It's funny how all the boots developed with the local Japanese teams lean into this Morelia/DS Light boot concept - Puma's King Mirai did the same. I really like getting more of these options on the European market now!
Man, I had a pair of all white Mirai and I loved them, I got them off of eBay for a good price! But the sole plate was slightly stiff but other than that it was a good boot
These are essentially a copy of the Morelia Neo with less durable calf leather and 3 stripes on the side. For ~200 USD +shipping. You can get Asics DS Lite X fly 5 with free shipping and have enough leftover to buy a large pizza and 10 wings. Kangaroo Leather is the most sustainable leather by far in soccer. I wish these European companies would stop this trend of moving away from k-Leather.
Would love a tech comparison video between all the Copa lines - Pure, Gloro, Icon, Mundial - just to see what makes them so different from each other apart from the price.
Not for me. The Morelia's leather is already really thin, so for this to be thinner means there's no padding. I want to move away from the barefoot feel, as I don't enjoy the stinging sensation from the ball, and literally every other boot I have is "barefoot", other than the Tiempo 9. Will be buying the Copa pure 3. Shame about that Ag plate though. Has anyone ever tried to use a Dremel tool to trim the studs down? @Jay how long is the length compared to the neo 4 Beta? I use those on a shallow AG pitch and I've had no issue with them
@educimadevilla none at all. The front had a small gap after one game, where the plastic meets the leather, but nothing more after that. Boot has been excellent in that regard
To be fair, the difference in thickness is almost negligible - but I just know that people love comparisons, so I wore both to REALLY feel closely which was slightly thinner and closer to the ball. We're talking margins in terms of the closeness of the touch for me - and it took me specifically looking for it to notice the difference. It's the perfect thickness for me, but each to their own of course and that's completely fair. In terms of the studs they're very similar. I haven't measured them but they actually feel pretty Neo-like. Again, they felt good to me on the modern, well-kept 4G pitches I've been on with the boots, but they're definitely too long still for older and worn down 4G or 3G pitches to me. I'd rather go Mizuno's AG or PUMA's MG there. /Jay
Jay, thanks for the video on the Copa Icon II, also, for being the only site to purchase these…that I’ve been able to find. My daughter has been using Copa Mundial for several years. She is pretty picky, and set on her trusty Copa Mundial…but in summer heat in Georgia (US) 95F*+, the black Mundials get hot. She also suffers from blisters when playing back to back weekend matches. I have been looking at switching to a white boot to see if that will help a bit. If I could get her to switch to grip socks like mine…that would help her…did I mention she can be picky? How would you compare the Copa Icon II vs the Copa Mundial? Same price range, but an updated boot. Thanks in advance!
Copa Icon 1 had good materials and construction, but it was so padded it fit like a sneaker pretending to be a boot. Still bemused that it passed QA at Adidas.
I have a question that maybe someone with inside info can tell me, why now have they only started caring about the other boots they make, and why are the pushing more boots to the predator cast/last after spending years just sticking the sprint frame onto these boots as an afterthought?
Imma miss the Icon, perfect for old timers. After 1000s of hacks, you really appreciate the padding. A bit different than being a shoe model I suppose…
damn adidas are really stepping up this year. upgrades everywhere and basically no misses. take notes, puma and nike. i wish my boot closet wasn't as full because the icon2 and pure3 both tempt me😅
Thats my "basic" main Adidas shoe model for anything.. whereas its for casual, street soccer, soccer in field or taekwondo PS: I dont run backwards, im on freedom, money, soccer, fun and family

why don't buy Morelia with K-keather with lower price🤣

the copa lineup with the gloro, icon, mundial and pure seems to offer very good alternatives to mizuno and fill the hole left by nike and puma.

and there is any sign of braking in the forefoot of the morelia?
@educimadevilla none at all. The front had a small gap after one game, where the plastic meets the leather, but nothing more after that. Boot has been excellent in that regard

Hi I don’t understand about sizing. Currently i run predator Elite ( no tongue ) in 9us, should I go half size down and take 8.5us?
Copa Icon 1 had good materials and construction, but it was so padded it fit like a sneaker pretending to be a boot. Still bemused that it passed QA at Adidas.
Will there be an SG-Alternative?
I currently own a pair of copa pure 2 elite kt, do they fit similar ?
Are these boots already out on the unisport store?
Yep: www.unisportstore.com/football-boots/1413-adidas-football-boots/?sort=latest-online
I am a size 44, should I take a size 43 1/3?
how durable will they be on artificial?
You having these over the legend 10 ag option?
I have a question that maybe someone with inside info can tell me, why now have they only started caring about the other boots they make, and why are the pushing more boots to the predator cast/last after spending years just sticking the sprint frame onto these boots as an afterthought?
Hello jay is that an ag pitch where u recorded the video?
I get a Copa pure 2 ag for 140€, should i keep it or buy this one?
Buy this one tbh. I much prefer it to the Copa Pure 2.
Feels like a cross between the Morelia neo 2 and..... a PathiqueX SL
That’s not a bad shout! /Jay
@@unisport Hi Jay, what is the sizing like?
Does this ship to the US
Is it okay in the rainy weather too?
Why doesn't Adidas release boots like Copa Icon and Copa Gloro in India 😭😭😭 ? I would love to wear an Adidas leather boot.

Slap some striking elements on the instep and add a fold over strapped tongue. There.... I fixed the modern Predator line. Your welcome @adidas
Do these feel like leather F50's from past?
New balance 442 or icon?👀
Icon, EASILY.
@@unisportif I wear a 26cm or 8.5 US for the f50 what size would u recommend? The f50 fits be just about perfect
