Quick question on page 2 of your settings, your set up for the default gear is set as Hige, what's that for? Is it for faster take off? Because mine by default is set to "Mid"
It's cause i don't have a switch anymore. I just leave it in high.

Why after I enter values in the EM-100 controller after pressing the record button, after switching off and on again the controller returns to the old settings.
That's interesting. Never heard that 1 before. Try reinstalling the software. Also check your cord for continuity. I've never had this issue, hopefully this helps otherwise I'm not quite sure about this 1.
Hi, have you tried using the regenerative braking option on the controller? How is it triggered because I can see you can have regenerative braking on without having the e brake turned on. So in that case when you use your actual disk brakes it will collect the power from the braking? Thanks in advance
As soon as the brake lever makes the click sound from the brake light switch, that's when the regen kicks in. The disks have nothing to do with regen. They are for braking only. The brake light switch signals the controller to engage the regen. I hope that helped.

@alr2989 yea probably. It won't hurt it either way cause ur just switching the data lines, not the power lines. If it doesn't work 1 way, switch the 2 wires and try again.
@@GreenLeoMan if i copy the exact same settings as you on my tao leo will the switch still work to make it slow/fast?
@alr2989 no. Mine is setup for sport mode only. And I'm using the connection for reverse, I just set that 1 to be my sport mode. All the other settings will work. Just not the last page of connections. Sry, mines rigged different.
Hi. I looked at your video a few times, and it seems pretty complicated and intimidating, but I am not at all technical. I have just ordered a Chinese scooter with a package of 72V-70AH lithium battery / 2000W QS MOTOR and a VOTOL EM100. I am now trying to find where to buy a USB connector to votol EM100. Do you have a link? Also if i only want to raise maximum speed limit to say 80 kmh, what setting do I edit (ie what page and what setting on software user interface you demonstrated in your video). Hope you can help, thanks. And trust me if i could find someone in Cuba who was an expert in this I would :)
I got the cable from aliexpress. Look for the "my tao leo parts list" video in the tao leo tech playlist. It has links to everything including the programming cable.
And the em-100 should be with a 3000w qs motor. Ur gonna have to find the amp rating on that motor and set the software accordingly or u could easily smoke ur motor. And as far as limiting. Just leave ur "hdc enabled" in the software and u'll be fine. Just dont over amp ur motor. Good luck!

Hi, I ordered a new em100 and im having a problem when I release the throttle the motor keeps spinning at full speed and hitting the brakes isn’t stopping it, it only stops when I turn the key off. Do you possibly know what would be causing this ?
Check the throttle settings in the controller. Should be from 0-5v. Otherwise I don't know. Did u follow my steps to program it? What bike? What parameters is it currently set to? U didn't give me alot to go on there.
@@GreenLeoMan it’s a tao leo with the 17 inch qs motor and most of the settings were already set to the same as yours in the video and any that were different i set them to the same as yours. And the I one that i ordered is the em 100 but the ymmotor version. I ended up getting a hold of the seller and he said He will remote into my laptop to debug it, I ordered two of these controllers and they both have the same problem.
I know nothing about the ymmotor version. Hopefully what they do for you works. Good luck and let me know how u make out. Kinda curious about that 1 myself.
Max from Alibaba was able to program my tao leo and my cruiser ebikes and both are working great now! I am also able use a bigger (84v) battery that charge’s to about 98v fully charged and sits about 92v after driving, I just had to set the over voltage limit to 98v and it’s been working great no problems. Just got my programming cord installed, I hooked it to the false gas tank and so I can open it with a key and access the cord!
Ever play with rate of rise and decline?
Yea a little. The faster the rise the higher the amps so u don't wanna adjust it too much. As far as decline. That's for regen breaking so it don't matter. Basically, how fast would u like to slow down lol.
Can you explain the parameters more? And why it is set as that?
Maybe in the spring. The bikes put away for the season.
Is it the same with the VOTOL EM-30S ? I need to change the voltage.

@@GreenLeoMan I got frustrated trying to program the EM-30S so I just used a normal 48v controller that was so much easier.

Try switching the blue and orange back to normal. For some reason some work right out of the box and some don't. Trial and error my friend. Good luck 👍.

If the park is engage what is showed to the display is it hall failure?
No. If park is angaged, the "P" on the display tab will be selected. If turning off ur bike and turning it back on doesn't get rid of the "hall failure", u might have an issue with your motor wires going to the controller. If u continue to have this issue, check your motor wires to make sure none have shorted out. The 3 big wires coming from the motor, the plastic covering the wires breaks down over time and could cause a short. I had to strip the black casing off the wires and could immediately see cracks in the plastics everywhere. I just wrapped all 3 wires with electrical tape and the issue went away. It's in 1 of my videos, i just don't remember which 1 anymore lol. Good luck and tnx for watching!

hey i did all that but the throttle doesn’t work, and on the display page, Undervoltagw and Overheating is selected !
Is your controller the em-100? Remember these settings are for a tao leo. If u have both of these then it has to be a bigger issue.

I don't have a copy of the original setup. I had to replace my controller before I could save it. But I'll ask the shop I got mine from. I'm sure they have it backed up. I've gotten her up to 115kph but I ran outta road lol. It still had more to give so I'm not quite sure how fast it goes yet.
Hello. in the video you talk fast and I don't understand. how to reset the "controller failure" flag. in my controller it is still active and the engine does not work
To reset the "controller failure" just turn ur key off and wait 10 seconds, then turn it back on and all should be well. Good luck!
@@GreenLeoMan thank you but I have another problem. I have em100. when I connect, the "busbar current" and "phase current" fields show 0 and the model shows em30.
When I enter some values and give "param write" and connect again, it is em30 and 0 again. Similarly, on page 2, the "current limiting" field. always 0. I can save the remaining fields and they are remembered correctly. the controller does not turn the engine. is it bricked?
Can u switch it back to em100 on page 1? That might help
@@GreenLeoMan I check em100, I click write param, software says: write ok, I click connect and model change to em30s , currents change to 0
That's an issue I'm unsure about. Could be a faulty controller but I'm not sure. Could be missing a step somewhere in the process. Maybe fauly cord? Not sure. This 1 confuses me. Keep trying things and I'll do some research to c if i can find a solution. Let me know if u get it in the meantime.
Still getting the "communication abnormal" after switching both wires back and forth. Solders and wires are in tact. Sees coms and port locations. Also tried an older windows laptop along with changing the language and different versions of software's.
And u turned the bike on right? Sry had to ask. Also did u try cycling the key on and off between settings? Just trying to cross stuff off the list.
If it keeps failing after that...I hate to say it but u might have a faulty cable, it's a possibility. They are made in china after all.
Yup everything’s wired up with ignition and display to ensure it’s on. Would you recommend just another non cam bus cable or Bluetooth to try ? Also only other thing I noticed was on my harness for the programming port I have a pink wire which is 5v reference but yours didn’t
It doesn't need it. Try disconnecting that wire and trying again
That could very well be the issue. U might have to switch ur orange and blue again but hopefully this should work. For some reason they work without the 5v.
How many kms do you have on the bike?

Sry but no. I built it for me. My purpose on here is to share my knowledge with the world. One day down the road when I'm actually making money I will be opening a custom bike shop but that's a long time away considering it's taken almost 2 years to get to 360 subs. I plan on having merch, bikes, parts and a whole bunch of other bike related stuff. But now is not the time.
And I have a 2 way alarm. Plus some extra security features. But if u'd like to try to steal it I'd be more than happy to send u to jail. Threatening to steal my bike is not a good way to get me to do anything but ban u from my channel. Keep it clean.

does this controller only work with qs motors?
I would imagine it would work with other motors but u'd have to know all the specs of the motor in order to program the controller for it.
But I don't really know for sure. I'm just the leo guy lol.

@@GreenLeoMan I got stuck on pole pairs for my motor at first, because I got a generic 1500w hub motor for my Kona MTB and I put 46 in pole pairs(46 magnets my motor has) and took 2 days of trouble shooting till I realized a pair is 2 🤣 put in 23 in pole pairs and the controller works, just trying to understand the rest as they is quite alot of boxes to tick and the rest

@@macauleyc64 you can actually lower the pole pairs so it would be more forceful/torquier. But it may depend to the generation of hub on how it is built, say a 3000w powersave hub normally, 28 pole pairs, i set it to 24 its much snappier now. My mentor said i can go as low as 20 pole pairs but is about the limit it can handle. More like a at your own risk sector.
I like to leave the pole pairs set acording to how many there actually are. I find if u set them lower, yes it's snappier but alot less smooth, u can really feel it on a crawl for a dead stop. Yes u can do this but like marionne patrick said it's at the risk of your motor if u go to low. In my opinion I'd leave it where it is.

I think spending $2k extra just for the motor is a little much. Ur still limited by the controller. But if $ dont matter then sure. But i prefer qsmotor brand motors. Qs has a 15kw motor. What u think about that?

ok well i have the 1200, 150 and 200, non of which i can get to spin the hub. i have followed every single fracking guide, i have all the manuals and software, its been months of me trying to figure this out,

I hate to ask but did u disengage the park setting? It won't go anywhere if the controller is in park. I just removed the park feature by setting park to null. I can't send u my file. Sry bud. And u said the 150 and 200. These settings are for the 100. That might be ur issue. I dont know the settings for those controllers. Unfortunatly it's a very frustrating game or trial and error. The video makes it look like i just knew.what to do. It took me a long time to get my settings right. And my motor wouldnt spin until i took the park option away. Hope u get it man. Goodluck.
Also these settings are.for a tao leo running a 3kw qsmotor. U never mentioned what bike u have. And u have the 1200 what? 1200w motor? These settings will cook that little thing. U are very vague on your descriptions.
