The Apeman a80 has a novatek 96669 chip and a sony imx206 16mp sensor. The 9660 chip can output at best 2k 24frame video. Also a major factor is the bits per second in the recorded data stream. Bps are quite low for the interpolated 4k video and it is no better than the 1080p. 1080 60p seems to be the best video setting although it is really 30p. The 1080p quality is reasonably good and the image stabilization helps a lot to remove much of the shake. I like this camera and use it for underwater and action shots. All these cheap action cams have fake specs so its hard to know what you are getting.
Yeah, can't justify the price of a GoPro so I've just ordered the Apeman for 'rough and ready footage.' I have a Firefly and SJLegend (both great cameras) but bought the cheaper Apeman for more 'risky (!)' ventures! Your footage looks great. Enjoy your fishing.
Hows the battery life? I received a Activeon solar XG for xmas and the battery blows haha.. going to be returning the camera and im looking at the Akaso 4k one and this Apeman one.. and its coming down to battery life and mainly in colder weather.. whats your opinion on this matter?
Craig Lafferty no it’s all good matey. Seriously you can’t go wrong. It’s practically pocket money for a decent action cam. Was thinking of a go pro but £500 for s 4K version is crazy money.
Tez2001 It’s a micro SF card so you can either do it on your laptop or use the function in the cameras features. Full directions in the manual if you get stuck :-)

marcin piak thanks man. Footage is well good enough when compared with TH-cam vids shot on a go pro.
Considering how much this costs compared to a Go Pro, I'm going to give it a shot.
Going to use it on the new kayak, should be fine for a beginner.
I just got a GoPro and they are amazing. Not without fault, but for the price its a steal!

Brad Neal usually an hour running time but the 4 k version comes with 2 batteries, also can get 2 more and a charging station for about £12.

What is the clicking noise? I also occasionally hear a whirring noise.
Craig Lafferty it’s an electric bike. The whirring is the motor and the clicking is just the mud guard.
