I loved the show, you guys spoke on some very profound topics and I enjoy hearing your point of view. I do want to interject that the Civil War was not about emancipating slaves, it was fought to preserve the Union. To emancipate is simply to release from bondage. We were never freed. Lincoln emancipated us to break the south. Lincoln did believe slavery was wrong and he also believed that African people were inferior. His own words stated that if he could preserve the union without emancipating the slaves he would do it. I also want to add that the state of African American people remains unchanged partly because under the constitution, we are regarded as wards of the federal government. Not official citizens. There's a lot more to it but I'd be here all day and into the night. Any way I enjoyed your commentary and look forward to the next publication.

I would not be woke if it was not for Charles Wood I never met the man but I began to study after coming across him on this channel that led me to raising my consciousness Because of this channel I can spot tricknology anywhere an yes even in Birth of a nation after seeing that movie which I thought was great I understood its only one set of eyes that are valued and its not my black eyes also I felt that if people have no knowledge of self that a lot of people would miss out on a lot of the seeds that were dropped in a Birth of a nation

I've come to really like this channel because I can see dissent. Which allows me to humor opinions and ideals, that I don't agree with. One of concepts Mr. Woods was presenting with people murdering each other; opens the doors to the concept of how people solve their problems (even perceived problem that don't exist). Which opens further doors in the free market. Knowledge given is an information that is not respected.

I appreciate the wisdom of these gentlemen. I like that sharing their perspectives have become a format for videos and podcasts. However, I think the one thing mistake I think they make -- and this is a likely result of their experience -- is that they tend to speak as if compromises within this vast capitalist behemoth are a negative for the projects they are reviewing.

He's.. well.. along with Mike, has shown the value in film criticism, the value of knowing your history, who you are.

Mike and Prof I love your show, but I just can't with David Oyelowo. I literally don't care for anything he says or does. He accepted a rinky dink 'honour' from the 'queen'. Making him an 'order of the British Empire'. How any so called 'conscious' member of the black community could accept an award given in the name of an empire that caused so much destruction to African people and their descendants is beyond me. But once again I do love the show, wonderfully engaging and challenging arguments.

British Empire Abolished Slavery. Slavery still exists in Africa. Go and fight that then you can so self righteous.

Trajanify they also started, and was a huge part of enforcing it, its only right you get rid of that they not about to get a cookie for righting wrongs, and they never righted the wrong in the first place, boy bye

After the movie was done i literally didn't get up until the end of the credits. I saw this film late so there weren't to many people but half of the people there did the same. How Nat Turner and other characters gave credence to black anger over there situation (especially the guy near the end who asked to go in alone to kill his enslaver, WHOA!) was powerful. Great Film, PERIOD. No White savior, no noticeable downplaying of the truth of the situation, yes you can nit pick here and there but Nate Parker did a great job conveying the real truth.

One of the things that did consider making you look at Tim Wise another way is that facebook post he had about Nate Parker and the allegations surrounding his personal life.

Mr. Gregory believes in a raw whole foods diet. Somewhat Vegan and vegetarian. I don't believe he consumes dairy so probably closer to vegan diet. That's his "secret" to looking so good at such an old age.

There were no changes in the film between the version at Sundance 2016 and the theatrical release. Whom ever told that it is a bold face lie. I viewed the film the day after Sundance ended. What happens is all films that win awards at Sundance are screened for a final time after the festival officially ends.

The problem is we black people we did not support nate Parker movie period and it's a shame, so next time if you see him making movies pisses people off don't complain because we're too shallow am done.
