Fires are no joke. They look easy to control and put out but they are not. I'm no fireman, but in the Army they gave us a similar demonstration and I learned first hand that fires are very difficult to put out once they spread.
But Flash overs are the easiest to recognize and avoid. It's not like you will ever be surprised by a flash over and have no clue it was coming. In regard to the human life aspect flash overs are the safest and least likely to cause death in residential homes(several floor buildings on the other hand are another story), by the time conditions are right to cause a flash over nobody will be in that room, at least not conscious anyway(but those people are already doomed, the flash over isn't to blame for their death). They are the most dangerous in multi-floor and office building. If you are on floor 5 or 6 and a couple flash overs happen in a couple rooms on floor 1 or 2.... You are in some very serious trouble. Not just from the fire obviously but the chances of a floor collapse triples. Flash overs in small indoor concert venues are absolutely terrifying, even if only 1 floor. Fire and panic do not mix well with one another but panic and flash overs is heII on Earth.
When he got done spraying the flames, he went back to watering the garden... And where do I pick up one of those systems that puts the fire out without spraying everything with water? That was badass
Doesn’t it change the dynamics and fire behavior when you remove one of the walls? Yes I know it gives the fire more oxygen, but it also lets a lot of heat, smoke, and gases escape that would normally be trapped in the room.
Now if all the walls were closed in imagine how explosive that room would be, this is why firefighters do ventilation (cutting holes in the roof, breaking windows, etc to help relieve that pressure
Time this. How long did the first chair take to become fully involved? Then time how long the second chair took. That is an indication of just how hot it was. Remember that it was open fronted. Had all that heat and fire gas been contained it would have been horrendous. Consider also the very low fire loading in the compartment two chairs and a few items look around your own front room and consider the fire load in there

Hi, My name is Kai Xiao and I am a student researching fire detection based on object detection algorithms. Specifically, I am working on a project that involves detecting fires from video footage. To train my model, I need a large amount of fire data. May I have your permission to use your videos as part of my training data? Thank you very much! Best regards, Kai Xiao
Polyurethane and polyester on the modern upholstery due to their hydrocarbon chemistry become the accelerant to create the hazardous and potentially lethal flashover
Instead of wasting time Playing Flashover games, how about showing people how to apply water Intelligently to eliminate the threat and avoid Flashovers? There sure is a lot of Playing in America's Fire Disservice!
Wow dude take a chill pill nothing wrong with a demonstration because from that demonstration you can move on to fire attack you sound like an idiot making dumb comments about playing games

It seems the best way to plan and prepare for fire is to build 2 rooms exactly alike. From the looks of it that 2nd room was completely untouched.
@@bennywhite7062 You should always have a backup house, just in case!
4:40 the second coutch take on fire alone in a second, so much heat to do that
I use to be a vol. FF/EMT. Flash overs happen in seconds and are very dangerous.

They use test fire for these demonstrations. The real stuff too dangerous.
When the smoke was going up the top of the roof it was so satisfying
That is scary how fast the whole room was engulfed
Doesn’t it change the dynamics and fire behavior when you remove one of the walls? Yes I know it gives the fire more oxygen, but it also lets a lot of heat, smoke, and gases escape that would normally be trapped in the room.

@@StormHunter71 exactly,
I gotta admit, I was a little disappointed in that hose the fireman used. Kinda like seeing a gourmet chef using a microwave.
@@bennywhite7062 Agreed...
WOW! That's INSANE! I'm buying a fire extinguisher for my garage.

Space heaters is a fire hazard because it can and will cause a fire if something flammable is too close to it.
Hahaha the price is right fire addition
The three people who disliked got burned
No they didn’t, they got injured in a car accident later that day.
moral of the story is, buy metal chairs
Hit it with THE GREEN LINE Brotherrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!

Once the smoke at the ceiling lights up it starts grilling the entire room!

It would have been helpful to not have the beeping smoke detector so you could hear what the guy was saying

No joke they are in a forest
so scary
Those folks laughing and giggling are fools.
Thats upper middle class for you
no accelerant my ass. You can see it clearly in the seat of the chair.
it's the material the chair is made of. petroleum-based foams burn very hot and fast.
Polyurethane and polyester on the modern upholstery due to their hydrocarbon chemistry become the accelerant to create the hazardous and potentially lethal flashover
Furniture foam is all you need. Firefighters call it "solid gasoline" because it readily transforms into highly flammable gas when heated.

It’s simply training on how flash overs work. When you learn how they work you obviously learn how to prevent or stop it...
