Love a pint of Old Empire. Butty Bach too. I'd have set up shop in that pub. Cracking pub crawl as always. You should do some in the South West if you get the opportunity. Cheers.
I live and drink beer in the Czech Republic. We have the best lagers in the world hands down. Our friends in Germany also make some very good lagers but these British ales, cask ales and pubs absolutely make me drool. I can't wait to visit England in 2025. 💯👍
As you walked towards the Golden Cross through the shopping g area. You past the City Central library. This was once a music venue called the laccano where the specials and many other famous acts played into the early 80’s.
Glad you enjoyed our city's pubs. I used to work in the broomfield tavern, where Ted the st bernard is the star of the show (we were walking our dog whilst you were in the park and made it into this video 😂 the old windmill is our regular and I also worked at the golden cross 25 years ago. It's a real shame the town wall has closed as that was another gem. I have yet to visit hops d'amour. Really enjoyed the video, cheers 🍻🍺
Love when videos are filmed at night, adds something to the mood. The walkabout at night was sweet. Night pub visits have a certain charm day visits can't even come close to.
To the left of the entrance door into The Golden Cross you will see some faded paint marks on the brick work that harks back to ww11 and are markers for the then fire brigade ! Great vid
First video of yours I've seen. I follow the Craft Beer channel, but it's real ale and good friendly pubs I love - and this is a great advert for it. Cheers!
Haha Just seen your Video and there I was walking my Dog in the background, Think I Clocked you when I was walking around the park and thought you might be a vlogger LOL Nice one. Windmill is A great Pub local haunt for me.
10:01 In the states they Only sell , Pilsners Old Elephant Ale ( Never heard of Old Empire ) . My family Heralds from Chelsea in the 1600s , but in the states they changed their name .
I used to use The Old Windmill a lot back in the 70's & 80's when I was much younger, it was always known as Ma Browns also I used to use The Golden Cross a lot. What a shame the Whitefriars Olde Ale House & Town Wall Tavern (aka Hole in the Wall) are now both closed, you would of loved them.
Hi, I love the beer brand options, but bar staff seem to froth it up. When I pulled pints, it was 1 pull, then a slightly less severe top-up. You're happy I'm in the USA 😢
Love a Bass on draught and love your channel. I've been working my way through all the videos. This reminded me to ask - do they still make Double Diamond? There were a couple of places here (Las Vegas, NV) where I used to get it regularly, and then about twenty years back, it disappeared. Don't know if they quit making it or just quit sending it to the States. Anyway, loved that stuff. Keep up the good work with your channel!
Thanks, im glad youre enjoying the vids! Off the top of my head I couldn’t say, I’ve certainly not seen it on cask but it could still be produced by someone as a keg beer that I’ve just not spotted! Cheers 🍻
I thought for sure that the Town Crier was a Wetherspoons 😂 but what a brilliant selection of ales in each. I need to get north of London next time I'm in England
My next vid ironically is canal pubs of Coventry. I reviewed a couple of these fine boozers..its a cracking city for pubs n ales..i was pleasantly surprised like yourself. A good few pints n a 5 min walk back to the narrowboat 😊..cracking vid once again Ethan..ps that windmill is a hard pub to film ain't it, dead dark😂
I love a canal pub. Done quite a few on the Leeds Liverpool, Rochdale and Huddersfield Narrow canals. I’ve subscribed to you Dave and I’ll look out for your video 👍🏻
@THX-ic8yw thanks so much for the sub...the Huddersfield/Rochdale are a challenge to say the least, good effort. I've got a playlist of my canal/pub videos you might like. Canals n Pubs is just a perfect combo. Ethan's channel is my favourite new channel this year, he's doing a great job. Cheers 🍺👍😊
Got to say never would have considered Coventry as a place to visit but think you might have changed my mind, planning to stay in Warwick at some point next year so may well extend our stay so we can jump on a train and have an afternoon session 🍻 agree with you about Bass I always have one if we happen across it 🍺 look forward to the next one 👍
You should do it! We didn't hit all the top real ale spots and even so it was probably the most fun I had on a crawl so far. Everyone was really friendly and had a good chat with someone in most of the pubs! Cheers 🍻

The 'Old Windmill" should at least have some semblance of a windmill on the building's facade !.
Hi Eithan. Really enjoyed another of your great pub crawls - shame it's outside our range for a SPBW West Riding coach trip. I think your second guest reviewer needs a geography lesson if he thinks Herefordshire (i.e. Wye Valley Brewery/Butty Bach) is in Wales!
Thanks! Yeah it is a shame because I’d happily go back.. was very pleasantly surprised by the overall pub quality in Coventry. I also thought it was Welsh just going off the name! Every days a school day as they say! Cheers 🍻
To see this has made my day, to have you come to my home town , if I knew this earlier I would have showed you some incredible places , If your ever up for a collab I'd love to hear from you mate. Great video
just subscribed. thanks for sharing, black lager, great choice. wish it wasn't so frowned upon over here in the US to start the day off right like that!! maybe that will change with Trump in office. haha cheers
I strongly admire the way you don't pay attention to Guinness in any form like other TH-cam channels. We all know it's become a waste of time and money. An utterly soulless beer nowadays. Capitalism and marketing at its best. Suckers milk! 🤣🤣🤣
Great tour and big thank you for being positive about the city.

"I sea bass, I get sea bass'...lol...cheers from New Westminster, BC, Canada. Love your shows.
You made my city look class mate. Loved the positive comments. Top man
Also you can't beat a pub dog. Very few and far between these days.
Love the feel of the Old Windmill! Cheers!
Always Cool and Interesting
Cheers from your Subscriber in California 😎
Great Video!! Nice to hear good things about my home town. A really nice unbiased review of the Taverns in Coventry! Well done!
The Towne Crier pub is huge.
As you walked towards the Golden Cross through the shopping g area. You past the City Central library. This was once a music venue called the laccano where the specials and many other famous acts played into the early 80’s.

Well done. You’ve nailed every one of my favourite pubs in Cov.
Oh good, you’ll have to thank my esteemed guides for that one!
@ we were in the old windmill when you were there. 7 1/2 minutes in.

Who knew Coventry had so much to offer to the real ale/pub world? 🍻 Just as well the St. Bernard bouncer let you lot into the Broomfield Tavern!! 🐶 🐾
Yeah it was touch and go! But we passed the sniff test 😂 cheers 🍻

That Hops d’Amour has a bit of an ice cream shop vibe
Looks like a fun town that Coventry. I liked those first two pubs.
It was very fun! Cheers 🍻
'Butty Bach' is Welsh but the beer is brewed by Wye Valley in Hereford.
