I love the island progression in this game. The difficulty ramps up with each island providing a different challenge and trying to teach the player how to be efficient and clever.
I know that there are problems with this game but I absolutely love playing it and I find it so immersive. I know that there are things that need to be corrected and changed but for the amount of development time Frontier had I think that it's a good damn game.
Nothings more immersive then a struthiomimus bashing down a concrete wall (this is still my favorite park management game, but there is a lot of dumb stuff in this game)
Another thing I didn't figure out till the 3rd island (I'm dumb btw) was my facilities rating was low and my guests were unhappy with food/drink/entertainment even though I had plenty of food/clothes shops near hotels and frankly everywhere. The problem was I never increased the amount of workers in the shops so all my stores had max occupancy meaning no other people could really enter them. Imagine it like a 4 hour wait time at a Disney land restaurant. So once I figured out I had to up my shop workers my problem was fixed. Maybe this will help someone. But like I said I was dumb and shoulda figured it out earlier lol
MrXtravagantx I believe the number of Employees also works as a multiplier, so, though your income is slightly degraded by more hires, you’re getting more transactions/minute.
I still haven’t done none of that and on 3 of my islands people are still happy with everything? I just started Pena and i did things completely different than this guy and it’s doing alright I’ll have to check when I get off work lol.
The main thing on Pena is space and power. Solve that by using a single Hammond lab (had mine up top next to the entrance). That was my only HL on the whole island and whenever I was making a new dino, before releasing it, I would hop into my ACU, pilot it right next to the 5mx5m fence I and around HL, hop out, release the dino, hop back in and tranq it. Then transport the dino to whatever paddock I wanted. That way, I was using 16 power for it( base 10 + 6power for upgrades) and very little space. In total, I had 3 medium power station, 1HL, 2 Hotels, 1 TREX paddock, one paddock with 4 raptors and 2 metri, one paddock with herbivores, one paddock with Giga and Dianocus (i think) and one with 2 ceratosaurs and 3 dianicus. All paddocks had viewing galleries and towers and my Trex paddock had double fence (used to be an Indomus there, but I believe it has a thing where it will attack fences just for lolz and I got tired of it breaking the fence, so sold it and Rexy was quite happy there), a monorail and a bunch of shops. Pena was quite fun
Instead of all that work, I just built a fence around the HL so every dinosaur I needed to transport would be boxed in and unable to harm the main exhibit dinosaurs. Then I'd delete the fence after. Rinse and repeat as needed.
I just found out that monorails don’t need a loop to work, thanks for that. I am now internally yelling at myself for that. This will save so much space and money.
One time my rangers went into my t-rex enclosure to feed it and the T-Rex was right next to the gate and the T-Rex was just watching them come in and go to its feeder and the T-Rex watch them for a minute then turn around to drink water did nothing to the rangers but watch and I said to myself "That's really good boy!!"
I actually managed to get a 5 star facility rating without the use of the monorail on Isla Pena. I was surprised since the transportation rating is still at 0%. All I did was build everything a guest could want (Hotel, fast food, clothing shop, restroom) in the area with the starting pen and even managed to squeeze in a Dilo exhibit which ended up bringing the overall rating to 2.5 stars. I was impressed with myself managing to do that, but it completely filled up that tiny area, this video really helped to get better at maximizing the space. Cheers to you BestInSlot.
Huge help! My instincts have been good but I didn't realize some of the small things you mention which will be enormously helpful for me like deleting the paths once your monorail is in. Herbivores are definetly the way to go. I filled my starting pen up with them and it helped a ton, never had a single problem with them. Only add carnivores if they're mission essential. Other than that just pray you don't have too many twisters.

That screwed me over so bad when I first tried playing. Even with a ranger station the storm would bust everything and my dinos would all be running loose. It was a horrible nightmare... Thankfully Im halfway in unlocking everything you can get from that island.
@@xBloodxFangx and specially when the ranger teams station looses power in a middle of a storm chaos you're pretty much screwed since you'll be needing a ranger team for the power station repair and the ranger team is offline.
My strategy for five starring the islands is to do what you can to get 3 stars and to beat the division missions, and then later on when you have basically everything unlocked, (apart from the 5 star awards) go to the island you want to get 5 stars on and level the entire thing. Sell your dinos, buildings, everything. And then build your park to specifically meet the needs of guests until you reach a solid 5 star rating. (Opening management views on shops really helps when trying to tinker with the prices and workers when you want to boost your facility rating)
This is definitely how the game is designed. Otherwise, things like your fossil collection would be island specific. I feel the same way about going back to handle the upgrades! First thing, for me, is to reduce the amount of power stations. I love that fly-in shot when you switch islands, too, and creating the monorail loop on Peña is always fun!

Love the video only thing I did different and I strongly suggest others do is delete that long path and place a hotel at each side of that really thin area. You can fit two hotels and if you place it right you can save yourself a lot of room. I fit 5 decent size enclosures on this island using this method.
I unlocked the large power station before I unlocked Pena. You won't if you rush through and just 3 star the other parks without completing the objectives. The monorail doesn't have to be by the entrance it just needs power so it can be transferred through the track itself. That's why you can delete the roads once you got it built. A real space saver on any island.
On my second play through of the game I took my time playing and doing all the missions and objectives on each island before moving on. I had the large power station unlocked before I made it to Isla Tacano. Yes, you unlock it through a security mission, but it can be done before Isla Pena. I have not even played Pena yet on my second play through. I can easily make a video showing it unlocked before touching isla Pena.

Casualgames23 you can't, I've 100% muerta, matenceros and Tacarno ( five stared and all missions) and I don't have a large power station, either you've hacked the gamed or you're lying.
Why would I need to lie about this? It serves no purpose. You can too unlock the large power station before getting to Isla Pena. There is no way to hack this game.
I watched this video about a year ago, but I've only recently started playing JWE again. I had to watch this video again to freshen up my mind on the game. this video helped me out loads, again.
Aside from being a great guide to five-starring Facility on Isla Pena, there are some great little pro tips on here as well. Love the bit about manually repairing fences damaged by storm, provided no dinosaur is in the way. The reminder about one way monorails replacing patching is awesome, too. Thanks!

I really enjoyed the challenge of Pena, I found it easier to 5* than I suspected. I’m actually struggling with Tacano and Sorna for some odd reason. It’s really bugging me I’ve 5* the other two and can’t manage Tac and sorn. Edit: ‘All right Claire...’ *inhales* continues on. The cadence of your voice. That was perfect. I too am done with all their silly little comments xD.
I did it similar to yours but I made the mistake of making it “danger” island. I had as many carnivores as I could fit in and couldn’t handle the storms 🤦🏽♂️ it was fun though
I succeeded at this island by inadvertently creating a death arena 😂 I had carnivores and herbivores in one enclosure together and the carnivores killing the herbivores quickly increased the star rating of the island.
You can also put 3 in the same enclosure. That's what I did for this island. I dropped three of them in that first enclosure. There my go to medium sized meateaters.
Everytime i try this way and finish doing everything you did, a storm decides to appear, and at that time I don't have enough for shelters, an acu helipad and ranger station, I have enough for one of these but not the rest. everytime without fail it happens.
I know a way to prevent breakouts during a storm, first, build an ACU Center, this is so you can sedate your carnivores, second, build an Storm Defense Station, this is so you can be warned of a storm ahead of time, third, when a storm comes, sedate the carnivores, fourth, check the map to see if there is a twister so you know where it is and what direction it’s going in, and lastly, be ready to replace damaged fences and repair damaged buildings and substations.
With this building tips you can actually just focus on dinosaur tbh, to 5 stars this island you just need 1 hotel, 1 shop, 1 restaurants, 1 arcade buildings, using the monorail instead paths is a good tips, then just do 3 enclosure and oyu good to g3 1 enclosure : rex between 350-400 score 2nd enclosure : Deinonychus x4 (around 120 score) & one Metriacanthosaurus (between 220 & 250 score) 3nd enclosure: all you want here is a lot of variety, so i used Taurosorus x2, Chungkingosaurus x2, Styracosaurus x2, Kentrosaurus x3, Diplodocus x1, Triceratops x1 ( modify all theese as much as possible but with a rate of 39% succes and 3x 2.0 succes incubation in your labs you should be good to go) and that's it with all theese dino and listed buildings you got your 5 stars Pena with a lot of rooms yet available.
Well, beelining large power stations is a definite must, the usual safe set up which was more than enough for my island was two sets of large power stations with 1 lvl3 output, 2 lvl2 outputs, 1 lvl3 outage protection and last one being any lvl upkeep reduction. Doing 2 lvl3 and 1 lvl1 output also produces the same power output. Place one of the power stations near the entrance as you need the other side of the road for the monorail station. Then place the other one near the expedition center. You will need to replace the fossil center for a more efficient use of space. Also try limiting the number of hatcheries to 2 - 3. Also with luck, usually your first dinosaur is a grantee so i got a heavily modified trex at like -20 ish viablity (without hatchery improvements) as the first dino. With this I had 3 trex sized paddocks at the end of the island and one large one at the center full of sauropods and got 5 stars.
What you do is make big money dinos (Tyrannosaurus, Indominus, brachiosaurus, etc.) And build an emergency shelter wherever there are buildings. Whenever a storm warning appears, immediately engage a simple Two-Step Plan: 1. Open Shelters 2. Tranquilize the dinos that freak out easily. (Velociraptor, Indominus, etc.) It's uphill from there.
Amusingly enough, the fact that Pena is so dark gets to me much more than the size. The lack of space is just an organization issue, but with it being so dark I can't see a bloody thing. Really fun when a twister just destroyed half my fences and dinos are running around everywhere. I just researched all the Pena items available and I'm about to restart the island, which will be nice because I won't need a Research building. These tips will hopefully make my second stab at Pena significantly less frustrating than my first. Thanks so much, BIS!
I just had my Muerta Park absolutely obliterated by that security mission because I moved my permanently agitated raptor in with my others and the whole raptor pack escaped, in the middle of a storm, with power knocked out, while I was tranquilizing Styracosauruses.
Arne Løvdal I was doing the science mission and my terminator raptor escaped right as the mission started during a storm. I didn’t even have ACU. I..... restarted
AquaJetGaming that mission sucked I gave the annoying ass mission raptor who I named Vince a friend named Vicky but they escaped so I just put a million fences around Vince and sold him when I was done with the mission

By the time I got here I still didn't have the restaurant. Using the Fast Food joint as a replacement still maxed out the facility to 5 stars, so all still good.
Getting five stars is pretty easy on this island. I managed to complete it within a few hours. - The brutal tornado that tears through the island and fucks up your fencing is probably the bigger challenge. I dedicated the most northern section part of the island to my dinosaurs so and fenced it right to the edges, leaving them with little room to escape. Replace the concrete with electric concrete fencing once you are rewarded with it and make sure to have multiple fences in the more open areas. - Limit the carnivore dinosaurs you incubate and release. AVOID smaller carnivores that have high social needs. I had one T-Rex and it was easy to tranquillise him before a storm hit. - Also AVOID dinosaurs with low population tolerance. When the dinos get agitated during a storm they will destroy your concrete fencing and once they break into the next pen its population bar will blow up. - You only need one hotel on the island. Try and cram all the guest facilities into the medium sized western section of the island, and only have the basics on the northern fenced section for the viewing galleries. I managed to get a five star rating with only a 30% visibility rating. - Start by prioritising your security reputation. It has the better rewards. - You will not make much profit on this island due to the limited guest facilities. Try and keep things minimal.
I just finished the monorail and cluster of stores near the hotel, then a tornado came by and knocked out my power. I don't have a Ranger Station to fix it. RIP Pena 2020
I've tested it out, Dinosaur Visibility is actually important. The higher the Dinosaur Visibility, the more people will use the nearby Guest Facilities, which will thus increase Facility Rating.
Don't place raptors or dinos with high social needs on this island. It's best to have one higher rating, low social needs dinosaur like the T-Rex that you can easily tranq before a storm.
2 hotels, couple of fast food restaurants, maybe a fast food shop, cloths shop, couple of herbivores and 2-3 ceratasauruses (horned bois) did it for me, try it and if not ill try and help mate
Marius Karlsen maybe it’s because your guests wanted your food or fun or shops in certain places. I had trouble with Isla Muerta. All about Placement and needs for the guests.

Tip: when there is a storm approaching try to tranquilize as much carnivores as you can, so they can't break out, you just have to transport them somewhere else in their enclosure otherwise they won't wake up.
I think I'm starting to get the ball rolling but I think I should have watched ur video fully first 😂 I did use a Gally, Struthiomimus, and Polacanthus for my first dinosaurs. I'll probably go back and change a couple things tho lol. Thanks!

DavidB2001 They got most of the fundamentals down. They just need to work on the fluff like some stats and add more varied animations.

Large power station is the last security mission on Isla Pena, I think you mean medium.
Indominus just hates tight corners.. make sure it has enough space all around it and it should be fine... unless you had aggresive mod on it

Sell your dinos, buildings, everything. And then build your park to specifically meet the needs of guests until you reach a solid 5 star rating. (Opening management views on shops really helps when trying to tinker with the prices and workers when you want to boost your facility rating)
P.S. I’m pretty sure it’s not very efficient but it is kinda fun building your park over again but with less money restrictions.
This is definitely how the game is designed. Otherwise, things like your fossil collection would be island specific. I feel the same way about going back to handle the upgrades! First thing, for me, is to reduce the amount of power stations. I love that fly-in shot when you switch islands, too, and creating the monorail loop on Peña is always fun!

Love the video only thing I did different and I strongly suggest others do is delete that long path and place a hotel at each side of that really thin area. You can fit two hotels and if you place it right you can save yourself a lot of room. I fit 5 decent size enclosures on this island using this method.
I unlocked the large power station before I unlocked Pena. You won't if you rush through and just 3 star the other parks without completing the objectives. The monorail doesn't have to be by the entrance it just needs power so it can be transferred through the track itself. That's why you can delete the roads once you got it built. A real space saver on any island.
How exactly did you unlock the large power station before Pena? It's unlocked on Pena through a security mission.
On my second play through of the game I took my time playing and doing all the missions and objectives on each island before moving on. I had the large power station unlocked before I made it to Isla Tacano. Yes, you unlock it through a security mission, but it can be done before Isla Pena. I have not even played Pena yet on my second play through. I can easily make a video showing it unlocked before touching isla Pena.

Casualgames23 you can't, I've 100% muerta, matenceros and Tacarno ( five stared and all missions) and I don't have a large power station, either you've hacked the gamed or you're lying.
Why would I need to lie about this? It serves no purpose. You can too unlock the large power station before getting to Isla Pena. There is no way to hack this game.

I really enjoyed the challenge of Pena, I found it easier to 5* than I suspected. I’m actually struggling with Tacano and Sorna for some odd reason. It’s really bugging me I’ve 5* the other two and can’t manage Tac and sorn.

I did it similar to yours but I made the mistake of making it “danger” island. I had as many carnivores as I could fit in and couldn’t handle the storms 🤦🏽♂️ it was fun though
I succeeded at this island by inadvertently creating a death arena 😂 I had carnivores and herbivores in one enclosure together and the carnivores killing the herbivores quickly increased the star rating of the island.
Tip: ceratasaurus has a pretty good rating and doesn’t break out during a ⛈

Everytime i try this way and finish doing everything you did, a storm decides to appear, and at that time I don't have enough for shelters, an acu helipad and ranger station, I have enough for one of these but not the rest. everytime without fail it happens.
I know a way to prevent breakouts during a storm, first, build an ACU Center, this is so you can sedate your carnivores, second, build an Storm Defense Station, this is so you can be warned of a storm ahead of time, third, when a storm comes, sedate the carnivores, fourth, check the map to see if there is a twister so you know where it is and what direction it’s going in, and lastly, be ready to replace damaged fences and repair damaged buildings and substations.
With this building tips you can actually just focus on dinosaur tbh, to 5 stars this island you just need 1 hotel, 1 shop, 1 restaurants, 1 arcade buildings, using the monorail instead paths is a good tips, then just do 3 enclosure and oyu good to g3 1 enclosure : rex between 350-400 score 2nd enclosure : Deinonychus x4 (around 120 score) & one Metriacanthosaurus (between 220 & 250 score) 3nd enclosure: all you want here is a lot of variety, so i used Taurosorus x2, Chungkingosaurus x2, Styracosaurus x2, Kentrosaurus x3, Diplodocus x1, Triceratops x1 ( modify all theese as much as possible but with a rate of 39% succes and 3x 2.0 succes incubation in your labs you should be good to go) and that's it with all theese dino and listed buildings you got your 5 stars Pena with a lot of rooms yet available.

Well, beelining large power stations is a definite must, the usual safe set up which was more than enough for my island was two sets of large power stations with 1 lvl3 output, 2 lvl2 outputs, 1 lvl3 outage protection and last one being any lvl upkeep reduction. Doing 2 lvl3 and 1 lvl1 output also produces the same power output. Place one of the power stations near the entrance as you need the other side of the road for the monorail station. Then place the other one near the expedition center. You will need to replace the fossil center for a more efficient use of space. Also try limiting the number of hatcheries to 2 - 3. Also with luck, usually your first dinosaur is a grantee so i got a heavily modified trex at like -20 ish viablity (without hatchery improvements) as the first dino.
With this I had 3 trex sized paddocks at the end of the island and one large one at the center full of sauropods and got 5 stars.

What you do is make big money dinos (Tyrannosaurus, Indominus, brachiosaurus, etc.) And build an emergency shelter wherever there are buildings. Whenever a storm warning appears, immediately engage a simple Two-Step Plan:
1. Open Shelters
2. Tranquilize the dinos that freak out easily. (Velociraptor, Indominus, etc.)
It's uphill from there.

Amusingly enough, the fact that Pena is so dark gets to me much more than the size. The lack of space is just an organization issue, but with it being so dark I can't see a bloody thing. Really fun when a twister just destroyed half my fences and dinos are running around everywhere. I just researched all the Pena items available and I'm about to restart the island, which will be nice because I won't need a Research building. These tips will hopefully make my second stab at Pena significantly less frustrating than my first. Thanks so much, BIS!
I just had my Muerta Park absolutely obliterated by that security mission because I moved my permanently agitated raptor in with my others and the whole raptor pack escaped, in the middle of a storm, with power knocked out, while I was tranquilizing Styracosauruses.

AquaJetGaming that mission sucked I gave the annoying ass mission raptor who I named Vince a friend named Vicky but they escaped so I just put a million fences around Vince and sold him when I was done with the mission
My suggestion is to modify the dilosoures as it can live alone and it is easy to manage

By the time I got here I still didn't have the restaurant. Using the Fast Food joint as a replacement still maxed out the facility to 5 stars, so all still good.

Getting five stars is pretty easy on this island. I managed to complete it within a few hours.
- The brutal tornado that tears through the island and fucks up your fencing is probably the bigger challenge. I dedicated the most northern section part of the island to my dinosaurs so and fenced it right to the edges, leaving them with little room to escape. Replace the concrete with electric concrete fencing once you are rewarded with it and make sure to have multiple fences in the more open areas.
- Limit the carnivore dinosaurs you incubate and release. AVOID smaller carnivores that have high social needs. I had one T-Rex and it was easy to tranquillise him before a storm hit.
- Also AVOID dinosaurs with low population tolerance. When the dinos get agitated during a storm they will destroy your concrete fencing and once they break into the next pen its population bar will blow up.
- You only need one hotel on the island. Try and cram all the guest facilities into the medium sized western section of the island, and only have the basics on the northern fenced section for the viewing galleries. I managed to get a five star rating with only a 30% visibility rating.
- Start by prioritising your security reputation. It has the better rewards.
- You will not make much profit on this island due to the limited guest facilities. Try and keep things minimal.

I just finished the monorail and cluster of stores near the hotel, then a tornado came by and knocked out my power. I don't have a Ranger Station to fix it. RIP Pena 2020

I've tested it out, Dinosaur Visibility is actually important.
The higher the Dinosaur Visibility, the more people will use the nearby Guest Facilities, which will thus increase Facility Rating.

Don't place raptors or dinos with high social needs on this island. It's best to have one higher rating, low social needs dinosaur like the T-Rex that you can easily tranq before a storm.
A lot of people don’t have the deluxe dinosaur dlc so what other dinosaur would u pick instead of archaeornithomimus

You can fit two SPS's in the space instead of a MPS.
Tip: when there is a storm approaching try to tranquilize as much carnivores as you can, so they can't break out, you just have to transport them somewhere else in their enclosure otherwise they won't wake up.
