Hey Tim! Have you ever considered doing a DIY repair series? I feel like that would be useful for people looking to learn more about how to do repairs around the house and it seems you know a lot about stuff like that.
I had this same water theft issue a few years ago with a neighbor, he hooked up to water supply just like your neighbor did. I was away with the Army at Camp Shelby for 45 days. I don't know how long he had it hooked up. I found it when I got home, so what I did was left it hooked up and turned on and just started pulling the hose through the chain link fence between our yards until I heard a crash from the neighbors house. I then went back into my kitchen where I can watch the yard. In about 5 minutes the neighbor came out and climbed over the fence and disconnected the hose, he then went into his house and started pulling the hose back into his house, I went back into the yard and stood on the hose, he came out to see why the hose was stuck, saw me and went back into his house. I then cut the hose and called the Police, he was charged with theft of services and paid a fine and had to reimburse me for the water used while I was away.
Yea, someone breaking onto your property is.... BREAKING ONTO YOUR PROPERTY! That is akin to burglary in my eyes. I can’t believe the police wouldn’t do anything, that’s shocking!
You probably need to file for a restraining order so that at least, the cops can do something next time. And given how absurd your neighbor is....there will be a next time.
The face that Tim gave Jen during her explanation on how to fit the drywall was hysterical!! I know that face all too well as I get that face when my hubby is fixing stuff around the house. :)
I have been watching your older videos. Right now I’m watching December 2013. In those videos you are just moving into your house. This video fits right in. Nice work!
I would call the water company and explain what happened. They might adjust your bill and base it off last year's usage considering you've reported the crime. My aunt had water running unintentionally last year when she was away (she lives in Florida too) and they adjusted her bill for her because she proved with repair bills that it was unintentional. It is worth a try and also you would be reporting him to the water company too. Good luck!

I agree! Older houses are a lot more work, I currently live in a house that was built in 1900 and boy it’s a doozy trying to keep up with repairs, and finding someone who is willing to work on the house when need be!

Tim and Jenn, I have over 30 years experience in drywall work. When you have to hang sheet rock along side of plaster, it is difficult because of just what you experienced, of the plaster cracking and falling off. But after seeing your first coat, it appears to be rather nice for someone that doesn't have the years of experience in it. Not bad. If I were local, I would have helped yall out. Trust me on this, I've done drywall work in my dreams over the years. LOL. Been at it way too long.

Neighbors can be so much fun. Once our neighbors, right behind our house, thought it was a good idea to dump ALL their lawn trimmings (grass, leaves, tree limbs, etc.) over our fence and behind our garage. Fun times.
Several of our neighbors have done that behind their storage shed into our pasture. It was out of their sight into our way! I hate neighbors like that. Then a rice "retired baseball player " hired someone to cut a ditch into our back pasture to run all his runoff water when it rained. It took out about quarter acre of land and we are still trying to get it filled back in, at our expense of course. And we are definitely not rich. Some people are just plain behind holes. Sorry for your problems. Now you know where to set up more cameras! You might even want to consider getting an outdoor aggressive dog for the backyard. They are good night watchmen. We use to raise German Shepherds when I was little. Sweet dogs with the family but not so friendly to intruders. Jenn I'm so glad you are better. I was worried about you. You both do a great job with the vlogs. I do miss them on posted but totally understand when you're sick, you got to get well. And thanks Tim for pitching in the first day for Jenn. Your drywall is looking great. I redid our half bath several years ago myself to save money. We were putting in a new kitchen floor and 2 walls of sheet rock due to water leaking under the floor. I watched the professionals doing the sheet rock then to save money did our half bath. It turned out good but I found out I really don't like doing it. Lol. I figured if I can decorate a cake I can tape and mud, sand and more mud and more sand. Finally got finished then painted walls. My son reattached the plumbing. It looks good and proud of it but not sure if I would take on any big projects. Lol. Your wall will look great when you're finished! I hope you get through this week before the humidity goes up with all the rain. Thanks for your vlogs.
Nice job on the drywall....get yourself a 6 and 12 inch wide knife. it makes the finishing job much easier. Also, when you are applying the mud, only smooth it a few times and then leave it alone. This will decrease your need to sand. Good Luck and thanks for sharing!

You can get locks for your outside faucets I think at Walmart my parents had to do that with their neighbor.

Your drywall is looking great. I redid our half bath several years ago myself to save money. We were putting in a new kitchen floor and 2 walls of sheet rock due to water leaking under the floor. I watched the professionals doing the sheet rock then to save money did our half bath. It turned out good but I found out I really don't like doing it. Lol. I figured if I can decorate a cake I can tape and mud, sand and more mud and more sand. Finally got finished then painted walls. My son reattached the plumbing. It looks good and proud of it but not sure if I would take on any big projects. Lol.
Your wall will look great when you're finished! I hope you get through this week before the humidity goes up with all the rain.

Nice job on the drywall....get yourself a 6 and 12 inch wide knife. it makes the finishing job much easier. Also, when you are applying the mud, only smooth it a few times and then leave it alone. This will decrease your need to sand. Good Luck and thanks for sharing!
