Friends, my gaming laptop has not been cooperating lately and it's time for an upgrade to a tower.......what GPU and CPU would you recommend? I'd like to be able to play and record in 1440p for future videos!
@@Tacobelldestroyer I'd prefer to not go crazy on the spending but I don't want to go cheap either. My gaming laptop plays the game amazing but lately it's getting too much for it when I'm playing and recording at the same time. I figured 1440p was more realistic budget wise vs. going all out on a 4K build since I'm reading that there's not that much difference visually between 1440p and 4K compared to the more noticeable improvement from 1080p to 1440p
keep on truckin outlaw life thanks! I don't have my CDL but my goal in the future is to buy an older Mack, Pete, or KW and restore it.....just need so save a few pennies first
Another nice run buddy and as always your truck sounded great. As far as what your new PC goes, you can see in my description what my specs are and it was $1400 two almost three years ago. I've seen a lot of video's with the high dollar parts, 4k quality blah blah blah and for the money to me it isn't worth it. You can set most of your settings in the Nvidia control panel and in game settings for great looking quality. Go by your budget and like you said, don't go overboard but don't go cheap either. I'm pretty sure you'll make the right decision and your video's will look great.
Thanks for the info! The laptop I have has been great for just playing the game but I'm pushing it passed it's limits when I start recording on decent graphic levels. It seems like it's bad timing right now with Covid supplies where most graphic cards are sold out or priced crazy high so probably not the best timing to try to build something but oh well.....
@@HammerLane79 You are absolutely right, I've looked on BestBuy and every descent graphics card is always sold out including descent Gaming PC's. I've thought about a 20 series card but I keep watching video's reviewing the 2060, 2070, 2080 etc and for the money there's not that much difference in what I have now. Mine isn't the greatest but for the price of a new card mine is doing fine. I bought the ROG Asus laptop several years ago with the 660 graphics which was the top of the line back then and the same thing happened to me that's happening to you. Good luck man, I hope you find what your looking for.
@@66lwmorgan Yes Sir, it's a hassle since everything has to work together and 1 better item requires all better items. I was reading about 4K vs 1440p and it sounds like the difference isn't that drastic (compared to going from 1080-1440p) so I planned out going that route but even that seems extremely expensive now. I was looking at the 2080 yesterday as an option but those are $400-500 overpriced compared to the MSRP which is a tough pill to swallow.
@@HammerLane79 I agree, my system actually came with the 1070 card but when it arrived I upgraded to the 1080. My previous PC was replaced with the one I have now which was basically the same PC except for the SSD went from 120 to a 240. For $500 the upgrade to the 1080 wasn't even close to being worth the money. It's hard to say what to get, everybody has there own opinions, trust your gut and jump in head first, that's what I did, lol.
Derek thanks for the suggestion, I'm going to start trying new maps soon.....I'll probably wait until the new 1.40 version comes out since I'm hearing it's coming soon.
Marcel thanks for watching......I'm using an app called "Sim Dashboard" and the screen I'm using is one of the popular templates from the "Community Tab" section of the app for ATS. It should be one of the most common ones at the top of the list
D Warren thanks for watching! This truck and trailer were both free mods.....also I have links to the controls and equipment I use in the description if you're looking for some ideas to reference.
Amarrion Hicks it's an awesome game you'll enjoy it! There's a few options for controls....some people use a cheap handheld controller (or even keyboard I guess) but for me my suggestion is to go with a real wheel and pedals. The cheapest is normally the Logitech (which I use and have links in the description) but if you're planning on getting serious with other racing type games the sky is the limit on how much you want to spend on it.....it can get expensive real quick!
