- the striper was off the hook this day, right when we got there, the striper couldnt wait until our bait hits the bottom.
right now its a little hard to locate the fish due to water dropping at san luis reservoir so if you planning to go, get ready to hike!!!
what entrance did you take to enter the reservoir?
Dinosaur point
What time do you usually go to the lake?
Before sunrise or 3 hours before sunset
Another question is the water in San Luis to low or do I need a boat
Water is low. But this lake is big.. if u want to fish deep water. I would recommend boat
Nice caught, thinking taking the boat out there next week
Thanks for showing us the spot, but like others have said its a lot lower than what it shows here. I had no luck for striper. i\I caught a few grass shrimp around the los banos irrigation canals but it was hard work for so few shrimp. It was hot and im old .lol. needless to say i gave up on that spot and headed to mendota canal to fish for catfish and ended up with 9 the smallest at 2.5 lbs the largest at 7.5 lbs so back to selma i go. i was there the 23rd of july.
What other bait you use bro
How far is the walk?
It was 10 minute walk at the time. But with low water right now. U don't have to hike anymore. Park and fish
Where you guys get grass shrimp
East of Santa nella find dirt canals you will need a long fine fishing net with small hoes so grass shrimp won’t escape drag the bottom of the canal
Nice catch my dude if you don’t mind me asking how can I get there I have never been like what’s the address to get there? Thanks I’m advance
This is in San luis reservoir. The spot is call dinosaur point
@@fellowfisherman5055 where do you park at? At the boat launch place? Or along the roads?
@@Magoosna water is low now. So u can park almost anywhere along shore.
What spot is it brother?
I have a question man do you think the trout are still biting at bass lake?
And great vid
That's for watching.. yes . I do good every year around this time. Gotta throw far.. and I mean far.
Thanks bro
Another banger💯
What spot are you guys at
When did you go
Glad you're well!
It's ok to bring grass shrimp else where? I thought u can only use grass shrimp caught within the reservoir lol
From my understanding from reading the regulations. U can't transport bait from a different part of water if there alive.. so make sure their dead before transporting
With all those bites, you need to get some under water footage with your go pro, that would be bad ass. Nice video. 👍
New subscriber here, nice videos men thanks for sharing yo knowledge
I been watching your video a lot can you tell me your secret spots or where in San Luis. Thank you. Causes I want to go trying out.
There's not secret spot. If u hike to a spot where no one is willing to hike to. Then u can catch them. Let's say maybe 30 minute hike?
Is this off dinosaur point
I’ve trying to land a keeper out there but no luck so far
@@jessemaciel8275 yes it is. But the water level is different now.so it's a little hard to locate them
@@jessemaciel8275 No. by Basalt side one hour hike to get there.
Do the shrimp have to be live?
Nope. I freeze mine up but good for 1 time use
@@fellowfisherman5055 going tomorrow morning I got the shrimp finally found the connect lol
@@patric51077 now that u got it. Make sure u take care of it when u put it in the freezer. When they die that rot right away
@@fellowfisherman5055 yes sir good looking out
How do you know when the grass shrimp are no good to use? I keep reusing my I just re freeze them
keep them videos coming bro
When are we gonna a see you at sycamore island?
Maybe... I'll look into it..
Love your videos bro 👍👍 you should do a cat fish video
Tell me the lake. I'll give it a shot.. maybe?
Love your videos brother when you going to do some aqueduct fishing?
Should be good around October or November stay tune brother.. I go when the time is right
Bloodworms should be excellent bait. Fishes are a lot smaller than the old days (more than 20 years ago).
Everyone keeps the big daddy's and momma's,
yo. i went to the first spot about a month ago. 30 min walk spot. but no luck. operator error. cant wait to go out again. maybe this weekend. , but im not walking that far this time. 🤔 definitely taking shrimp from my not so secret shop.
That area don’t even look like that anymore, thats video is probably like a month ago or so…..
A week and a half
RN Market
Waters gone down way lower than that now.
Yea. This video is a week and a half old. Water dropping quick
@@fellowfisherman5055 ramp is on second launch already. the tunnel will be popping out in another week and ramp will need to be moved to third channel
@@1badEK thanks for the update.. I'll check it out soon
@@fellowfisherman5055 no prob. Went the other day and people drove their Jeep’s to the second point past the tunnel island lol
Nice video….you should go catfishing, summer is the right time.
I actually did.. lol didn't make any videos but it was on fire.

I love seeing people have a good successful day of fishing. But as a hunter I have a bit of an issue with dragging a fish through the sand if you are not sure if you can keep them. All living creatures deserve our respect imo. Great vid otherwise!
I forgot to say: I've never fished for stripers, so I don't know how difficult it would be to reel them to the edge of the water and release them there if necessary.
Fish belongs to the government.......bait shop belongs to the owner........this is free press.........go figure.
