Shame on the DUP and the Tories. We need a working government in Stormont as Northern Ireland can't get anything done and this has been going on for years it's not fair on the public. The DUP say they won't work because of the Northern Ireland protocol which is the same one they signed, they lost in the elections and their infulence over legislation is now severly diminished that's the reason they won't go to work so nothing can get passed they wouldn't agree to but couldn't vote down. As for the Tories they have the NHS right where they want it.

The British aversion to recognizing our English name, Ireland, mellowed somewhat as they now conceded to referring to our country as the ‘Republic of Ireland’ but only because they realized that other countries would recognize the name we chose for ourselves!
British underhand tactics continued as they enjoyed bastardising our name and trying to popularise the wrong one, referring to Ireland by names such as the Irish Republic and Southern Ireland. If all the older generation were able to receive care outside of EDs and hospitals in general, there would be way less blockages in the beds, more resources etc. For example, that elderly patient who fell. I feel like seeing as they are the 99.99% of people taking up the beds, more help should be provided to those caring for them and better training so that they’re not going to a&e for silly things. I ended up in hospital a week ago with an allergic reaction, taken in blue lights and sirens in an ambulance, and when I got to a&e I have to say maybe 15/20 people waiting in that area were elderly.

1.7 million people in Northern Ireland. There are 3.6 million in greatest Manchester. There is something fundamentally wrong going on here. The key to fixing this, is separating the over 65s into separate hospital facilities to allow them recovery, while the 500 beds at the main hospital get freed up.a 65 year old will take a lot longer to recover from a fall than a 30 year old from the same injury. Build a hospital facility specifically for the elderly.

Those who are fit to be discharged from hospital should be sent to care/nursing homes who have spare beds. So many managers, would be better using their resources to facilitate this with care providers, thus freeing up beds. Also closing a+e services in smaller local hospitals has contributed to these trolley waits. Bad management, throwing money at it , wasting money.

Many folks don't want to go to a care/nursing home, even temporarily. Many people want to go home but can't because they can't look after themselves properly. Imagine being this paranoid.
All G7 nations aren't having these same problems. They're having their own localised problems because we all went through the biggest shock to the global economy in recorded history. The G20 nations, which include the G7 are all struggling to keep their budgets from collapsing the country.
It's the economic blowback of keep their citizens from starving to death during the lockdowns. That wasn't free. It's bankrupted some countries, including the UK.
Let me say that again. The UK is bankrupt. A budget deficit of £500 Billion, with a B, per YEAR to pay for normal bills means the UK is bankrupt.
That's 7.69% of GDP in loans accumulating annually. Currency devaluation (inflation) means the interest alone on those loans has increased 35% and the government is only paying the interest right now.
There's all this talk about the NHS, but really it's not just the NHS on life support it's the entire UK economy.
That started in 2000 under Labour and no successive government from either side of the aisle has done anything about it. Indeed they've all just made the problem worse.
