keep in mind that i read a lot for this channel so i have more time & opportunity than most people do - it's totally ok to be in a reading slump sometimes or to have other things going on in your life than books!! reading is supposed to be fun, not something that you force yourself to do - just keep picking up the books that you really in your heart of hearts want to read and know that however much you're able to get through you're killing it

lexi i just wanted to comment and share with you that i read “notes on an execution” in may, it was a rec i got from your channel and WOW was it amazing. the details and ties throughout the story are so good. i loved the different perspectives from all the women in his life as well along with the choice to tell the story in second person. this story was disturbing and insightful and also so sad, i cried at the end. a book ill truly never forget. so thanks for your recommendation!! ❤❤
I am also an Andrew Joseph White girl, so I’ll be right there with you. His books are so unique and his lived experience is so intrinsic to the things he writes that I will always be sat and ready to read anything of his. His melding of body horror, neurodivergence/mental illness, trauma, religious trauma (as in HFWU), found family, and radical acceptance of the self is SO good and special.
I've been binging your videos and every time you've mentioned hating Den of Vipers I feel so validated. One of the only books I DNF'd yet it truly haunts me despite attempting to read it months ago
been binging a lot of booktube content for the very first time, and your channel is my absolute favorite. I wish there was more content but perhaps that is why every video of yours is an absolute banger.
Slow burn romance books with yearning are my favorites of all time-!!! Your takes have never failed me before I hope you can make a video specific to that genre one of these days 🥹💖
The self control that I displayed by waiting forty eight hours to watch a Lexi video (so that I could have it as a little birthday treat) is stronger than anything before seen, and I think I deserve some applause.

i saved the last part of the video to watch at the right time, and it hit just the way i needed to. nobody i know has read The Spirit Bares Its Teeth, and so hearing you talk about it in such an insightful way mirrored exactly my feelings on it. it felt like letting go of a breath, 10/10 now i know peace
The joy I felt when I saw your video it cannot be described into words so imagine that gif of the kitten jumping up and down. Also thank you for making reading so fun and so like lighthearted for a lack of better words.
I’ve just stumbled across your TH-cam videos and honestly, you are speaking all of the thoughts in my brain. Especially the “I like it when things actually happen in the books that I read” line, this this this.
I loved The Spirit Bares Its Teeth, I actually read it right after I had surgery for endometriosis. It was a crazy experience reading Silas’s inner thoughts about hating his female anatomy and feeling very similar emotions myself, it made me feel a lot more sane if that makes sense? Also, Lexi if you’re looking for yearning and slow burn, The Wolf and the Woodsman by Ava Reid is perfect for that, it’s amazing!! Really excellent romance and story overall highly recommend ❤
@@newlynova yes she’s my fav!! You actually introduced me to her and now I’ve read every book she’s put out. Can’t wait for Lady Macbeth!! Looking forward to your review of TWATW 💕

I DNF'd The Ministry of Time for the reasons you mentioned. I thought it was going to be a fresh take on a time-travel romance, but with all the other genres sort of shoehorned in, I felt like it lost focus, which meant I did too, and then I didn't even care to find out the twist. I was so bummed!
I found your channel two days ago, and I am sorry to say this, but you are my new hyperfixation! I've already watched all of your TH-cam videos, and I'm now watching all of your tiktoks! The way you talk and explain things is amazing!
I loved The naturals! I think what surprised me the most was how much I fell in love with the whole gang. Usually the "know-it all-person" can be tiring, but here it added some extra flare, espiecially in most random and mundane moments, like a game of truth or dare
Sorry to hear you may have been feeling down. Honestly I’ve been down and lonely for a while. I turn to books and writing a lot. I lost my best friend a few months ago and you remind me of her with your humor. Thank you for making me feel like I have a friend again :-). Hope you’re well

12:43 UGH LEXI YOUR MIND my friend recommended me this book and I rated it a 3 and I totally agree with your take. I felt slightly uncomfortable with how criminals were portrayed and I was like am I being picky? And no. I’m not!
I was literally thinking which episode of yours should I rewatch and potentially add some books I'm in the mood for in my already ginormous TBR when you posted!
i read hell followed with us earlier this year and loved it. i’ve been wanting to read the spirit bares it’s teeth, but i was scared i wouldn’t like it as much. its cutting to the front of the tbr. you’ve charmed me.
If you haven’t discovered it yet, Olivia Atwood has a new book called The Witchwood Knot and it’s a darker story set in the same universe. I found her through a Kickstarter for a gorgeous edition of it and pledged just based on the author’s writing for the campaign. It’s a fantastic book in my opinion, easily a 4.5 star for me. Anyways I think you’d really enjoy it!
you've been the only person on this godforsaken website that just constantly puts out high quality content that i enjoy no matter what it's about AND you're hilarious??? like you could post a review of a high school mathematics textbook and i'd still eat it up
Another amazing video! I really enjoy the way you are able to articulate the fact that you can read a book and have conflicting opinions on its contents. I also think your take on relating a readers own experiences to the complexities of dual traumas in The Spirit Bares its Teeth was really beautiful. Hope you are well ❤😊
i've recently purchased the naturals and now i think i might have to pick it up soon! loved hearing all your thoughts on these books, i can't get over how articulate you are I COULD NEVER

I'm neurodivergent but not trans and while I couldn't relate 100% to Silas in The Spirit Bares Its Teeth, I still loved reading his perspective. I'm sensitive to body horror but it didn't bother me too much in that particular book. The romance bits were a lovely and an unexpected surprise. Overall, a great piece of historical fiction that I would wholeheartedly recommend!
andrew joseph white quickly became one of my favorite authors between hfwu and tsbit. theyre so gorey and gruesome but also the language he uses is so artistic and beautiful in my opinion. highly highly recommend
Lexi! You delight me AND give me the guidance I long for! I feel now, after watching most of your videos and calibrating your thoughts/taste against mine, across the books we both have read, that you are kindred spirit. A guiding spirit perhaps. I look forward to each video. You rock.
I sometimes enjoy olivie blakes books and writing style But my absolute favorite 5 star Read was alone with you in the ether! You should def give it a try😮❤
hey lexi! dunno if youll see this but i used to be an avid reader when i was younger and then ✨trauma✨ Stumbled upon your channel a few months ago and its slowly reawakening my want to read again. i appreciate you
I'd admired your deep understanding of every book that you read... your comprehension skill is amazing...i need to keep studying so that someday i will reach your level of proficiency
As a diagnosed adhd person whos also trans (which tbh I hate admitting, usually I just pretend to be my prefered gender on the internet but its relevant here) the last part of the video hit so hard. especially the "did my autism [for me adhd] cause my transness" and the part about not being able to talk about it because you dont want to give others ammunition. anyways, even tho it might be second-hand from the book, still thanks for talking about it. imo thats a topic that really needs more discussion that doesnt immediately become fodder for anti queer groups.
the mariana zapata thing is so real i only read one of her books (from lukov with love) and it pissed me off because a slow burn doesn’t mean anything if there’s no tension or yearning… all slow no burn
i love your channel because its so hard to find readers who have the same taste as me. especially the moment you started talking about the naturals, I literally said oh teenage criminal minds and then you got to describing sloan 💀💀💀
totally understand what you were saying about olivieblake's writing style even though i've never read any of her published works because she used to write fanfiction and i was eating it up back then - her way with words is beautiful but i fear i am not the target audience because i'm just not smart enough and i get lost in the sauce yk... it was a fine line to walk. i still remember her name after all these years bc was obsessed with half her works but couldn't get through the other half and i just couldn't figure out where the difference lay. love hearing other people's perspective on her!! especially since i'm assuming you've never read her fanfics, it's cool seeing her through the lens of someone who discovered her after she became an established author!!
Some really great thoughts on the Ministry of Time! You touched on a lot of points that I struggled with in the book, I keot vacillating back and forth about what I thought about as well. One thing about the narrator was that I just couldn't believe/accept that she didn't have any questions about all the insane inconsistent sci-fi things happening around her. Thanks for your review!
When you talked about the very prominent brain scramble that can commence once you are processing/going through a gender journey, and you have to consider the other integral parts of yourself like autism as part of that journey, but not wanting to acknowledge that additional piece of your self so it can’t later backfire on you really resonated with me. Especially when you are already trying to give yourself room to discover and grow as a person then have society trying to box you in on top of that.
Opening TH-cam and seeing a new video from you made my day🎉 On a serious note, you are my favorite TH-camr because you give voice to feelings that are so hard to actually talk about especially regarding neurodivergeny. Keep going, rockstar❤
Ive been rewatching old videos of yours and the vueei where yiu force yourself out of that reading slump pushed me to grab a book and start making time for reading again!

You should def give it a try😮❤
hey lexi! dunno if youll see this but i used to be an avid reader when i was younger and then ✨trauma✨
Stumbled upon your channel a few months ago and its slowly reawakening my want to read again. i appreciate you
watching your videos is my favorite time of the month
I'd admired your deep understanding of every book that you read... your comprehension skill is amazing...i need to keep studying so that someday i will reach your level of proficiency
As a diagnosed adhd person whos also trans (which tbh I hate admitting, usually I just pretend to be my prefered gender on the internet but its relevant here) the last part of the video hit so hard. especially the "did my autism [for me adhd] cause my transness" and the part about not being able to talk about it because you dont want to give others ammunition.
anyways, even tho it might be second-hand from the book, still thanks for talking about it. imo thats a topic that really needs more discussion that doesnt immediately become fodder for anti queer groups.
the mariana zapata thing is so real i only read one of her books (from lukov with love) and it pissed me off because a slow burn doesn’t mean anything if there’s no tension or yearning… all slow no burn
all slow no burn is a fantastic way to put it
i love your channel because its so hard to find readers who have the same taste as me. especially the moment you started talking about the naturals, I literally said oh teenage criminal minds and then you got to describing sloan 💀💀💀
You are the only book TH-camr I feel I can trust when it comes to good/bad books and what/what not to read
totally understand what you were saying about olivieblake's writing style even though i've never read any of her published works because she used to write fanfiction and i was eating it up back then - her way with words is beautiful but i fear i am not the target audience because i'm just not smart enough and i get lost in the sauce yk... it was a fine line to walk. i still remember her name after all these years bc was obsessed with half her works but couldn't get through the other half and i just couldn't figure out where the difference lay. love hearing other people's perspective on her!! especially since i'm assuming you've never read her fanfics, it's cool seeing her through the lens of someone who discovered her after she became an established author!!
Lexi you kind of ruined me for other booktubers because they’re slow, i love your quick paced wittyness, sending you love
your videos are always the highlight of my day fr, i could listen to you talk abt books forever
The legend is back! I've just recently been rewatching all your videos and I've had withdrawals since I caught up
cooking dinner for the fam while listening to lexi is one of the pleasures of my life truly
Your analysis of Olivie Blake’s writing style is so SPOT on that I feel both seen and called out.
Yay! Been excited for this wrap up
the segue into the ad 🤌🏽
Opening TH-cam and seeing a new video from you made my day🎉
On a serious note, you are my favorite TH-camr because you give voice to feelings that are so hard to actually talk about especially regarding neurodivergeny. Keep going, rockstar❤
Lexi does it again - makes my TBR longer than it was before and I am forever thankful for that. Thank you, wise sensei.
Ive been rewatching old videos of yours and the vueei where yiu force yourself out of that reading slump pushed me to grab a book and start making time for reading again!
🫶 proud of you
17:30 - 17:50 i feel like you would like “how to end a love story”, it would probably be like a 3-4 star read for you; i just finished it for my book club
i just picked this up this month :)
I was rewatching your videos bc I have been waiting so desperately for a new one …there it is.
