren I feel miles ceiling is higher than Derrick Williams. The only reason Darius had a bad career was because of injury.

    • @martindominguez1518
      @martindominguez1518 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Thomas Nygren Darius had a better career than Derrick actually. Shaq even said to Darius during one of there games once miles came back from injury “you aren’t the same” miles athleticism and shot would have evolved for sure. He had a decent mid range and good shot mechanics for the most part. And Darius numerous times went off for high points.

    Darius Miles has been the first to admit that he wasn't ready for the NBA in terms of maturity. Despite this game Miles would have been better to go to college for a few years. Miles would have really benefited not just in maturity but in terms of mastering the fundamentals.

    • @cognitivedisability9864
      @cognitivedisability9864 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yeah, look at him and tracy mcgrady, simillar build and height. Simillar start of career heck darius even got more minutes than tmac his first year. But tmac worked his ass off to become one of the most skilled scorers of all time, and lead his own team to the playoffs at 21 averaging 33 8 7 in the playoffs. Tmac was good because of the athletecism, like darius. But he developed his game and imo became a better player than even kobe at an early stage. kobe became the 2nd greatest shooting guard of all time, and tmac didnt tho. But it was all hard work and dedication, something im guessing darius wasnt as good at or bothered with. Seems like his game was pretty simillar his whole nba career and never really got better, just finally had a helf decent team and point guard with portland.

    If he would have dedicated himself in the gym with a trainer and stayed out of the street life, he would have been the beast we thought he would be here in Illinois. This highlight show how gifted and athletic he was. Could have been the best ever to come out Illinois if he had a different programming as a youth. We can’t help what we’re exposed to and rarely we get past bad input as a child.

    • @lakeshoresubtleties
      @lakeshoresubtleties 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, he was just getting to a level averaging about 17ppg midway in the season in '05-'06, i believe, when knee damage started slowing him down, and then his season ended & he had microfracture surgery. After the surgery, an NBA appointed dr. ruled his injury as career ending, and that gave portland some cap relief on the last few years of his contract.
      He still made a comeback, and played spot minutes for the grizzlies in the latter half of '08-'09. He actually played pretty well. After that, I believe he was at Charlotte's camp the next spring, but no one ever signed him again.
      He could have been a star who made an imprint on the game's history with more help looking after his body and modern resources. He's only all of 23, I believe, in this game here.
      One of the earlier glimpses at what would be in basketball with the big, athletic, multi-talented somewhat positionless forwards of today like LeBron, Giannis, PG, Siakam, Batum, Simmons, Brandon Ingram, Julius Randle, Johnathan Isaac, KD, Tatum, Jerami Grant, AG, Jalen Johnson, Scottie Barnes, etc.
