Briliant rail movie! Awesome images with passenger trains, great engines sound and fantastic landscapes and places! Good work, master! Thumbs Up Greetings from Romania Andrew
3:11 Wow, Engine 42 (probably all the engines too) seems to travel a lot. I've seen a video of it in San Diego, now it's here, and I also saw it for myself on the eastbound Cardinal at Washington DC (July 3, 2015)!
A very savvy video production . It must have taken you several weeks to shoot all of the individual trains. To me, it appeared the Amtrak equipment was a blend of brand new, and not so much. That being stated, and because of the more moderate climate, the power units and the coaches seem to either be in better condition, or hold up longer, than those from the more varied climates, such as in the Eastern corridor.
Thank you, Timothy. This Amtrak service runs relatively frequently, so I probably spent a couple days worth of time over the last couple years filming it. The locomotives are currently going through a rebuild program, which is why several of them look newer. Service on this line has expanded since introduction and they haven't acquired any new passenger cars yet, so they borrow a few from the general Amtrak pool of equipment to fill in any gaps in the service.
still are just not all the time I believe, I've seen then a few times. As a matter of fact I saw them twice last year and I know they run a bit here and there.
@BNSFmodelrailroad, unfortunately as of 2020, 2052 has been retired, and 2051 is working as a yard switcher. 2052 is retired due to a broken generator
11:27 Mount Soledad! Here he is!
You really do a great job on your videos! Thank you for being out there for those of us who can't get to the rails to watch for a variety of reasons.
+Robert Wheeler No problem! Thank you for watching, I'm glad you enjoy them.

+Max Buskirk It travels pretty much everywhere on the Amtrak system. I think it's been on just about every train now.
That horn sound at 4:04 is 👌 🔈🔈
Fun Fact: The California Cars were also used on The Amtrak San Diegans from 1996 to 2000.
11:27 - 11:31 That P5 simply puts every other horn in this video to shame. They should give all the Cab Cars P5s like that!
👍
Sounds like a metra cab car with a p5
This is better than any Metra P5, though.
@@superbaddy4 yea you are right, all metra P5 suck anyways and this only Amtrak cab car has the best one.
I love this channel fav TH-camr
Excellent video, I want to ride Amtrak someday.

Great video, like the amtrak cal livery especially with new locos as same height as the coaches and the livery lines up nicely

Hey Mike did you see cdtx #2007's OLS wrap?
Unfortunately, I did not.
Do they *ONLY* have the train horn on the cab cars and *NOT* the engine?
I remember when 2051 and 2052 where in service.

Hello Amtrack California
How do you stop the doors from ding8ng every three seconds. it can be annoying and other trains dont have it
Mike urgent question ive been trying to figure this out but do you have any idea which bells on 8312s horn sound
The ones that sound are the 1, 3A, 4A and 5. The 2 is silent.
thank you very much mike for the
information
also do you know the bells on 8314's horn that sound because it seems like over the years the bells have went silent
Dose the San jouquin or capital corridor still use the g-e dash-8
Armored Fishy no they don’t only F40PH, F59PHI, P42s and SC-44
