You are incorrect about sentry mode not notifying you. My car immediately notifies me on my phone and my watch that something has either come near my car or has touched my car so you don’t have to have another app for that.
Only if they try to open the door, or they hit the car or something and the alarm goes off... It's right there in the manual.
Also, it's only available on iPhone. Android doesn't even have access to previews yet, though the line is in the app menu.

Not having retrofit options in any capacity, really goes against Tesla's sustainability mission...

It’s this clown’s constant lie.
Wrapping a cybertruck should be a piece of cake, with all the flat surfaces. No wonder it's free.
If standard trims announced before a significant number of Launch were delivered, a ton of people would cancel their Launch orders and reorder. Our best hope right now is that "Shipping in March" means very early March, they can hit 70-80% delivered within 4-6 weeks, and then announce standard trims that start shipping in 2-4wk. So the most optimistic guess is Mid-April standard trims announced, delivering in May.
The problem with wireless workarounds with CarPlay is that they interfere with the native functionality of the microphone. For example, while streaming the Apple Carplay to the browser using the wireless / Bluetooth connection on the phone, one cannot press the microphone button and ask the car to “Open the Glovebox” or anything else. For this reason, all these workarounds for CarPlay are really a non starter for me. The microphone is a safety feature so that I don’t need to look away from the road to perform simple operations on the car. Not a good trade off in my opinion

I have never understood why someone thinks they need CarPlay in a Tesla.
I want it to be able to open my garage door without buying subscription services.
I’ve already linked my opener to HomeKit and I have to fiddle with my phone every time I need to operate the door.

They should lower the price of self driving or give it for free for non Hardware 4 vehicles 👀
It's the other way around. For HW3 vehicles they are making a replacement computer and will install it free (and maybe with new cameras) to people who already bought FSD for $12,000 or $8,000 or whatever the price was, so their FSD works.

I would wait. They always say not to buy the first year of a new generation. Let them work out any issues.

I would like a "Travel mode". For example: I am going away on a trip for 3 weeks. I can set to "Travel mode" and it turns off and warns you of the features it is disabling i.e. Sentry Mode etc.

I didn't like the Carlink device and man o man did they make my return of the device hard!! They even told me to lie about the value of the device so that they could avoid the customs tax on it. Very very bad customer support.
My 1-year-old Tesla is so old!!!!!!!!!! So Elon abandoned it.
I see the main issue with Apple Car Play being that it removes the ability to navigate on FSD. Many of the other CarPlay apps Tesla is integrating into this software. CarPlay will never be on a Tesla in my opinion it’s contrary to Elon’s vision of his cars.
so is the waze or other nav systems that are featured in carplay linked to fsd routes? and are features like warnings built into these apps linked to fsd?

Starting not to trust Tesla. People spent lots of money on their products and they seem to be turning their back on the older models. Give us a good value on trade ins instead of a deflated value, and we could upgrade. The value on these vehicles drop fast compared to what we pay!

If you paid for FSD you get the hardware if you did not pay then your car will still operate as it has and as always all cars get software updates. Most other car manufacturers make you pay to upgrade anything. Carplay is soooooo overrated, I have used both and prefer Teslas own software. IMHO
Will see I have early 2023 Model Y that has hardware 3 and bought FSD before price got lowered and missed Tax credits by 2 weeks grumpy sad 😢

I don't think it's that complicated. If Tesla is offering discounts, it because they have too much inventory. I have a 2018 and am just about ready to upgrade.. but Elon's shenanigans have put a target on every Tesla on the road. I can't get another Tesla right now.
