    Great review, you are very forgiving. I think it's disgusting that a tent of that price and type should leak at all. The design of the roof venting has caused issues on other Hillebergs. They are very strong tents but you shouldn't have to put up with the faults. I Hate Leaks!

    After I had my first tent , a 3 season Wild Country Mistrel flattened in the cairngorms in an 80mph storm, got the Tarra. It certainly could do with a vent on the porch as you say, the vestibule was usually soaking in the morning. Never had any l;ekage issues, but then I probbaly didnt camp in as extreme conditions as yourself. The tent can't really be used as a basecamp tent if it leaks as will be full of water when you get back.
    Seeing as other hillerg users with celing vents have leakage in high winds, glad that my latest tent is a tunnel the anjan 2, previous hillebrgs having bein the akto, nallo, nammatj, soulo and tarra.
    The akto also sufers from condenstion, but I found that it makes an excellent parachute if you let the wind shoot in the door as I found to my dismay during a 90mph storm.

    Hi Alistair, thanks for sharing the video. Regarding the double poles, have you ever head issues with pole chatter (poles rubbing and wear on each other)? Those little defects on the zips are annoying and not something one would expect for such a premium price. That said, I've had really good luck on my akto and nammat. Thanks again.

      I've had no problem with the poles rubbing or wear or any noise from them banging together.
      With Hilleberg tunnel tents trying to insert double poles into the pole sleaves was a little difficult but with the Tarra it's very easy.

    Interesting to hear that Hilleberg were not interested in your issues with the tent. It certainly is not good for a manufacturer of such high price tents.

      I find that weird. They are ALWAYS open to feedback and strongly encourage it. At least from my experience

  • @mikemorgan562

    Did you get any feedback from Hilleberg on the vent leak due to the zipper gap on both sides? I wonder if some type of epoxy could fix it.

    • @n9oqu
      @n9oqu 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      He camped in an area where super high winds are very frequent. Normally you would not even worry about the small holes. A patch of duct tape on both sides of the fabric would be a cheap and easy solution.

    • @Mudinyeri
      @Mudinyeri 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      @@n9oqu to be fair, people purchase the Tarra for exactly those conditions. These tents are eek-spensive and have a reputation of being absolutely bomb-proof. While I agree that a duct tape repair may have been expeditious while out in the wilderness, I'd want a fix from the manufacturer when I got home.

    • @supernoodles908

      Don't use super glue. It's brittle and well shatter the fabric over time. Use seam sealer. Something with a bit of flex
