2024.09.23 fall wisconsin surf, great lakes surfing

- NNE swell - wind along shore was light NNW but open water was all NNE - water close to 70°F, air 50°F. had a great session last night and was more than i was expecting. luckily it carried through the night but dropped a lot of its size from when i first got out at sunrise to around 8:30am. still had a great time riding the skua again here. i did take out my midlength for a bit once i noticed the size dropping more and longer lulls between sets but the camera died and didnt save any of the footage. oh well, just happy it got the 1st half of my session! hopefully more surf soon.

You will enjoy it more if you stay crouched add a little more weight towards the mid section of that meaty board then drive down on the tail. You’re actually burying the back half of the board with your stance.

You’re doing great bro! Slide your front leg up some, you will know the sweet spot when you hit it.. stay low and drive your legs. Pump down the line like shock absorbers, plus you dealing with fresh water that is less buoyant then the ocean. Be one with the wave and flow with the board speed. U will be tearing the lip off the waves very soon! Mahalo

My wife and I are planning to move to Wisconsin next year or so! I lived in Florida for 20 years and I had no idea such waves existed like these! I’m even more excited to move and join ya out there on those waves bro! 😎
