  • While the rest of the country moves back to some normality, two mums will be doing it tough for longer. Mum of five Nikki Stokes’ eight-year-old twins both live with disabilities that make them more vulnerable to infection. Keeping a tight bubble for as long as possible is vital, but the twins need care around the clock - and without the respite of school or support workers, the family must find a way to cope. Bronie Markey is at home with her two young boys who live with Fragile X. The boys have behavioural and developmental delays and usually benefit from the routine of school and support. To add to the pressure, the family’s home build has been put on hold - leaving them living out lockdown in a one-room shed.
