Full price for basically a cosmetic update is absolute waste. Also why they don't offer buttcaps with trap door and no different grip shapes is a big NO for me. Companies are too stubborn these days... -.-
they dont make buttcaps because they dont alowed the foam to get exposed to air every time a noob want to open it.There is science behind racquets and integrity of racquets must be maintained so move ur preference to holow racquets if u wanted to open the buttcap.
@@agradina Never heard so much BS in a single comment... you have absolute no clue what you're talking about. "Because they don't allow the foam to be exposed" LMFAO, there are tons of other foam filled racquets with trap doors...
@@agradina Wow! Who knew the internal foam of a TF racket is hermetically sealed off?! Those airtight grommets must have cost a fortune to develop. LMAO. Incidentally, how does a TF pro-stock hairpin work if there’s no space in the handle for silicone?
Love the feel of tecnifibre racquets, but have never been able to use that grip shape. Hope they update them some day. Too many good racquets these days to have to deal with customizing the grip.
Sounds exactly like what I am looking for which was a Blade 16x19 with more power. The head shape looks a little strangely not quite symmetrical which is something that I like o Wilson frames and will have to adjust to, but otherwise looks good. I can’t figure out for the life of me why Wilson or Head can’t make a modern control frame in a 98 head size with a bit more pop. Jonas. I've been watching your videos for a few years now. Your footwork and stroke production has really improved. More smooth stroke production too. Nice work.
great to see this! JUST got a used version of the last model OF the 305 cheaply in the maill, and i’m excited to try it out. coming from a pure aero 300 (weighted up to 340), which i like, but have always dreamed of playing a TF. loved my days with the pure aero 98, so i thought “for about $100 strung, why not?” thank you for all the content, but especially for pointing that the last iteration was also solid.
@tennisnerd this became my racquet. i love it. i wish it had a little more power, though. i was fooling around with the pure aero 98 as well, which beckett at tenncom told me you were doing also, but you settled on the PA98. i'm still trying to wring a little more power out of my tf40, though. if you have any advice for stringing/modding the V2 to get more pop, i'm all ears!
edit: you mentioned there's no trap door. On my TF40 I had to drive nails into the foam in the handle to add weight. You have to take off the whole butt cap to do that
Another informative review! One question: at 4:10 you comment the mold seems the same as the last gen. If this one's constant beam is 21.7mm vs. the last one's 22mm, doesn't that suggest a new mold?
I think sometimes they round of the beam measurements, but if there was a mold update, it must have been very slight, and there has been no mention of it from Tecnifibre or retailers. So it is minimal, if any.
Yes, that makes sense. They wouldn't be the 1st racquet maker to do such rounding. And, PS, I dig how you ALWAYS get into the specs and how they combine to affect the feel on-court. Thanks!
Great review as always. One thing - you mentioned your SW being 330 on the 305. TW lists the avg SW at 320. Is yours really 10 pts higher without any modifications? Thx
Ive try the 315 and i feel like the head light actually made it harder for my 1H backhand. Sure its eaiser to move arojnd but Sounds odd i know. i personally like 305 18x20 added lead tape 6grams. Works well also on the backhand slice. String with hyperG and RMP hybrid with 52lbs. I think the TF40 line give the best feel compared to other brand of the control frame.

*I need help!* I have a 2012 Wilson Pro Staff Six 100, a 2013 Babolat Aero Pro Drive, and a 2024 Yonex VCore98. I had considered the Babolat to be my primary racquet, and didn't like the Yonex. But, in comparing them against a machine yesterday, the results (well-struck balls, in the court) turned out relatively even. But, the Yonex (98sq in) seemed like it had a smaller sweet spot, the Wilson always seems like it's much easier to get good contact with, but the Babolat has more spin. Not sure what to do. I'd love something with the stability/accuracy of the Wilson, but spin of the Babolat, and i don't know which way to turn-to a newer/different Wilson or to a newer/different Babolat. Unfortunately, i'm just on the other side of the US border, in Mexico, so i can't trial anything. Thoughts? Anyone? What i've been considering: This TF40, Wilson Pro Staff X, the Shift, or a current Babolat Pure Drive(?). I didn't even realize the Wilson was 'light' until this week. Maybe why it's better against slower balls and the Babolat is better against more pace/topspin. I'm 6'3", 210lbs, so i'm not for or against more or less weight in a racquet. But, the Wilson being light surprised me, since it seems to be the most 'stable.'
Hight swingweights on stock frames are very problematic. If you get an overspec one it becomes basically unplayable and you can't fix it. Brands should give us low swingweight frames that we can add weight to. They could even supply lead tape and instructions on how to do it to make clear to consumers that you should tune the racquet to your taste.
How does this racket compare to the Solinco Whiteout 305 16x19? On paper, this is the closest thing I've seen to that racket. My Whiteout came in way overspec with a 340 swingweight, but I don't mind that at all. My biggest problem is the launch angle. Are there any issues with the launch angle on the new TF40s?
@JoxAtienza i used both. 18m and 16m. I like the 18m better with slices. 16m still feels good. To me its not that much different. I can produce same amount of topspin. 16m feels little bit harder to control on volley sometimes.
Something that I think you should talk about when reviewing rackets is how easily the grommets are replaceable. A super important feature in my opinion
What you think about TF 40 305 16x19(2022)? I try to choose between 16x19 and 18x20 tf 40 305. Is it controllable power on previous model 2022? I know that swingweight was so small..

What do you think ? There are other racquets that i should consider in that range (98-100 sq.head, and 295-310g unstrung) ? I've seen also Head Gravity Mp XL but maybe is too low in stiffness
Hi. Jumping in here. If you have nit try adding 6grams of lead tape. I used to play with Dunlop CX. But i think the TF40 18x20 + added weight works very well with flat hitter. Give it a go!
Swingweights should be standardized to be lower stock due to quality control issues and customization purposes. Rarely do players nowadays use a racket and not customize to their specs.
