The Freestyle Forum is on a mission to teach the world how to freestyle rap!
There are people all around the world who love to freestyle rap and many others who wish they could learn. That’s why we created The Freestyle Forum - to bring together rappers of all backgrounds and skill levels, and help people take part in this amazing art form.
In recent years, big names like Harry Mack and Juice WRLD have set new standards for freestyle skills, while showing how popular freestyle artists can become. Even non hip hop artists like Marc Rebillet and ARIatHOME are incorporating freestyle rap in their performances. And now - thanks to technologies like Discord, Zoom, and Google Meet - people can host freestyle cyphers with rappers all over the world. The popularity of freestyle rap just keeps growing.
We believe there is a freestyle rap revolution happening right now, and we’d love you to join!

    About me:
I’m Big Al, a freestyle rapper out of Boston MA.
I began creating improv music as a kid, playing blues on guitar and singing in a jazz band. About 10 years ago, I tried freestyle rapping and instantly fell in love. There’s nothing like the energy of a great freestyle cypher. I love kicking dope rhymes & passing the mic with others.
I’ve made many friends through freestyle rap over the years; at work, at school, and while traveling. Everywhere I go, I meet great people who love freestyling just like me.
A few years ago, I started to wonder how many people around the world shared my obsession for freestyle - that’s when I started The Freestyle Forum.

I’m having trouble with filling in the rest with freestyles that land on the target word. That doesn’t seem to make sense. For the set up word you use beat and the bar for that is “going a cappella, about to hit another” and for street you have “we live on Venice and im rocking on the” I fail to come up with the words before the target word that is my weakness my only one to after that I’m able to improvise and point out my surroundings and play with the beat in all kinds of ways with my voice which comes naturally to me that hasn’t been fully tapped into but it’s there in me waiting to explode but this fill in the rest with freestyles is needed to learn cause this is the gap missing everything else I’m equipped with please help!! Been struggling with this problem

It can be difficult at first, but don’t be discouraged! With practice you’ll get there. For me, 5-minutes of practice per day does the trick (it’s long enough to learn, but not too long to become frustrating).
      Here’s a couple tips:
      1. If you need more time to think of setup lines, try pausing the video at the start of each line. This gives you as much time as you need. Remember to learn at your own pace! Don’t go too fast if you’re still learning.
      2. Once you can perform the exercise while pausing the video, move on to full speed. Now, try to keep your eye on the NEXT keyword, instead of the current one. You do not need to focus on the current line very much (most people focus too much on the current line). Looking forward to the next line gives you much more time to think of things to say.
I hope this helps!!! Keep jamming! 🔥🤘
      - Big Al
