- Hi everyone, thank you for 19 minutes of your time. In this video are iPhone 4 16GB, iPhone 5c 16GB and 13" Mid-2012 MacBook Pro. I got more Apple products but in this video are 3 only. For the other products I'm waiting some parts and I will make video about. I got this things from very close friends that are Apple guys. And I'm very glad because I made all these 3 devices working again.
The MacBook have 8GB RAM and 240GB SSD, not much but good for this device. To paint the MacBook I used Matte Black Sprays, low pressure Flame for the base and standard Molotow for the dots and drops effect. The booth are little different shade and in combination the paint look like black pearl glitters.

Never fails to amaze me! That Mac looks great. Maybe you can remove the broken ram slot and solder a new or used working ram slot.
Thank youu bro :) Is not the RAM slot, the logicboard is damaged somewhere between the board layers, the slot is fine. I can try repair but the chance to fully ruin the board are pretty big

Sir, I am a solid big fan of yours... I started watching your videos 4 years ago I remember the first video I watch is the Hp laptop wrap with red and black carbon vinyl... I was so amazed by the results since then I started following you and watching your videos. I also learned how to repair my own 2012 NEC laptop because of your videos... unfortunately last month my laptop broke down, I tried the basic troubleshooting I find and those didn't work. I don't have any money to send it to a technician considering that I'm still a student😢... I really need it for my school research.

135 on this model, in some bigger ones like 17 inch ones, there is 165 screws plus rivets if i remember correctly

Nice stuff, glad to see these devices all in function again! Shame about the MacBook only being able to use 1 RAM now but at least 8GB sticks are supported on these older machines!
Also how did you get Ventura on this system? As I have a couple of 2010s (including a Macbook in white plastic - so not the Pro version) that I want to keep going for as long as I can, and 10.13 already dropped support for Chrome/Firefox etc.
Lastly - always use Macs Fan Control on these as they tend to run quite hot. I aim for a maximum 70'C on mine.
Ventura can be installed with OpenCore Legacy Patcher.

i have the same macbook pro andrew and i got an ifit kit as the thermal paste was from 2012. i did break the small clip holding the keyboard backlight, but if that is all that broke and it all runs great still then i can't complain for the first try at it.......plus it was free and in like new condition. like you i used oclp to get the latest ventura on it and works like a champ.
When I start learning repairs I break many things as well :D mistakes are happening when you work something, that's normal

I'm impressed. I'm not very skilled, but regardless, I'm always fascinated when old tech and gadgets can be restored. In a world today where we are dealing with inflation and cost of living is getting more expensive, repurposing and bringing back old tech to life can be very essential, saves money, and being environmentally friendly. Have you ever thought of putting a Linux distro in the MacBook Pro?
As for the iPhones, if you don't intend to use them as phones, you may be able to use them for something else. Some examples:
- USB storage
- Alarm clock
- Dash camera (though be warned, when exposed under the sun, the phone will not work because it will overheat. Need to figure out a way to shield it)
- Web camera (if the web cam on the laptop has bad quality, or doesn't work)
- still and video camera
- e-reader
- mp3 player/iPod
- voice recorder

You can make dual boot. There are many guides on TH-cam, but before doing something make a full backup

That's my solution for a 'magnetic screwdriver'. It torments me that people think they need to buy a magnetic screwdriver, when they probably possess a screwdriver and a magnet already.
I agree bro, one magnet is just universal for almost all screw drivers and as well cheap and easy to find

When You buy A New Logic Board For That MacBook, After You Replaced The Old One, You Are Going To Install Extra 8GBs Of Ram!
With 8GB is fine, with 16 is going to better, but new logic boards are expensive, even used ones will cost the same as to get another macbook

There are a couple videos out there installing a plastic card under the RAM slot to fix the issue. It didn’t work on my 2011 model but you should give it a try!

Just a tip: unplug the battery before unplugging any of the other parts. I killed an iPhone 3GS and a 6 by not doing that

How did you create a boot disk for the mac?
I also have an old model (2009) and I couldn't find a working boot disk.
=)) If you were to add few drops of gold with that purple would be a marvelous color.
This is good idea, but for gold drops I have better purple vinyl, royal purple with very unusual shades, always looks different under different light
