Zinogre is absolutely stunning in Iceborne, I really didn’t like him as much as other people did in the older games but they nailed him in Iceborne! They even changed my opinion on Nargacuga! Put a monster in Iceborne=makes it ten times better
Except for tigrex and to a lesser extent zinogre. Tigrex is drunk and slow, while zinogre is fundamentally different, and I dont know how to feel about him

I feel like they may have resized his back legs a little. That's always bothered me about Zinogre. The back legs were just so tiny, especially given how big his forelegs and torso area are.
Good to know I'm not the only one who calls him Thunder Puppy. He's just the best. And unlike some other monsters added in Icebourne *coughVelkhanacough* he's hard without being unfair.
Technically he's not a pup because he's not a fanged beast he's a fanged wyvern...that means he has cold blood and scales and lays eggs...that's so weird considering he looks like a mammal
The first time I saw this the monsters glitches and were invisible and when it ended there were no monsters in the guiding lands. I had to watch this from the main menu to see it for real.
Zinogre looks flipping gorgeous now you can see all the details on him that where strange pixels before, and his thunderbugs look kinda cute. Also the mole's in this map are also cute, especially the ones that are unique to each zone.

Haven't seen that one, the forest one from what I know is mossy with little butterflies flying around it, the wildspire looks like it's wearing a helmet but it could be it's hair. But from what I have heard the vale one can be described as baby nergigante. Curious to see what they do for the fire and ice one's when those maps are added in.
5:18 What I love about this cutscene is that it makes zinogre look like the gatekeeper of the Guiding Lands, like Cerberus is the gatekeeper to the Underworld. It's almost if Rathalos and Diablos are the souls of the damned trying to pull you to the dark while big Z there is keeping them in check so you can pass. He even gives you that look of: "Leave it to me. I'll show you how it's done" and frees the path for you. That's why he leaves the zone with the other two, cause his work is done and you're officially inside the "Grinding Lands", where your life changes forever, along with your soul
This vid's old but I gotta say it: You two need to see his "going to sleep" animation at some point if you haven't already. He *literally* just flops over and falls asleep on the spot. It's absolutely hilarious and adorable for such a large creature like him.

In my game, when the Zinogre intro video played... none of the monsters spawned in... none of them. And nothing was there when the cut scene ended.... To know what I saw, just imagine the cut scene... but with no large monsters and with the environment reacting as though there were.
I'm also still playing MH4U. I have beaten Gogmazios solo just once (48m30s, egad) but just having a second hunter on the team cuts the quest time down to a much more manageable 30m. Also, G-rank Expeditions count towards deciphering Aged Texts.
I had the glitched Zinogre cinematic in my game. Diablos, Rathalos and Zinogre were all invisible. Seeing my character being scared of P U R E V O I D was pretty funny

if they brought in deviants i'd be hype. Dead Eye Garuga, ThunderLord Zino, silverwind narga, Hellbalde Glav, Dread Rathian/Rathalos, Crystalbeard Uragaan and Bloodbath Diablos (all monsters whose defaults are in world at the moment)

Josh once mentioned a frog that carries its Young on its back in little back holes. Absolutely disgusting creature, but thats always been how I've explained Zinogres spikes and even his general bulk. His body has grown a form of bone like hive systems beneath his skin to house the Fulgurbugs and Thunderbugs he protects. His skin glows when the back hives are full as they're charging him up.
My favourite part of this whole thing is that when you see the Rathalos appear in the first cutscene it plays a small part of Roar of the Rathalos P.S. really wish Gold and Silver had Roar of the Rathalos as their theme

If I recall correctly, they were: Forest, jungle, forest ruins, jungle with vines, sandy cave, jungle, forest with ceiling, jungle with ruins, forest with streams, deep cave, forest ... Oh, and I forgot about the forest with ruined pillars.
