North of Bodega bay ain’t bad either. Good waves water temp average 53* I just wear an xterra 3mm sleeveless wetsuit that triathletes wear but I’m kind of a water buffalo fat dude. I been in the water from Dillons to Fort Bragg my entire life though so I’m use to it. Stings at first but once you start going and getting in the groove the chill disappears. I’m 45 with arthritis in my arms from some bad accidents so it’s actually very therapeutic for me!
60 degrees "warm", I'll freeze my butt off in 60 degree weather. Expecting 80s today here in Southern Fl. But compared to New Jersey, I guess 60 is pretty warm. Getting up at 4 am with snow on the ground had to be hard. That looked like a fun little spot you guys surfed. In addition, no pack of surfers fighting for waves. Like you said, lots of different spots all up and down the coast. Yeewww

Was there last summer! Love that area! Got to scope mavs and surfed montara state park on south swell. Super awesome. Also got to surf Linda Mar on a North swell.
I love the variety of waves in SC. Something for everyone from bodysurfers to longboarders and that's just in town. Just gotta stay away from the well known spots that are overrun by barneys.

Ya gotta hit Steamer Lane and head north to places like Scott's Creek. I've been there when it was cracking at 3-5' perfection and not a soul out. The parking lot had people looking but no one surfing. Being from Florida we had to take any opportunity to surf and headed out. In an hour the place was had few of the locals in the water wondering why we were surfing in what they called slop, LOL. Met some truly great people out there but it has been many years since then and I'm not sure if the whole localism garbage has ruined it. Keep these videos rollin, us old guys really appreciate it!

Ben Gravy I have not ridden it in a few years but there is a standing wave in Rancho Cordova on the American River at Clay Banks which is a small park at the end of Elmanto drive...but there are tons of standing waves in the foothills of the Sierras with all the snow fed rivers although not sure what the best ones are...mostly on my bike nowadays unless I'm at my parents in New Smyrna Beach...yewwww

Cali coast is crazy!!! My twin bro lives in laguna. Hopefully be out there in March for our 40th! The ocean and waves are so different out there!
