- An old route from 2013 with good bones yet lacking in a lot of areas came the "Pacific Surfliner"
This is a comprehensive update to the route (a separate new route) with new track/ballast, signals, infrastructure, assets, track alignment, grades, foliage and more.
A group effort from the team at Project SoCal and linked below.

Hey one of the dev's here from Project SoCal 12:29 this section was created by me and took a bit of time over a month of preparation then 2 months of putting all the correct places down with regrading the area's and putting in tons of detail with the section. The Anaheim Canyon station is bare at the moment but will be getting some more love in the future! ❤

Thank you for the scenery upgrade. I spent approximately seventy hours working with your 2023 upgrade, correcting the incorrect permanent speed signs, placing mile posts and adding the correct signal number plates to intermediate block signals. I also added custom signs at each control point, electric locks at hand operated switches were required and other details not included in your 2023 update. I worked for Santa Fe / BNSF in Southern California and am familiar with the real life operation.
Sorry that you didn't find our route that we released to your personal level of detail, but to add to things short, Its to enhance the playability to get somewhat some detail that we can gather with our own eyes via what we had at the time. we are not gonna sit here and get every small minor detail when it comes to mileposts down, that would take up to hours to get it correct and none of us would want to just get that much of detail.@@aggiebob1 We just made the map up to date when it comes to track layout, speed limits, and scenery.

Used to live within a couple of miles from both That recycling center and your Unknown station. The station is the Anaheim Canyon Metrolink Station. My ex used to take it to Los Angeles everyday. That Metrolink route starts in San Bernardino through the Anaheim canyon station, Anaheim Stadium station, Fullerton on to LA. The portion of that non completed route from Fullerton is the BNSF Freight line to San Berdo. The recycling Yard is now only to recycle railroad equipment, other than the usual. Finally, thanks for your great videos.

Lovely surprise as I didn’t know there was an enchantement pack in the works. Train simulator really needs a Siemens Charger loco for this route now for surf liner and coaster ops. I think the devs chose to extend the route south of San Diego because Coaster actually plan to build a new station at the stadium if I remember correctly.
20:49 -- The primary freight railroad use of Stuart Mesa Yard is the Escondido Branch, which receives night-time freight service down to its end 20 miles from Oceanside. Stuart Mesa is pretty cool because in addition to freight equipment, you will see Coaster, Metrolink, and when the San Clemente cliffs are causing trouble, Amtrak cars and locos.
24:53 - The "third track" is simply a dedicated platform for Coaster trains, called "Platform 3." Coaster trains often stop at "Platform 1" by the train station, the usual spot for NB and late-night SB Amtrak trains, if they are ending their runs and headed to Stuart Mesa. The crossovers south of the train station are used to allow Metrolink to put their trains on a side track so they don't block service on the main tracks.
The one thing missed is the pedestrian subway under the tracks here. The passenger underpass has always been there. There is another new subway at Carlsbad Poinsettia, too.

Im dying to have the central CA route (Bakersfield - san Francisco) amtrak san joaquin train, double decker cars, and route. It would be the first train game to have it.

This is my first route. It got me into train simulator games. Can’t believe it’s been 10 years since it’s been released.
Don't need the route so much but I have been racking what is left of my brain to remember the name of the tree and grass assets. I had those assets on a different computer that went belly up some years ago at about the same time as my memory loss. The roads and sidewalk assets as well. Score! Thanks for the memory jog.

19:45 - Ironically, passenger service is suspended between San Juan Capistrano and Oceanside because of landslip at San Clemente. I have to drive up to Irvine now, until the train tracks are reopened for passenger trains.
12:06 - You meant to say "Orange," not "Olive." The Orange, CA station is just blocks south of the junction you focused on.
Well as a del mar resident i can say that our bridge is just a plane wooden trestle with no concrete pillars in it so thats not quite rite. Also at the abandoned Washington street junction opposite the construction equipment there is a single stall engine shed which has been build

32:37 Continuing the direction the camera is facing i assume doesn't have scenery.
They added a fair amount of track but left it blank in the original.
Thing i like about projects like this on old DLC routes is the attention to detail.
Lot of the DTG released routes just feel lacking in the attention to detail and have a more dull feel like they were rushed for release.
Some of the routes GUSTAVTIME does for there video's the attention to detail on some of the old neglected looking routes makes me wish they would give a link to the routes.
Extension 2023 of the Abandoned Railway Route, for example or Gustavtime route complete tour.
Though both aren't triple A quality, they do have a certain appeal to them.

This is wonderful! The only thing that bugs the heck out of me is the roads still look horrible. Just something about them, too wide that two cars could fit in one lane, lack of sidewalk and other pedestrian related friendly points, and the overall texture quality that just doesn't match up with the overall downtown scenery, foliage, and building structures, especially getting to San Diego. I know this is a majority of the problem for every route, since there is a lack of good road assets for TS. However, while most people will attest that this is Train Simulator, if a road is going to look that bad that it's noticeable in a detailed environment where it's supposed to blend out, that becomes a problem within its own self.

Not gonna lie this makes me wanna get back to finishing up my Atlanta to Macon route that I ain’t worked on in about 7 months due to life as we all know so far it has excellent scenery from Atlanta to Rex Ga once I get to McDonough Ga it semi prototype because them dem wasn’t working right on my sim at the time I started so I just kinda eyeballed it because stayed in GA all my life and kinda know how the rail elevation is plus doing my research at the same time but when it’s finished you will enjoy trust me it will be the freeware for ga of course everybody will need every damn us route that came out lol and a few more I took notes about making custom scenery out of already in game buildings and stuff lol thank you minerman it’s like drawing a painting getting creative and all that stuff so yeah wish me well😂 we gone see how it turns out

i think the track comes from the Chicago Racetrack route - make sure you've got all the req's
