WIDER 150' Superyacht For Sale. Part 3 - The Completion

แชร์

  • เผยแพร่เมื่อ 18 ส.ค. 2024
  • Following the WIDER 150 from her conception through to her construction, and now her completion, has been a truly memorable experience. This is the third in a trilogy of documentary videos that follow Tilli Antonelli and his team of skilled engineers, as his innovative and daring idea developed from a sketch on a piece of paper to a finished product that almost brought the Monaco Yacht Show to a standstill as crowds of industry professionals flocked to view her.
    The attraction of the WIDER 150 goes far beyond her eye-catching Italian styling and sumptuously elegant interiors though; this is a yacht that offers solutions that are so ambitious they seem almost impossible. A motor yacht without an engine room, a 150' superyacht that contains a tender so big it would normally only be found on a 250' vessel, a craft that is so technologically advanced that she achieved the first and only ever 100/100 classification in RiNa's coveted Comfort Class.
    At the time this video was published "Genesi" is still available for sale, with many interested parties discussing her purchase. WIDER are taking orders for further models.

    Tilli the visionary..!! It all started a long time ago with a handful of friends on a sailboat... the Orca 43 feet. Later began the visions ... and Pershing was born..!! Everyone thought that was the best of him ... but Tilli the visionary had already mind and heart "wider" open on the next creation...

      I've been building yachts since the age of sixteen when I used to prefer helping the master shipwright building his Dragon in his workshop next to my house, than studying Latin and ancient Greek. I've been then surrounded throughout my life, by skilled and talented designers, boat builders and master shipwrights. I've seen a lot, learned a lot... but still at the very beginning in my view...

Fishman at dusk in painted wooden boats dead quiet at dusk. Sipping some local Gragnano and a fresh pizza from Puozzuoli, or some Pesce Spada , Frutti di Mare, arancini rice balls, procuitto e melons, calamari fritti. Pouzzuoli has some good trattorias to sit and eat with the colorful Napolotani. Sophia Loren Home is on the main narrow road. Pavarotti did a video in the cove in a wooden painted sailboat with view of Mt di Procida and maybe Ischia and Capri to the east. That’s my sons baby in the Image. @Yachtsforsaleblog  7 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      Thanks for your comment! The interior actually deserves a video of it's own...some of the features and materials are quite out of the ordinary. At 5:10 you get a good view of the main deck lounge; the back wall is made from melting steel over wood so that a metallic wood grain effect is achieved. This material is used in various parts of the yacht.
      Glad that you've been following the WIDER...remember: shares of the video on other social media sites are always appreciated. They're great for my view count and as a result my SEO benefits too!

    • @Yachtsforsaleblog
      @Yachtsforsaleblog  7 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      The range depends upon the speed. At 13 knots she has a range of about 2500 nautical miles, but if you want to use just the batteries and travel in zero emission mode then at 5 knots you can go for about 30 nm. Fine for travelling through the Galapagos Islands and enjoying the scenery!

One of the benefits is boarding the tender in a very controlled interior environment, inside the rear hull, when returning you can leave it out and use the pool, or raise the rear deck and drive right into the tender garage.

    • @Yachtsforsaleblog
      @Yachtsforsaleblog  7 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      Thanks for your comment. It's a real challenge to use diesel electric technology on a yacht of this size and also achieve a high speed. 15 knots is low, I agree, but still in line with many other displacement vessels...so within an acceptable parameter for many clients. I am sure that the engineering department at WIDER will be tuned in to new technologies to find ways to improve the performance as advancements are made.

    Not sure the Wider 32 is a good design. He seemed to be doing an inordinate amount of steering, left, left, right. And they weren't small movements of the wheel, they were multiple complete rotations. That's a lot of steering. On the plus side it does look pretty fast.

      That's how a boat of that size with that drive steers at slow speed if you're trying to hold a course.
      It can't be helped, especially if you want to store the thing in your swimming pool.

    I've see reports that yearly running coast of ships/boats are around 10% of the cost. This yacht, around $2,7 million.

    Where does the diesel generators exhaust exit?

    Just out of curiosity. What would be the cost of owning and maintaining such a boat every year (crew, docking, maintenance, etc)? And how big of a crew do you need to take you around the world?

      Running costs vary greatly according to where the yacht is kept, how many crew are on board, and the wage level of the crew. The WIDER 150 runs with a crew of 9, and quite honestly it is worth paying a premium for the very best crew since it enhances the enjoyment of the yacht so much. A ball park estimate of running costs would be between €1.5m and €2m per year. This would include everything from crew wages and insurance to fuel costs and cleaning products! Thanks for watching the video!

    Very nice concept, and with a very nice motor yacht. However, is it just a puddle jumper, or can it sustain itself in open sea's, like the Pacific, or the Atlantic ocean's? Does the ship have solar panels, or is it restricted to burning diesel fuel in its generator's? Anyway, what is the range of this motor yacht? A stunning yacht with a diesel powered system for electrical motor's isn't exactly brand new, since it was used to power submarine's for a long period of time, but it is brand new to motor yacht, and its sales. Nice yacht, like I said before in my comments, by why isn't their 100 of them built in one year, if its better than popcorn?

    Since its electric, i wonder what its top speed is.
    And because they dont show it in the ad or this vid, my guess is , its "not very fast"
    Nonetheless its a beautyful yacht.
    Lets see more/extended footage from the inside ;-p (i know, very difficult to get)
    Keep selling!

      Hey Catamaran Channel, great to hear from you and thanks for watching. The top speed of the WIDER 150 is about 15 knots, so not too bad but certainly not particularly fast either. Filming the interiors was not a problem, the shipyard were happy for me to film anything at all, but I wanted to focus on the story behind the yacht and the company as well as the power system. WIDER have a slightly larger model in construction at the moment, if I get to film it I'll include more footage of the cabins for sure.

    Actually, that is impressive. It'd be more impressive still if they could avoid a combustion engine at all...I suspect a LOT of owners would be happy about that

    the tender is kind of a mini me design, however a little disappointing i would have done a Sarenella Venetian taxi or a modern version of such, also no tour of the beach club pool or engine room?
