Are capsule wardrobes boring? Maybe. But it doesn’t have to be. Today I’m sharing with you some ways I like to style my outfits in my capsule wardrobe to make it less “boring.” I hope this will give you some inspiration to play around with your capsule and create new looks! Thanks for watching

I have minimized my clothes, and now I only have or buy second-hand and vintage clothes. But I like the color and very different clothes and extravagant clothes, so I don't have basics or neutrals at all. I love the big shirts, men's shirts, and too different waistcoats, shorts, longs. And do very different outfits mixing everything. I live now in Scotland, so I use different vintage hats and complements.
Started minimizing my closet since 2019. It started when I moved to a different city and realized it's so hard to relocate if you have a lot of things.

Your light and dark academia aesthetic pieces of clothes are my favourites . I'm a huge fan of earth tones. Especially the earth tones with boho fusion 🌻.. Well I think pure white looks perfect on you and the color has a tranquil vibe on you. And I like each and every brown color piece in you wardrobe . So happy to be back here! I was away in Romania to help my brother harvest blackberries so during that time, I left my ''real'' life aside, including YT, but now I'm back in Italy and back to my normality :). While watching your video I realized that I have way too many clothes in my closet. Now let me explain. I am now healed but until not long ago I was obsessed with buying clothes. That's because my mum never bought me when I was a kid and I was wearing the same clothes for ages and that got me very frustrated. Once I started earning I've spent so much on clothing and I still have all that. Now I buy something new max twice a year and even then not more than a couple of pieces. Loved the Doina jewels, Doina it's a Romanian name actually, and not even a very common one! Loved that pearl, so unique! Great to see you again superb Sophie!
Lovely inspiration - I had a very minimalist wardrobe during university (mainly blacks and greys with a little white). While I found it great at the time, I got really bored with it and didn't feel my best after a couple of years.
I experimented a lot with clothes last summer and have now done a big declutter again, coming back to a place of balance. The big takeaway from all this for me is the value of investing in very high quality pieces - it's amazing the difference that material and fit can make. Also not to be afraid of letting go of worn out items! Sometimes I forget just how old things really are and imagine them as looking like they did when I first bought them.
I still use a coat that I used in high school, 20 years ago.
I found this really helpful! Sometimes it’s nice to have a reminder that just bc you’re sticking to the basics, that doesn’t mean they have to be boring. I like to have some florals and purples in my capsule wardrobe!

My favorite look was the one I think you referred to as boring - White shirt, black top - no belt, nothing else!! This from a woman who only wears black :) - (scarves with color as accents) - and now rarely wears jewelry after a life of collecting it. Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication. But your look is perfect for you! and I applaud your choices! I think our tastes change throughout our lives,
and there is a season for everything. From CH with love.
A few blush pieces in my neutral wardrobe adds a feminine touch. A small blush bag, scandal, or a tiny flower in my hair. I love old cameos, lockets and I have a few old fashion broaches. They add instant sophistication and a pop of colour. Never boring. Straw hats add drama especially with an Edwardian hat pin. It protects you from the sun and insures the hat stays on, if you have a collection of them you can always find one to suit the outfit.

I list all of my "maybe" clothes for sale. I can never make up my mind about whether I want to keep it, but the moment I get an offer for the item is when I know for sure. The benefit of this is that you can always reject the offer if you truly want to keep it and make money if you don't

Oh, my wardrobe is so simple!! 😍
Plainly:
- I always carry my Harri Koskinen's design Savotta 212 color black backpack 😍
- it's essential to have only one kind of black good quality merino -blend socks. Remember! Only. In that case it's purely impossible to have more than 1 sock missing!
- my fav sneakers are Adidas Forest Grove in color black/white. I have 3 same pairs, same size.
- I luv my black linen-cotton trousers 😍 Like they have a cordon in them - so I don't have to use a belt to stress my belly.
- I use same Continental white t-shirts all over the year.
- autum / fall I use my black merino-wool roll-neck, and I have another, warm, for the winter.
- in winter I use black merino-wool beanie. Black sheepskin gloves and a black Fjällräven winter parka jacket 😍

My go to for work or fall/winter is black pants, black cardigan, and a print shirt. The print shirt changes every outfit so it’s a new look every day. Sometimes I do a jewel toned shirt with a long necklace.

I have that maybe box, too - I call it limbo! I allow myself ten things max in there and I regularly reassess. It just helps me clarify my feelings on a piece. Sometimes things come joyfully back into my wardrobe and sometimes things are more easily parted with after their stay in limbo!

Love how you added more interest through jewelry! It looks beautiful! I live in a cooler climate (Germany), so I can play with socks, sweaters and layering in general. Since I stick to neutrals (worked on my closet in 2020/2021) I actually love all of my clothes and outfits, but it´s also still hard for me to not want something new. So I´m still working on my mindset and I´m happy for all the inspiration of "look what you already have in your closet"! If you feel like making more videos like that - I would appreciate it a lot

I do a 30 piece capsule for 30 days. Just as I start to get bored with my capsule, the month is over and it’s time to switch it up again, using items from my main closet.

I love styling my outfit with accessories or layers, makes a simple outfit look so different. I have a few locally make jewelry from and artisan here as well as a unique piece made from a huge sea glass I found on the beach. 😊💕 have a great day hun love always.

Yes I completely agree with you it is soooo much harder in the summer months! I'm breaking out my fall capsule for a video but I won't actually get to wear any of it until Oct/ Nov because its still summer here in Sept lol. Thank you for the wonderful styling tips... Yeah, I’m similar. Whenever I’m on trips and have a very limited capsule of clothing to choose from, I get bored and uninspired-kinda makes me less excited to take on the day too. Also, frequent laundry is a downside. I had to accept that for me personally, I will need a little more clothes than the typical “minimalist” to be content.

I love adding some simple gothic jewellery or hair accessories to create different looks. I also like to switch up how I wear different things. I have far more tops than bottoms but what I've chosen gives me tons of options.

I have a ton of fleece in my 35 piece year long wardrobe (sans outer wear, accessories, shoes, leisure/ athletic gear). I spend most of my days as a SAHM in the upper left PNW. I have a circulatory disease hence the 6 pieces of fleece in my wardrobe. I tried wearing intense boho (Spell and free people) but with kids I realized all I do is hike and go to parks, so I need to be warm and durable. So nearly everything is REI and Patagonia. Blessed. But it’s just reality.
Thinking practically is key! Love both Rei and Patagonia 😍 I used to have so many sweaters and dresses, but realized all I do is walk the dogs and go exercise when I leave the house
It’s best to dress for your real life rather than your fantasy self.

You inspired me to buy two tanktops of good, thick cotton quality that I wore a lot in summer. Also love to add earrings to my outfits. I'm off and on about necklaces, but earrings are my statement piece, and I have quite a lot of them. They pair so well with simple turtlenecks. It also depends on the climate you live in of course, but I also love to add scarves. I can imagine that might be too hot on Maui ;) love your videos! xxx

I totally agree with your use of accessories! I do the same thing and have for about 10 years now! All of my clothes fit into one army duffle bag, or steamer trunk. I started doing this when I was traveling for years without a home base. I find now that it just makes my life easier to not have to spend as much time every day picking out complex outfits. Hey- FYI- Einstein and Steve Jobs both have done the same thing! Might not be a bad idea?

I don't buy very expensive clothes and don't mind giving them away or throwing them when I am bored of them. I like color in general. By the way, I would love to see an outdoor video of Hawaii. My husband got a job offer to work as a Software Engineer / Computer Programmer in 2017 with Hawaiian airlines in Hawaii. I was studying fulltime in San Diego then so I told him let's stay here and then he continued his job in California. We regret that so much, we always watch your videos and think about being in Hawaii one day. I wish you can share some luck with us. We currently live in Canada but really want to be in Hawaii in a year or two.

I tend to wear a lot of black or neutral, and very casual all the time .. As I'm quite tanned naturally,
I love hats too, not so much necklaces for whatever reasons, but I do enjoy earrings, and occasionally I will add a red ballet flats to my seemingly 'boring' outfits, just to give it a touch of color. You're right, having more outfits don't always means we have more to wear, I am at that point whereby I'm getting rid of some of my clothes, usually donating. I generally keep away some of the quality ones, such as my boots, for when I travel to a cooler place (s) Other stuff are usually vacuum packed because of the humidity here. And speaking of which, I need to go sort out some of the clothes I'm not wearing, haha..🤦♀️😅
Just like you, I'm trying to go the minimalist route.

you look so pretty in white and in that sequence with makeup on.
for me the interchangeability doesn't work, because it is more time consuming to keep switching the items. what i do is monochromatic outfits that i build head to toe and i put on hangers, so they are ready to go. 5-6 such colorful monochromatic outfits is all i need. problem is that i live in an area with 4 seasons and i need a lot of stuff, but the monochrome ready to go seems the most practical for me. My colors: white, black, beige, red, light pink, deep green.

I think your style is more island chic❤️however if you were to suddenly move to a colder location, then how would you adjust your wardrobe in terms of what to buy or what your style would be like and how it would be different from your style in Hawaii?
