Wow, a game where you do endless menial work in order to buy your ungrateful nephews a playground. If this doesn't prepare children for real life, nothing will.
Quite a different world now, you don't get to just move a cartoon character across a screen to make money, you can't make money either without getting joint and back pain or dealing with assholes, you can't make $2 in just three minutes, you can't buy a tire swing for 26 cents, and you're "overqualified" so you never get a chance to try it anyway At least they did something about the trains. Those were dangerous.
Mitt Romney bought AmQuack and fired everyone, that's why toy stores don't need a sliding door to hold everything in place, and 10% of the profits went to those "And I'm a Mormon" ads on TH-cam that nobody sees due to Adblock
Oh the memories. Me and my friend used to sing the theme song when we met at the streets. Every time! We both played the game on C64 and we were both "part time musicians" . We just sang this song as loud as we could! No words naturally just the humminm. Many people thought we were crazy but we were just remembering our childhood 😍 and the best part was that the first time we realized that we had played the same game we were both so happy abd nostalgic 😊
I used to play this one when I was 10 or so. Its such a cute game with good design for its time. Still humming the tune to this day. I would thank Al Lowe for this gem (and Larry ofcourse) if I could get the chance. :)
Donald makes close to 50 dollars for hour doing these odd jobs. Average salary in US at 1950s was about two dollars per hour. That means Donald has ludicrously good salary, but it can be expected from world-famous film star.
I played this in the computer labs on the c64s in grade school all the time. The teacher didn't want us doing the train game because it was too complicated.
A quite special game. It looked good for the time it was released (1983 or 84 I think?) but I didn't play it for long. It felt more like educational work for children but not like a real game. The big Disney figures like Donald, Micky Mouse or Goofy looked quite impressive back then in the cutscenes but the gameplay parts weren't that impressive. Music was bad I think. I had this on a 90 Minute Tape full with games from that time when I got my first C64 with Datasette years later. I found this game by loading through the tape which had many games on it. Fun Fact: Al Lowe who later created the Leisure Suit Larry-series invented and programmed Donal Duck's Playground.
Was a great fun game at the time! Only sound i got annoyed by sometimes was the train moving over the rails as a switch operator in this game. Most money was easily made at the airport cargo job though ^^
This is a great game. It teaches kids that toys cost money and in order to buy the things you want, you have to earn it doing work for others to make enough money. I learned how to count money with this game when i was 3-4 years old. Such a great learning game for kids i wish my kids had the same opportunity to learn from this as i did. Games now are a joke compared to ones like this from my chuldhood
Created and music by Al Lowe... where have I heard that name? :D Anyhow, we played this game a lot when I was a kid. As an adult now I see how it helped with basic calculus (money amounts), motor skills, cognitive skills, basic alphabet... all with soothing soundtrack. Classic Disney.
I remember we tried to cheat the system, and we were working in the toy store and when it said the express was passing we wanted to go out and actually see the train passing. Never happened :D
As a child, all I wanted to do was go to the vegetable truck job and deliberately get the wrong one just to listen to Donald get mad
Probably cussing
As a grown up I still do this ;-)
Me too
This was one of e computer games my elementary school had. The fruit tossing game was my favorite as well.
me too 😂😂😂

Dude...Dude! DUDE! THE AMQUACK SPECIAL IS COMING!
I was way too stressed about this as a kid. Some things never change. :P
Me too! xD
Love it when Donald yells at you for not catching the fruit!
I loved this game as a kid, it actually helped me learn the value of hard work and making money.
Living Glass of Water That Loves Shitposting when games was educational 😊 Good for you.
Kek.

This was a fun game. Too bad it had no real ending
Who else had a PTSD panic attack then he didn’t get the door closed in time in the toy store.
The graphics and sounds are rather simple, but this is kind of cute!
Lol, when my friend showed me this game when we were kids, I thought this was the most amazing game I've seen.
I used to play this one when I was 10 or so. Its such a cute game with good design for its time. Still humming the tune to this day. I would thank Al Lowe for this gem (and Larry ofcourse) if I could get the chance. :)
It's amazing how Al Lowe made one of the very first video games I played on a Commodore 64 and he went on to make one of my favorite franchise later.
It's already like 30 years and yet you remember this like its yesterday, brains are weiird...
I remember when my sister, brother and I played this game as children thinking it was such a great example of how money was earned.

My first real game ever, really beautiful game :)
Ahhhh I want to play this game again!
Donald makes close to 50 dollars for hour doing these odd jobs. Average salary in US at 1950s was about two dollars per hour. That means Donald has ludicrously good salary, but it can be expected from world-famous film star.
I still laugh at Donald Ducks quacking at the vegetable sorting job (ie. 9:18)...I used to deliberately play this game just to hear at as a child.
Wow. This took me back.
brings back memories, thanks
My first videogame ever :)
Oh mein Gott!!! Ich habe das als Kind geliebt 💟
I remember loving this as a kid. After watching it nowadays for undiscontinued 15 minutes: I feel braindead.
btw. the airport codes are all existing in the USA... some are obscore like Little Rock (Lit) or Martha's Vineyard (MVY), but they are all ICAO codes.
Sadly this is the remake we all want, and no one will give us.
My reaction to this painful truth: 9:19
I played this in the computer labs on the c64s in grade school all the time. The teacher didn't want us doing the train game because it was too complicated.
This game was so much fun!!!!
I loved this game as a kid. Had no idea that it's supposed to be educational though.:D
