    Nice👍 probably a silly question but I noticed your skis very close together in the short turns - what's the rationale?

      @@ReillyMcGlashan Thank you! Do you have a rule of thumb to help others size their poles? Mine are old school too long so I am going to cut them shorter.

    Hey Reilly, I take your videos as inspiration to improve every time I get out. I love the videos you put out. Please do a few more on progressing from short turns on groomed terrain to moguls. You are extremely still with your hands driving forward, great example to me, but I get a sense that you are using quite short ski poles. I am 1.87m (6"1) and my poles are 1.25m. Should I go down in size?

    • @ReillyMcGlashan
      @ReillyMcGlashan  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Maybe 117cm maybe good to try? depends on the skis you are using and how much edge angle you are getting...

    Are you still riding for the APSI Demo team?

    • @ReillyMcGlashan
      @ReillyMcGlashan  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The term finished after the last interski (last year). They have selections for the next team this year. I will not be trying out again. 8 Years on the team is a big stint and it would be another 4 year commitment if I made the next team. I had a great time being apart of a fun team with the APSI but I can't commit to another 4 years.

      Thanks Davin. I hope you do great in your level 1!. Just remember make sure practice is fun, keep challenging yourself but stay positive when learning new skills. Skiing is the best sport I love it. The main thing for me is trying to never get frustrated with progress! Enjoy the ride of learning and progressing because it never ends.

    Hi Reilly, noticed that your poles became extremely short... Ain't I mistaken?Looks like 110 cm...

    • @ReillyMcGlashan
      @ReillyMcGlashan  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      100cm

    • @ReillyMcGlashan
      @ReillyMcGlashan  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      100cm... just depends on the skis I am using and how much edge angle... for moguls and short turns with slalom skis 100cm or hip height is good. For doing short turns on GS skis I would ski longer poles due to the fact that there will not be as much edge angle... all just up to how much edge angle you have when you are about to pole plant.

      +Миша Федоренко миша, когда есть такие парни как Reilly McGlashan, смешно постить катание, каким бы хорошим оно ни было... Но вы, видимо, просто не понимаете суть современного катания, если критикуете Reilly, когда сами катаетесь (да ещё и просите кого-то ЭТО снимать) как ученик. Работайте над собой, изучайте технику, добавьте упражнения в ОФП... Будьте скромнее и умнее. )))
