@@CinematicLaboratory BTW... what do you think it would be the best way to improve or complement DPO? (I already own just friends, mangrove and 3 sisters)? In my theoretical list were things like: Serge Wave Multiplier, Serge Q VCF, NLC dual LPG (I already own one optomix), o_c , mimetic digitalis...
@@Hessencemusic I'd say anything that can be compared to a Shared System utility module. I'd say Marbles and Stages are excellent companions. Get a Wogglebug if you dare or something else 'uncertain' like the Endorphin.es Shuttle Control. Also be on the lookout for the new TipTop/Buchla stuff.
@@CinematicLaboratory when I bought my first module, I was completely sure that this was not made for me. I remember saying that. After less than two months I was selling mixing equipment to buy modules :). I discover a world of creativity here, and I was particularly impressed by brands like make noise or verbos. So it was really hard to find the modules as Covid broke all stocks. Now my “not real” make noise System has: wooglebug, maths, dpo, mimeophon, tempi, René v2, optomix, morphagene. From verbos: scan&pan and multienvelope. Qubit data bender. Mannequins juste friends+mangrove+3 sisters. Disting EX. Ansible and crow. Electus versio. Joranalogue link, add2. Shakmat sumdif, And a face looking at the rack about how to complement this all :) what do you think? Hehe
This is great stuff, and all of Cinematic Laboratory's videos are amazing, but how about a series of tutorials for those of us who start with smaller synth engines, like the Cartesian System? I do plan on shelling out the dosh for the Tape And Microsound System, eventually. In the meantime, however, any help in expanding knowledge of the inner workings of the Cartesian System would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Well, there may be some huge mosquito's way down in the deep... Yes, you're right at the beginning they sound like mosquito's indeed. :). OK, they're whale mosquito's. Very rare.
I've had my shared system for some time now .. made a few changes here and there .. but you're videos have really changed things for me ..it's hard to find good examples your's are some of the best I've seen so far.. thank you
I got another DPO!!! U prolly saw my FB Post. I missed it so much. Something that is often overlooked... ppl often go straight for that final out. I go for OSC2 Sine ... thr way the FM is implemented enables sounds so crazy and sometimes even dRe I say digital noise kinda stuff.. you’d never thjng it was just two sine waves FMing each other. Proper face ripping shit
Dual sine patches are my favorite too! I don't often use the final out. But it's cool to use final out as an FM modulation source for the sine(s) because you can control lots of parameters.
I will watch this series several times; tons of ideas, really well explained, at good pace without being too complex, and above all great tones.
Sorry I missed these cool comments!
OMG! DPO can speak !! I've just receive my DPO today... can't thank you enough all your videos...
It's an honor my video inspired you to get a DPO. It's an amazing oscillator that will never let you down.

Apart from being informative, I think you also got some really great tones out of DPO! Has me dreaming of a deep dive 🖤
Wow, thank you, I know you wrote this a year ago but sometimes I just can't keep up with all the cool comments.
Really cool! thanks for this. Cant wait to get my hands on the DPO and rene 2 at some point.
Amazing as always ❤❤❤
Your vids are so amazing by the way. DEFINITELY have replay value
Thank you so much, a year later! Sorry about that.
Yes fantastic work. Absolutely love these!

So i hope you start a new series :) Best tutorials so far! Thx for that great work
I know this reply comes a bit late, but what kind of series would you be interested in?
Still useful, still relevant
Whale song? It recalls mosquito's in my brain 😅
Thanks for the demo! I will try the super saw tips on some other gear, hope it works!
