In Jurassic Park III, Billy mentions the Spinosaurus not being on InGen's list, in which Alan replies, "It wasn't on their list, which makes me wonder what else they've been up to." In other words, JP3 alludes to Ingen creating new dinosaurs and experimentimg on the island

Considering how large the island geographically is, I think it's certainly possible that Spinosaurus was already on there when the second film took place. After all, the expedition team haven't spent too much time on Isla Sorna, they didn't cover a whole lot of grounds either which means that there are still plenty that they haven't seen and Spinosaurus may just be one of those things. Personally, I don't believe that any organisms, no matter how overly aggressive it is, would be self-destructive enough to go after "anything" it detects. The JP Spino might be constantly itching for fights with other large predators on the site but that doesn't necessarily cloud its own judgement. There have been not one, but two fully-grown Tyrannosaurus Rex at that time, both far bigger than the bull T-rex which Spinosaurus have handled in the third film. Besides, Spiny was not yet fully-grown in Jurassic Park 3, that means that it was even younger and smaller in Jurassic Park 2, when the T-rex family ruled. Going after the pair of T-rex and picking a fight with them is a mean of suicide. What Spiny want is to stay away from them, as far as possible, that is why it was never seen in Jurassic Park 2.
I liked it just fine. Remember being excited seeing the poster at Universal Studios Islands of Adventure after 4 years of silence and not expecting it.
The concept that the Spinosaurus may have been Henry Wu’s first dalliance with making hybrid carnivours is tantalizing. It would explain why Spino, Indominus Rex, and Indoraptor all seem to have an insatiable appetite and why they always end up in duel with a regular Dino like Rex or Blue or both. Billy says to Grant when given the tooth, “I don’t remeber that being one InGen’s list,” and Grant says, “It wasn’t and that makes me wonder what else they are up to..” Perfect foreshadowing of Wu’s hybridasaurs. However, a simpler answer is the Spino was hatched and matured after The Lost World, as evidenced in Eric and Grant’s conversation in the InGen truck, “when Ingram left they left behind a lot of stuff,” to this Grant asks, “did they leave any weapons?” Now you could infer that Eric simply means from when InGen left fear behind in the Lost World, but it could mean InGen visited the island when Eric was there. However, this does not explain how Spino was already an adult Apex predator because Eric was only there eight weeks. So the more likely is Henry Wu and Masaroni/InGen developed the Spino between The Lost World and Jurassic Park III. If this is so, we then can view Spino as the first harbinger of hybrids, predating the Indominus Rex and Indoraptor. Another fan favorite theory is the Spino is responsible for killing the crew on the boat that carries the Adult Buck Male T-Rex to San Diego. Story boards debunk this with scenes of Velociraptors and Pteradons attacking the crew. But the Spino could have been responsible. His crocodile snout did get into the Kirby rented plane with ease and could have gotten into the narrow entersnce to the bridge and eaten the man whose hand was on the wheel; then again a missing hand of arm is raptoresque; examples being Mr. Arnold’s in JP and the man eaten by the Indoraptor in his cage.
It also fits better with the new information we have about Spinosaurus (it likely a ambush predator, not pursuit, and it had a newt like tail which allowed it to swim, but most likely it spent it's time wading in the shallows)
The obvious real world explanation is that they didn't care about continuity. In-world however, I would say that the reason the Spinosaurus wasn't in Lost World is because it was too young to challenge the Rexes, and therefore stayed in a small territory. When it got older and was able to take on larger prey, it became bolder. In JP3, it was in it's ... shall we say teenage "I'm invincible" stage, thus it's daring to take on even a Rex
@@dylanmayabb8847 Thats because T.rex was indeed bigger, Spinosaurus was longer however T.rex was heavier, this means T.rex was bigger then spinosaurus not like a mega diference The largest T.rex specimen scotty is estimated to weight about 8.9 tonnes . while the largest specimen of spinosaurus MSNM v 4047 has a mass estimated from 6.9 to 7.6 tonnes And the avarage weight of T.rex ranges between 7.5 to 7.9 tonnes. while the avarage weight of spinosaurus ranges between 4.5 to 5.5 or 6 tonnes so yea. T.rex was overall larger then spinosaurus,
@@raptormage2209 i mean, there are far more found specimens for the trex than for the spinosaurus. Wasn't the overall estimation for the spinosaurus around 7 tons?
Probably because in the Lost World we have a pair bonded coupling of two full grown Tyrannosaurus that are extremely protective of their infant. Despite the Spino being only slightly larger, I doubt the spino would even attempt to encroach on the territory of the two tyrannosaurus. It would have to take on not one but two beasts of similar stature.
I would say in the events of lost world, with the Rex's moving as a family unit, perhaps that has something to do with no Spino. The fact 2 adults were running around as a team would deter it from entering their territory. Perhaps the events of lost world altered the Rex territory so much that they split up more with the extra space or to cover more ground. This would have given the Spino a 1 on 1 chance, and perhaps this lead to it's rise to the top.

As was seen in JP3, the Spinos territory is by the worker facility where Lost World ended. So, I think that the reason why the Spino attacks the Rexes in JP3 is because the Rexes tracked the humans into its territory during the events of Lost World. So that explains why it is so hostile to humans and Rexes in JP3. Both invaded its territory in Lost World, so it was defending against them.
maybe the spinosaurus wasnt fully grown in the 3rd one? and so it would have been even smaller in the 2nd and so wouldnt appear in it as it would be hunting small dinosaurs and not fighting bigger ones yet...? just my thoughts

The most likely answer it didn't want approach the 2 adult trex territory Yes the spino in that movie was a very aggressive animal but no animal is gonna take on two rexes
Happy to see a small TH-camr taking initiative to make quality entertaining videos, the amount of effort you put into your content is amazing. Keep up the good work and you’ll always have a like from me👍
The Spinosaurus being the first hybrid species is definitely and interesting theory. If I remember correctly Hammond died shortly after the events of Lost World and Masrani aquired InGen around the same period of time. So it's likely that Spinosaurus was the off the books first attempt at hybrids leading up to the Indominus Rex.
The spinosaurus in JP3 looks nothing like an actual Spinosaurus, and concider how agressive the Spino acts in the movie, is it too far fetched to believe it to be a hybrid? the real spinosaurus had short stubby legs and mostly lived an aquatic lifestyle. while yes we do see the Spino in the movie being in the water with the boat scene, the Dinosaur they showed us is waaay to big with long legs, being bigger than the T.rex. Sure it may be error from the people making the movie, since not a lot of information about the Spinosaurus was known around that time, but it is a fun theory to imagine it to be the first Hybrid. A ¨mistake¨ left on sorna. It would explain the errors with its irl counterpart.
Really? it has? just seems to me like a fun theory to bring up. Doesn´t neccesarly mean it´s cannon, but wow, people act like dickheads about it ? lmao
Personally I'd love to see the area where Deter took his last breaths. I don't know why, but that part always creeped me out and I thought the setting was awesome and quite eerie. Also since I finally got around to reading the books in recent years I enjoyed how similar his death is to John Hammond's in the novel. Also I just want to give a huge thank you for your channel and awesome videos! I've loved JP since I saw the first one in theaters in '93 and your videos provide plenty of information about the franchise I didn't know, or even knew existed, and backup theories I've pondered relating pieces of the book to scenes in the movies! While new official JP movie releases are few and far between over the years, your videos offer up so much lore that it feels like a mini combination of book/movie version playing out in every single one. Thanks again!
Hey Klayton! I just moved to Oahu a few months ago and the first thing I did was visit Kualoa Ranch where they filmed the scenes from the original. One of the reasons I moved out here was to be closer to the filming locations throughout the islands, haha. I even have a photo of myself with the infamous log from the gallimimus scene which was incredible experience and one I had dreamed about since a very young age. Just like you I have alway wanted to visit Eureka and the Redwoods in the Lost World, but until then I am going to explore Hawaii's filming locations. If you do end up coming to Oahu, hit me up and we can hit the ranch and take notes and photos of the locations! I Love your page and content of course and I can say that your channel has filled the void of the Jurassic lore that I have been waiting for for a long, long time. Much respect bro! Regards, James
movie: "we need a dinosaur that is bigger, tougher and meaner that T-rex" me: "The third movie had that spinosaurus, perhaps you could use that" movie: "let's make a new one" me: (ಠ_ಠ)
The Spino was apparently confirmed dead and that the Spino skeleton the T-rex smashes through in the Jurassic World was the Spino from JP3 (also a way to appease the fans who didn't like the Spino killing a T-rex)
I've been to Hawaii twice, in '94 and '97. The '97 trip was spent entirely on Kauai. We visited two spots they filmed the original JP: The island intro with the helicopter when John Williams' epic score enters (which is only accessible via boat tour) and the Velociraptor feeding pen (which was torn down before we visited and replaced with a beautiful botanical gardens that you can walk on and is a tourist hot spot).
Oh, I really love these elaborate theories! Even though in reality it probably was just "we need a bigger dinosaur for part 3". Or (as a colleague of mine often said): "Puff, magic."
what's random is that in the latest movie "Fallen Kingdom" it's all about saving the dinosaurs from extinction from the Isla Nublar island volcano.. did everyone just forget about site B (Isla Sorna)????
To: Timber_Wulf _________________ Sorna is NOT confirmed to be "purged of dinos" they can't know for sure, so they took whatever was seen. There was a drop in population, nothing more.
Oh, man! I just found your channel and I'm ecstatic!😍 I've been a fan of dinosaurs and of the franchise all my life. Thank you so much for your work and I really don't care what you do next; it will be awesome either way! ❤

Crichton's Lost World Novel alludes to the idea that the pack of Raptors on Sorna are...for want of a better term, "Feral," because they were abandoned on the island and had no parents to teach them about proper social behaviors and hunting patterns. Thus, they came off as more aggressive and wild than the Raptors from Nublar. The expanded lore surrounding JP3 states that the Spinosaurus' creation was ultimately an accident surrounding a case of mistaken identity. The engineers on Sorna at first believed that what they were creating was a clutch of Baryonyx eggs; the first two being real Baryonyx, but the third being the Spinosaurus. The geneticists couldn't immediately tell the difference because the creature's sail wouldn't develop until maturity. So the three animals were raised together...until Spino got big enough and aggressive enough, to realize that he could easily overpower the other two "siblings"... He ate them... I wonder if what happened to the Feral Raptors is the same case that happened to Spino...It technically happened to the Indominus as well, but there are so many other factors that played into that; further complications that might overlap if the Spino IS a Hybrid. So...My theory is, that because Spino didn't necessarily have any actual siblings to interact with, when it figured out that it was "different" from the other two, and didn't necessarily have anything "bigger" around to keep him in line...Spino started testing his boundaries... In essence, it's a lot like what Indominus was doing; it was killing to see if there was anything that could stop it or at least stand up to it. Maybe that's why Spino kept going around intentionally looking for a fight with Tyrannosaurus; it wanted to prove that it was the biggest, baddest bastard on the block... Granted, I somewhat disagree with Crichton's description from the Lost World, because that would mean that every single Dinosaur bred on the island and in Jurassic Park would be feral; it's not like they'd actually have parents to raise them BEFORE hand.
Yeah absolutely excited for it, haven't been hyped for a game since Alien Isolation... I just hope they don't mess it up with too many microtransactions or locked content. There are so many ways to fuck up a modern day game so I will wait for about a week after the games release before deciding to buy it and I hope sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much that its good ._.
I have high hopes for the game, its being made by the same guys who did Elite Dangerous, Planet coaster and Zoo tycoon so it should be good, If its not I live near their studio so I will just burn it down :)
There's one idea that I haven't seen many people suggest, but the evidence to support it actually goes back to the very first movie - the idea being that the plant life on Sorna, like the Spinosaurus is genetically engineered. Ellie Sattler says to John Hammond that Ingen has chosen plants for Jurassic Park simply because they look good, but that like the dinosaurs they have absolutely no idea what century they're in. It would make sense that if Ingen wanted to create dinosaurs from so many different parts of the world, it might have been easier to engineer environments for them rather than engineer the dinosaurs themselves. Such meddling would have made sense on a testing ground like Isla Sorna. They might even have done similar on the other islands. Hypothetically, in 1997 the Spinosaurus may have been resident to a part of the island that Ingen had engineered a more tropical flora. That flora - the more tropical and dense forests we see in JP3 - would abundantly support prey the Spinosaurus was capable of easily bringing down (unlike the drier, wider plains we see in TLW which would have been abundant in more dangerous herbivore giants like the Sauropods). It's feasible that by 2001 this flora had spread like a contagion to other parts of the island - once introduced it didn't stop spreading. With that, the smaller herbivore species flourished and the Spinosaurus was able to expand its territory too. That'd also explain why by JP3, the command center looks far more overgrown with tropical growth. Put more simply, whilst any theory is simply addressing inconsistency as a result of sloppy direction with JP3, it would actually make sense that Ingen is dabbling in the engineering and even possibly hybridisation of plants as well as animals (Ellie pretty much confirms it in JP1) - and Isla Sorna is literally an isolated cocktail of warped science.
The most recent canon information suggests the Spino was created in 1997 (A few months or so after TLW) by a small team of Ingen scientist that returned to Isla Sorna. The also made some ankylosaurus, corythosaurus and one other I can’t remember. They experimented on it for 9 months and then left. This would explain the line in JP 3 that the spino wasn’t on ingen’s “list”. I wouldn’t be surprised if Dr. Wu was one of the scientist that returned to the island and helped create it. It would honestly fit his JW character’s personality to do so.
Yeah, I think that it just took place in different sections of the island. Even the JW Lego game shows it on the map, so that's all I can think of for now :) I never knew that detail about Eric finding the cattle prod! That would've been a nice nod to TLW! I'd LOVE to travel to those locations, especially the Redwoods!
Post Michael Crichton... hollywood thought they would create a bigger and badder dinosaur than the T-Rex, and so was born the spinosaurus. The beauty of the Jurassic Park story was the spin that Crichton always took on the science. The conversations in the books were very different from what we saw in any of the movies. "What you see here," Arnold said, "is an entirely separate counting procedure. It isn't based on the tracking data. It's a fresh look. The whole idea is that the computer can't make a mistake, because it compares two different ways of gathering data. If an animal were missing, we'd know it within five minutes." "I see," Malcom said. "And has that ever actually been tested?" "Well, in a way," Arnold said. "We've had a few animals die. An othnielian got caught in the branches of a tree and strangled. One of the stegos died of that intestinal illness that keeps bothering them. One of the hypsilophodonts fell and broke his neck. And in each case, once the animal stopped moving, the numbers stopped tallying and the computer signaled an alert." "Within five minutes." "Yes." Grant said, "What is that right-hand column?" "Release version of the animals. The most recent are version 4.1 or 4.3. We're considering going to version 4.4." "Version numbers? You mean like software? New releases?" "Well, yes," Arnold said. "It is like software, in a way. As we discover the glitches in the DNA, Dr. Wu's labs have to make a new version." The idea of living creatures being numbered like software, being subject to updates and revisions, troubled Grant. He could not exactly say why - it was too new a thought - but he was instinctively uneasy about it. There were, after all, living creatures... Arnold must have noticed his expression, because he said, "Look, Dr. Grant, there's no point in getting starry-eyed about these animals. It's important for everyone to remember that these animals are *created*. Created by man. Sometimes there are bugs. So, as we discover the bugs, Dr. Wu's labs have to make a new version. And we need to keep track of what version we have out there." "Yes, yes, of course you do," Malcom said impatiently. "But, going back to the matter of *counting* - I take it all the counts are based on motion sensors?" "Yes." "And these sensors are everywhere in the park?" "they cover over ninety-two percent of the land area," Arnold said. "There are only a few places we can't use them. For example, we can't use them on the jungle river, because the movement of the water and teh convection rising from the surface screws up the sensors. But we have them nearly everywhere else. And if the computer tracks an animal into an unsensed zone, it'll remember, and look for the animal to come out again. And if it doesn't, it gives us an alarm." "Now, then," Malcolm said. "You show forty-nine procompsognathids. Suppose I suspect that some of them aren't really the correct species. How would you show me that I'm wrong?" ... ... As they were walking out, Gennaro said, "It looks like a pretty good system to me. I don't see how any animals could get off this island." "Don't you?" Malcolm said. "I thought it was completely obvious." "Wait a minute," Gennaro said. "You think animals have gotten out?" "I *know* they have." Gennaro said, "But how? You saw for yourself. They can count all the animals. They can look at all of the animals. They know where all the animals are at all times. How could one possibly escape?" Malcolm smiled. "It's quite obvious," he said. "It's just a matter of your assumptions." "Your assumptions," Gennaro repeated, frowning. "Yes," Malcolm said. "Look here. The basic event that has occurred in Jurassic Park is that the scientists and the technicians have tried to make a new, complete biological world. As in the graph they just showed us. Even though a moment's thought reveals that a nice, normal distribution is terribly worrisome on this island." "It is?" "Yes. Based on what Dr. Wu told us earlier, one should never see a population graph like that." "Why not?" Gennarro said. "Because that is the graph for a normal biological population. Which is precisely what Jurassic Park is not. Jurassic Park is not the real world. It is intended to be a controlled world that only imitates the natural world. In that sense, it's a true park, rather like a Japanese formal garden. Nature manipulated to be more natural than the real thing" ... "Now you see the flaw in your procedures," Malcolm said. "You only tracked the expected number of dinosaurs. You were worried about losing animals, and your procedures were designed to advise you instantly if you had less than the expected number. But that wasn't the problem. The problem was, you had more than the expected number." "Christ," Arnold said. "There can't be more," Wu said. "We know how many we've released. There can't be any more than that." "Afraid so, Henry," Malcom said. "They're breeding." "No." "Even if you don't accept Grant's eggshell, you can prove it with your own data. Take a look at the compy height graph. Arnold will pull it up for you." "Notice anything about it?" Malcom said. "It's a Poisson distribution," Wu said. "Normal curve." "But didn't you say you introduced the compys in three batches? At six-month intervals?"' "Yes..." "Then you should get a graph with peaks for each of the three separate batches that were introduced." "But you didn't get this graph," Malcolm said. "The graph you actually got is a graph of a breeding population. Your compys are breeding." Compare this to the dinner conversation from the first Jurassic Park movie: Dr. Ian Malcolm: Gee, the lack of humility before nature that’s being displayed here, uh… staggers me. Donald Gennaro: Well thank you, Dr. Malcolm, but I think things are a little bit different then you and I had feared… Dr. Ian Malcolm: Yeah, I know. They’re a lot worse. Donald Gennaro: Now, wait a second now, we haven’t even seen the park… John Hammond: No, no, Donald, Donald, Donald… let him talk. There’s no reason… I want to hear every viewpoint, I really do. Dr. Ian Malcolm: Don’t you see the danger, John, inherent in what you’re doing here? Genetic power is the most awesome force the planet’s ever seen, but you wield it like a kid that’s found his dad’s gun. Donald Gennaro: It’s hardly appropriate to start hurling generalizations… Dr. Ian Malcolm: If I may… Um, I’ll tell you the problem with the scientific power that you’re using here, it didn’t require any discipline to attain it. You read what others had done and you took the next step. You didn’t earn the knowledge for yourselves, so you don’t take any responsibility for it. You stood on the shoulders of geniuses to accomplish something as fast as you could, and before you even knew what you had, you patented it, and packaged it, and slapped it on a plastic lunchbox, and now Dr. Ian Malcolm: you’re selling it, you wanna sell it. Well… Not quite the same spark as any of the discussions from the book. In the book, Malcolm presents a real argument, explaining a real problem. The movie mostly just has him making vague grandiose statements filled with buzzwords.
Okay, so there was some minor affects, but they still didn't affect _Jurassic World_ as much as the first film did. I mean _World_ was set on the same island as the first, aka Isla Nublar, so bringing up the events of those two films would have been superfluous since they were set on Isla Sorna. That's what I was trying to say.
hope? In Fallen Kingdom we see an effort to transport dinosaurs off Nublar before the volcano goes off. Well, where else would they put them but Isla Sorna?
Extinction Level: Jurassic Park goes with the Spino not being on Sorna at the time of TLW as was just reveiled in episode 12. In EL:JP timeline it was created about a year later, making it 3 years old. A hint at how this dino already had the size it had has already been given in an earlier episode, but will be addressed again later on ;)
Viktor Lecter even though this is a 6 month old comment it’s exactly what I’ve been thinking, the Spino(s) were created as island defenses so no one would be stupid enough to go back to sorna on account of two big ass dinosaurs that love water hide in
As much as this very likely isn’t much to go on, I remember the Lego games map showing a smaller mountain range within thick vegetation separating the two parts of site b. And we’ve seen this divide in the opening to the lost world game too, when the island is shown. It makes sense to me that the mountains, much like real life, would create the dry forests on one side and the jungle on the other, and with the spinosaur being so large I can accept that it might not be able to traverse this central ridge and thus stay on its portion, whilst rexes could at a young age wander through to its part of the island-also explaining its territorial nature.
Funny you mention redwoods and tropical jungles. Ironically I think the tyrannosaurs favored the redwoods since that was one of their natural habitats and the Spinosaurus favored jungles since humid, wet, and swampy environments were natural to them. Personally I think the Spinosaurus just surveys its territory for rexes and takes them out for the sake of a T-Rex being a threat to its territory and a powerful rival.
Fallen Kingdom was an absolute garbage fire. Pure shit from start to finish. You actually enjoyed watching them rape the franchise for a quick buck? You must adore Dominion then.
I kinda believe that ‘ol Shredder (what I call the Spinosaurus..), like the raptors from the first film, has a deep hatred of humans maybe due to some not so positive experiences in the past when the dinosaurs lived behind bars. Maybe he was around since the beginning, but he was kept in quarantine due to being too dangerous for a park setting. Most would say just because humans tasted good, but why would a giant super predator waste energy chasing down tiny morsels, hellbent on tearing them apart, unless he carries a grudge against said morsels..
I heard from the special features from Jurassic Park 3 that unlike the T-Rex which is supposed to be as intelligent as a crocodile or an alligator, the spinosaurus was supposed to be not as bright, just more ferocious and more teeth!
Stefan Salvatierra the reason why spino has a hatred for humans is because they first intrude its home and try to shoot it and then later crash into it with a plane, OR, there are actually 2 spinos that lived on the island and it’s mate was killed by the plane soooo...ya but that wouldn’t make sense because spino wasn’t in the ingen list when it comes to making dinosaurs
That's my theory. They managed to create a Spino, Wu saw it differentiated GREATLY from what they, at the time, thought it looked like. Seeing as Hammond wanted to create creatures that looked as closely to what they thought they looked like, Wu decided to see if he couldn't "make" the Spino like they thought it looked like. When he noticed that splicing together Spino, Baryonyx and Suchomimus DNA wasn't all that difficult (kind of relatives), he decided to challenge himself and threw in something completely different: Raptor. This explains WHY the Spino seems so intelligent, is hyper aggressive and follows around the survivors: it's holding an immense grudge (something we've seen the Raptors do in JP with The Big One).
Well, it wasn't on Ingen's list, so it was unlikely. The Spinosaurus wasn't entirely well known, and it would make sense to only have one or two super predators (I am obviously talking about the T rex, but its debatable about velociraptors, due to their intelligence). The T rex alone would be able to make back the money spent on all initial expenses for the park, within 5 (at most) years. The other dinos would just expedite that.
I would love to see Stark's final resting place, aka the river in the lost world. That location was so vast and intimidating that I've become obsessed with forests thanks to it.
The Red Raptor I would like to see Vince Vaughn’s character back...that would be crazy if the kid in the new Jurassic movie is a younger younger brother or cousin of the black girl from lost World.
the dinosaur protection group website states that the spino and others were illegally cloned by Ingen under masrani global in 1997 100 days after they acquired ingen, explicitly mentioned that there had been reports of the spino and others in 2001, but that these statments were discredited by bribed officials.
Their is a possibility that isla sorna might make an appearance again in the next film, i mean think about it, where as else can u re locate the dinosaurs you managed to save from isla nublar? the only other place would be another new isolated island, but it would be better to relocate them back to sorna, as for the spinosaur, the best explanation to it, is that it must have been a stand alone clone back when ingen were still first cloning dinosaurs, the process resulted an abnormality in the gene splicing and the result is the spino we have here, it was intended to be discarded, hence not being in the list but the company left the island before they do, i still think their is only one spino as unlike other dinos, we only see one single specimen, also the fact that it seems to live near the cloning facility itself, it makes sense that it originated from some isolated enclosure and left to form it's territory their.
I think the lost world rexes were aware of the spino which is why they were territorial they didnt want the Humans to jepordize the young rex by accidently calling it in
I would also like to point out the fact that apex predators no matter how much stronger than one another would likely try to avoid each other as encountering another animal of that level even if guaranteed victory would probably have a high chance of sustaining an injury that would make you more vulnerable and incapable of defending your own territory. Even other non apex predators could potentially challenge it if it were to be seriously injured in a fight , so I am sure the spino wouldn't just willy nilly roam.
I think the reason the Spino never found the Rexes or even the location of TLW is because of Geography. We know that the island is extremely mountainous, and it’s most likely the Spino could traverse the vast mountains that separated the two parts of the island
Knowing what we know now about the Spinosaurus, your thumbnail is spot on, even that some scientist debate over the tail, crocodiles also don't propulse themselves totally by their tales, they literally walk in the river floor using the tail as secondary propulsion, so the idea of Spinosaurus being the dinosaur answer to crocodiles is not far off. Even by the sizes of the animal, is more probable that he hunted in lake banks than in rivers, but I not think there would be river deep enough to hide him.
My favourite movie was Jurassic park 3 burn me at the stake but it always has a place with me also it is possible that the spino was an ingen experiment and they dumped it on site b after lost world as an attempt to clear the island up but then the team in charge of looking after it was killed when they tried to leave wich would explain why it was so close to the air strip and if u look closely u can see another plane that was wrecked on the air strip what do u think
I'd think it'd be more credible to consider that the events of the Lost World and 3 occurred on different parts of Sorna given the topography and plant life in the third movie that wasn't present in the Lost World. Now of course, there'd then be some question as to how those two separate environments could have formed... As while Sorna is larger than Nublar, it isn't large enough (like say the island of Sakhalin in the Russian Far East) where one could suppose that there would be the room for different climate zones and thus different types of forest to grow... Maybe a sharp ridge that splits it in half and for some reason everything to the north grew like a more temperate forest as seen in the Lost World and everything to the south being more tropical as seen in the third movie. And while there may have been things that would hint at events from both movies, like the discarded vehicle, one could keep in mind that if Sorna was the "factory floor" where the bulk of InGen's work was done, it'd then make sense that there would be various facilities throughout the island and thus many vehicles... And if the working crews on Site B had the same sort of nightmare that the cast of Jurassic Park had... it'd then make for some rational speculation that dinosaurs on Site B broke containment in various locations and attacked people as a result... which could well mean that what they find in the third movie is simply another work site that had been the site of carnage during the hurricane and abandoned.
Yeah I had a theory about the Spino that I left in a comment on a past video. Basically that I wonder if the Spino wasn't created by Ingen since they never mentioned it or even acknowledged its existence. Possibly that another company made it as a biological weapon specifically to destroy facilities on Sorna which would explain its aggressiveness, durability, strength, speed, and persistency to hunt and kill humans like the irex.
Frankly; had JP3 not explicitly named the island as "Sorna", I would have thought that JP3 and TLW took place on completely separate islands. For a time, I did think just that as a kid given the large visual contrast between the two movies in terms of not only the environment but the appearance of the dinosaurs as well. Plus the addition of perimeter fences and enclosures which were conspicuously absent in TLW. Not to mention that fences and other containment equipment was said to be largely absent on Sorna in TLW. Plus the only fence featured in TLW was providing protection to the Ingen complex and worker village; it's completely absent in JP3.
We never got an explanation if Baryonyx was on Nublar during the first film. An explanation might be that the Spinosaur was mistaken for Baryonyx first. If they had been building a Baryonyx on Sorna for Nublar it could mean that what resulted was an unintentional mutant. It might need a population or various test animals (we know Sorna had more than one raptor and T.Rex), so it could be that while on Sorna the team didn't see it due to it being so young or the population migrated. Spinosaurs had been known to frequent rivers and I don't believe the gatherers actually stayed near them for extended periods of time for one to appear.
Since we can assume that most of Fallen Kingdom will take place on Isla Nublar, I would absolutely love it if we could see Rexy back in (or near) her old paddock where the original breakout scene happened! Now that she's free, I wonder if her territorial instincts would lead her back to her old stomping grounds :)
@@thelightpost6056 yes it did but it was actively chasing people i imagine that it wouldn't bother otherwise and that's why it wasn't in the lost world
Yea I've been saying this for a while. Everyone always forgets about that detail. That huge fence was the Spino's "pen." That fence was covering an area that was like about 10 square miles of territory, which is why we didnt see the Spino in the Lost World. It smashed the fence during JP3 when it was actively chasing the characters in JP3 like you said, and then it had the entire island to roam around freely. Isla Sorna is suppose to be astronomically larger than Isla Nublar also. Isla Nublar is like 25 square miles give or take, whereas Isla Sorna is suppose to be like the size of Jamaica or Puerto Rico in the books, so its a huge island. Where they were in the Lost World was probably like 100 miles away from where they are in JP3.
That doesn’t make sense considering the spino was already in the scene at the airstrip, and I find it unrealistic that Ingen would have such facilities INSIDE the spino’s pen. It’s also unlikely the spino hadn’t already broken out of its pen during the events of the second movie because it would have needed to hunt to survive
@@Upstart051the fence is weird , it might not be the enclosure for the spino maybe a divider of sorts. Plus the airports in a weird spot away from the other facilities we see. So maybe ingen was just shit at designing islands
I actually was lucky enough to visit both locations this year, and while they were both indeed incredible experiences, there's nothing like the remote Island setting of Hawaii (O'ahu) to compare to that excitedly 'Jurassic' feeling I got from the two different places; albeit slightly more "touristy" -- which I just resolved in my head as exceptional turnout for "the park, right over the mountain" ;)
The Spinosaurs probably just happened not to be around where the humans were or had already eaten a big meal and was not hungry to search out for food.

@brummyuk It wasn't the infant from Lost World. But you're right. It was NOT fully grown. It was much smaller than the other adult T-Rexes.

Probably because in the Lost World we have a pair bonded coupling of two full grown Tyrannosaurus that are extremely protective of their infant.

Spinosaurus is a real dinosaur not a hybrid
Kohrs Films what you mean by hybrid? Spinosaurus is a real Dino lol...

Perfect example of why absolutely love this channel

That's FALSE canon information!
The other was Ceratosaurus.
Wasn’t it created in 1999?
@@tvvistedv3nom26 yes
No way, already ingen experiment centers and laboratorys were destroyed (saw in jp2)

Bastizilla i saw you comment on the "How did ben die?" video
And in each case, once the animal stopped moving, the numbers stopped tallying and the computer signaled an alert."
"Within five minutes." "Yes." Grant said, "What is that right-hand column?" "Release version of the animals. The most recent are version 4.1 or 4.3. We're considering going to version 4.4." "Version numbers? You mean like software? New releases?" "Well, yes," Arnold said. "It is like software, in a way. As we discover the glitches in the DNA, Dr. Wu's labs have to make a new version."
The idea of living creatures being numbered like software, being subject to updates and revisions, troubled Grant.
"But, going back to the matter of *counting* - I take it all the counts are based on motion sensors?"
"Yes."
"And these sensors are everywhere in the park?" "they cover over ninety-two percent of the land area," Arnold said. And if it doesn't, it gives us an alarm."
"Now, then," Malcolm said.
"You think animals have gotten out?"
"I *know* they have."
Gennaro said, "But how? You saw for yourself. They can count all the animals. They can look at all of the animals. They know where all the animals are at all times. How could one possibly escape?" Malcolm smiled. "It's quite obvious," he said. "It's just a matter of your assumptions."
"Your assumptions," Gennaro repeated, frowning.
"Yes," Malcolm said. "Look here. The basic event that has occurred in Jurassic Park is that the scientists and the technicians have tried to make a new, complete biological world. As in the graph they just showed us. Even though a moment's thought reveals that a nice, normal distribution is terribly worrisome on this island."
"It is?"
"Yes. Based on what Dr. Wu told us earlier, one should never see a population graph like that."
"Why not?" Gennarro said.
"Because that is the graph for a normal biological population. Which is precisely what Jurassic Park is not. Jurassic Park is not the real world. It is intended to be a controlled world that only imitates the natural world. In that sense, it's a true park, rather like a Japanese formal garden. Nature manipulated to be more natural than the real thing"
...
"Now you see the flaw in your procedures," Malcolm said. "You only tracked the expected number of dinosaurs. You were worried about losing animals, and your procedures were designed to advise you instantly if you had less than the expected number. But that wasn't the problem. The problem was, you had more than the expected number."
"Christ," Arnold said.
"There can't be more," Wu said. "We know how many we've released. There can't be any more than that."
"Afraid so, Henry," Malcom said. "They're breeding."
"No."
"Even if you don't accept Grant's eggshell, you can prove it with your own data. Take a look at the compy height graph. Arnold will pull it up for you."
"Notice anything about it?" Malcom said. "It's a Poisson distribution," Wu said. "Normal curve."
"But didn't you say you introduced the compys in three batches? At six-month intervals?"'
"Yes..."
"Then you should get a graph with peaks for each of the three separate batches that were introduced."
"But you didn't get this graph," Malcolm said. "The graph you actually got is a graph of a breeding population. Your compys are breeding."
Compare this to the dinner conversation from the first Jurassic Park movie:
Dr. Ian Malcolm: Gee, the lack of humility before nature that’s being displayed here, uh… staggers me.
Donald Gennaro: Well thank you, Dr. Malcolm, but I think things are a little bit different then you and I had feared…
Dr. Ian Malcolm: Yeah, I know. They’re a lot worse.
Donald Gennaro: Now, wait a second now, we haven’t even seen the park…
John Hammond: No, no, Donald, Donald, Donald… let him talk.
Donald Gennaro: It’s hardly appropriate to start hurling generalizations…
Dr. You stood on the shoulders of geniuses to accomplish something as fast as you could, and before you even knew what you had, you patented it, and packaged it, and slapped it on a plastic lunchbox, and now
Dr. Ian Malcolm: you’re selling it, you wanna sell it. Well…
Not quite the same spark as any of the discussions from the book. In the book, Malcolm presents a real argument, explaining a real problem. The movie mostly just has him making vague grandiose statements filled with buzzwords.
Wish they would of referenced JP2 and jp3 in Jurassic world instead of ignoring the movies
What would be the point though? It's not like the events of those two films affected the plot of _Jurassic World_ like _Jurassic Park_ did.
3 was a group of people trespassing on the island no real reason to mention that I think
The T. rex got revenge on the spino by destroying the skeleton
A hint at how this dino already had the size it had has already been given in an earlier episode, but will be addressed again later on ;)
Arjan Bos precisely, ingen dinosaurs reach adulthood at 3 years old, that's how old rexy was during the events of Jurassic park.
Viktor Lecter even though this is a 6 month old comment it’s exactly what I’ve been thinking, the Spino(s) were created as island defenses so no one would be stupid enough to go back to sorna on account of two big ass dinosaurs that love water hide in
He was just particularly pissed at alan's gang as they actively harmed him early in the film.
2:32 when your friend is running to get a drink but he's one shot away from dying so you try and stop him
The Spino was so aggressive because there were no McDonald's on the island, it didn't appear in The Lost World because it was looking for one
That is very plausible
Dennis Nedry many modern animals do it today so I took an educated guess. If you want me to talk more about sciencey subjects check out my channel.
I just assumed it was on the other side of the island from where Lost World was set.
TLW was in the SE of the island, while JPIII was jn the NW
Fallen Kingdom is now out! Loved it! There's something about the movie series that will always have a special place in my heart!
Fallen Kingdom was an absolute garbage fire. Pure shit from start to finish. You actually enjoyed watching them rape the franchise for a quick buck? You must adore Dominion then.
@@VitZ9 bro both of the movies were alright stop hating cause you saw someone say it was bad
Spinosaur was a good swimmer maybye He was on nubla and swimmed to sorna
wouldnt be able to swim that far
It cant live in salt water, thats y it went extint, cuz glaciers melted and sea level rised and delta’s were salt-ified, and its prey died and it died
Even if it could swim that far...
...even if it could live in salt water...
...that's one quite humongous stretch.
Michael Ford yeah, because nublar is about 30 miles from sorna
Spinosaurus most likely could have swam like a swan or pelican.
They really need to bring spinosaurus back for this next film!!!
i don't know, i do hope for at least a small mention from Henry Wu about Spino
It was in JW. Did you not see it's bones get mowed over by Rexy as she made her entrance? 😂 It was glorious too.
CBright7831 that wasn’t Spino
Pablo Herasme it was a Spinosaur, just wasn’t the same one.
It was a spinosaur skeleton.
i lived in hawaii all my life and a huge JP fan. however I have yet to take that tour to see the filming location for JP here
you make great content, man
and you'd consider going to the filming locations? even hawaii? i'm in. i'm definitely in.
Stefan Salvatierra let me tell u why, because its a movie
Stefan Salvatierra i like your analogy
#spinosaurushasfeelingsto
I feel like this guy needs more subscribers because of how much lore he explains.
Verizon wireless presents the Spinosaurus
Go to the redwoods in Patrick’s Point I have been there and it is amazing...I hiked the valley the Rex ran through and it was so cool!
I was just asking this like for like 1 whole week and this been up for like 2 years lol I’m a new subscriber
Always wondered if they bred a normal spino first before making the hybrid one.
Xenomorph King yeah like did they have one before deciding to make a modified one
Im Sorry But You Can’t Afford That actual spino was longer than the movie one. Just walked differently. No scientist doubt it was larger than a trex.
The Camp site from TLW would be BIBLICAL just seeing everything and imaginging beast walking among us would be amazing 😭🐊💚
When I’m bored I go to your channel and there’s always something good that your talking about
I would love to see Stark's final resting place, aka the river in the lost world. That location was so vast and intimidating that I've become obsessed with forests thanks to it.
You just earned a sub my friend
Hey thanks man! Welcome to the channel!
We need more channels like this
I honestly don't understand why they didn't do those Lost World call backs. There was so much potential for Jurassic Park 3
The Red Raptor I would like to see Vince Vaughn’s character back...that would be crazy if the kid in the new Jurassic movie is a younger younger brother or cousin of the black girl from lost World.
I thought that there might have been three islands since the Spinosaurus wasnt in the lost world.
the dinosaur protection group website states that the spino and others were illegally cloned by Ingen under masrani global in 1997 100 days after they acquired ingen, explicitly mentioned that there had been reports of the spino and others in 2001, but that these statments were discredited by bribed officials.
Well site c (☞ ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)☞
Technically there are five islands owned by ingen in that area only two are ever mentioned in the movies unless you count the 2 frames you see a map
@@finlayharris8511 those 5 islands are available in the game too(JW: Evolution)
This one of the question I have stuck in my mind
Noo go to Hawaii it'll be amazing I really want to see the landing strip and everything else, btw left a like
I've been watching ur channel for a while now so I JUST subscribed
I think the lost world rexes were aware of the spino which is why they were territorial they didnt want the Humans to jepordize the young rex by accidently calling it in
Yeah I agree that that tlw and jp3 take place on different parts of the island
go see the left behind sets, it would be awesome.
Remeber to bring your Toy Dino set when u go to the Red woods for location shoots....:)
lol
Massey Man Growing up it was always my favorite too.
Its clearly the most underated movie due to fans not understanding the creativity to me.
I understood the creativity. I just didn't really like it as much as the first two. Simple as that.
What's the background music on this, gives an ominous feel, I like it
We never got an explanation if Baryonyx was on Nublar during the first film.
Could be the giant ass fence that stoped it from being in the second movie
I haven’t watched jp3 in a while but didn’t it run through that fence ?
Do the Lost World locations! There's more to see and the scenery is prettier.
Dude I love your intro😎
I like your idea of walking threw the lost world. You should check out the I-REX cage and the famous waterfall from JP1
The Spinosaurs probably just happened not to be around where the humans were or had already eaten a big meal and was not hungry to search out for food.
It could've been released on Site B during the lost world!
It would also explain why it's 20 feet instead of 50 feet.
i imagine ingen started cloning dinos again after the lost world hence why spino wasnt on ingens list
Could you do a what if scenario with the Spino appearing during the Lost World? That would be epic man
Possibly in the future! Sounds fun! :D
Well, lots of deaths would occur I'd say
this has been in my recommended once a month for 4+ years I think TH-cam wants me to know where the spino was
